THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD VOLUME! I AM SHOOK TO THE CORE. Things have gotten so much more intense and darker! I did feel at times this volume was a little convoluted with everything that was going on, but that's the only bad thing I have to say. EXCELLENT INSTALLMENT IN THIS SERIES!

How do these villains keep finding these kids?!
But I mean, talk about training! If they survive the experience…

We see Midoriya’s compassion and utter determination. And recklessness.

I liked seeing M against an opponent who had a great defence against his ability however, I couldn’t help but think, why didn’t he think of another approach? Why did Midoriya have to go against this guy head-on?

I don’t know how this kid could still think with his arms completely shattered but Midoriya still found a way to save two of his classmates!

Anyway, not surprisingly, the ‘League of Villains’ Vanguard Action Squad’ is after… Bakugo!

His classmates create a Brigade to protect him (much to Bakugo’s chagrin). Unfortunately, they seemingly failed…

I also really liked that we got to see Uraraka up against a villain, one who says they are the same. Trying to be like the person they love. This villain just so happens to love… Stain!

I felt the second half was better, so maybe I don’t mind so much that the villains keep attacking these kids.

Deku lo fue absolutamente todo en este tomo. Lo que uno siempre espera de un héroe, aquí me emocioné con lo entregado que estaba a su propósito, que es tan básico como la prioridad de cualquier héroe: proteger vidas.

This summer camp storyline took a long while to get going. I can’t say I like the new villains, but when all the kids have to work together and defend each other in a real-life combat situation, it’s pretty impressive how well they cooperate and how much they care even for their lousiest, most obnoxious classmates. Uraraka generally doesn’t get even a sliver of attention she clearly deserves, but this volume finally remembers about her existence again and gives her something more substantial to do aside from one-page gags about her being broke. All in all, a big improvement over the previous volume.

Memorable for the trip to see the kitties in the forest, a ball-punch, and another tactical attack, this volume nonetheless gets pretty exciting.

I don't like the bad guys' chances, but I LOVE their character introductions.

The action and heroic moments in this series are top notch, my goodness! Villains attack these kids yet AGAIN (they seriously need better security or something) and they all rise to the challenge to protect and help each other no matter what. And I know it’s hard at times to tell but Eraser Head truly does care about his students even if he often acts like he doesn’t, and he has been bumped up on my favorite characters list because I’ve surprisingly grown a soft spot for him!

And Deku’s fight to protect Kota was something else and honestly one of the most powerful moments in the series so far. And Tokoyami…boy, is he dangerous! Good thing he doesn’t want to be a villain because I seriously doubt many heroes or villains could stand against him!

The way this ended was just a plain “oh crap, NO!” moment and definitely had me scurrying to pick up the next volume right away!

You know the manga is good if you're in awe of the villains' powers as much as the good guys'.

On the very first page of this volume is a note from Horikoshi (the author) basically saying that this volume is going to be super depressing. I gotta say that that wasn’t a super cheery note to start the volume off on, so I was quite cautious going into this. But literally the second page of the first chapter is fricken hillarious and it doesn’t let up from there, the laughs just keep coming. And having now finished reading this volume, I’m left really confused about what Horikoshi was on about, because it was a regular great and action-packed volume. If anything, the only thing that I’m actually kind of worried about is what happened on the very last page.

Ugh this series is so soul-destroying how it consistently ends chapters and volumes with cliffhangers. It’s also sad how this volume doesn't have a hero advertisement on the back cover. :( Those are my favourite part of the volumes (along with the bonus content on the inside, which were still present, god bless).

Sigue siendo entretenido, pero en este volumen parece que la trama se está tornando un poco repetitiva y eso me preocupa...

Sin embargo, me gusta la apariencia de los nuevos villanos y a Deku lo quiero cada día más (?)

WOWOWWOOWOWWOWO. This was an amazing volume!! HYPE.
So the training camp has started and things are looking like it will be fun and exciting... but then during a test of courage everything goes absolutely WRONG. The villains are here (including my girl Himiko) and they are here with a list and an objective. What happens next is just one big wow and I love that there is a big focus on Deku and him tyring to save someone, but also focus on the other groups and individuals. Not just the students, but also the pros and the teachers. It was very exciting, very harrowing, and I loved how everyone was trying their best. Kicking butt, helping each other. They have all really become a team. I loved the battles.
And then there is the ending, OH MY! I hadn't expected that! That is a quirk you don't want to mess with.

I have to say I liked this volume more than the previous one. It has so much more action to it and scenes where it’s able to catch my attention. From where it left off, I have a feeling I will like the next one :)

Questo volume mi è piaciuto, soprattutto rispetto ad alcuni dei precedenti. Credo ciò sia dovuto dalle scene d'azione contenute all'interno relative al .

Unica pecca: l'inizio è poco interessante.

Another good volume! As stated by the author, things are still a little darker in this volume. We have the training in the woods and the attack from the league of villains. But how did they know where the students would be? Time to start watching for hints to the source.
I enjoyed seeing Tokoyami lose control of dark shadow. Its just such a neat drawing! Also love the creepy vibe of Toga, she really is a fascinating villain.

Wow this one was brutal.

World: The art is solid, there is a lot of detail this time around with the action, especially the Midoriya cliff fighting section, good stuff. The world building is also solid, there is not a lot but it’s good because it moves the world forward. The world building is actually mostly character based which is great cause more time with the other students is awesome.

Story: The story of the summer camp is good, it’s good manga Shonen training stuff which I enjoy. The turn was expected and when the stuff does happen it’s done really well and paced and framed really well with all the pieces of all the students and the multiple fronts, it’s well written. The story is intense and the action amazing, the logic and the tension is spot on.

Characters: Midoriya is great, his story with Kota is good. The rest of the class also get great development, this is the strength of this series and once again we get more of it, this time we get Class B also! The villains are well designed the logic behind their action is sound and it was solid development.

A intense and emotionally strong book.

Onward to the next book!

After whatever message Stain was trying to bring forward gets completely forgotten, we go back to more boring training arcs. Just like before they are completely tensionless, existing only to showcase everyone’s superpowers and one-note personalities. Something which ends up being pointless since only 3 students matter and the rest are filler. At this point the story has become a plotless sex comedy, since you get all the usual stereotypes of ecchi anime. Naked underage girls at hot springs, sexy horny cosplayers, and transvestites for more queer representation, which I am sure is not going to invite all the wrong people to the fandom. Does anyone still remember this is supposed to be a manga about heroism?

Horikoshit sure wasn’t, he was busy stealing ideas from Naruto. There is an angsty kid in this arc named Kouta, and he is a carbon copy of the kid from the first arc of Naruto. Coupled with how this takes place in a forest like in the Chuunin exam and requires talk-no-jutsu to magically fix years of psychological trauma in seconds, you just can’t deny how Horikoshit stole it from Naruto. At the same time it is nowhere near as good as Naruto, since none of the students will ever die and it has transvestites for the sake of having them. Also, this whole plot is so stupid.
-So, you have this kid named Kouta who hates heroes, yet he comes to this training mission that is full of heroes. How does that work?
-His caretakers couldn’t leave him alone, you might think. And yet he spends all his time alone in a cave! This is so much better than leaving him alone in a house with videogames and a toilet and a heating system.
-The reason this kid hates heroes is because his parents were killed by a villain. So why doesn’t he hate villains since they are the ones who killed the parents?
-Maybe he thinks his parents would still be alive if there weren’t any heroes. Super, there would only be villains doing anything they like. That way they would never kill anyone and everyone would be happy. Not!
-Later on a villain attacks this kid and he conveniently happens to be the same one who killed his parents. What are the odds?
-Wait, this improbability stretches even more. The one who goes to help this kid is Deku. Not his caretakers or any other student. It’s Deku, who appears in the nick of time and saves him. Quick, Kouta, run to a casino and be a millionaire. The odds favor you. Actually, no. Once again everything happens so conveniently just to favor Deku. None of the other students ever bump onto where the plot is and that is why they never matter to the plot.
-So, Deku fights this villain who doesn’t make any sense. He has no idea what he’s supposed to do, he doesn’t follow a plan, he just wants to steal a hat or some bullshit, and then infodumps the goal of the other villains for absolutely no reason. There is no thought put into this guy. He was just created on the fly as a one-time plot device for Deku to come off as heroic.
-So, initially Deku is unable to win. Does he use his brain or his notebooks to get the upper hand? No, he just Texas smashes him by getting a one million per cent power boost. It doesn’t matter if it wasn’t really one million, what matters is that he just one-punches his enemies all the time.
-After that Kouta magically forgives the heroes, because a talk-no-jutsu convinced him that it was the villains’ fault his parents died, not the heroes’. Something that was obvious from the very start even if you are a dumb kid. But Horikoshit doesn’t even know how to write dumb kids, and this is the result.

Anyways, there are several chapters about the other students fighting villains, which is not worth going over since they don’t matter. The only thing that matters is Bakugo getting abducted, the mass media making a big fuss about it, and the parents talking about removing their children from the academy. This feels like Horikoshit trying to correct his previous mistake from the first attack of the villains during a training arc. He rehashed the exact same plot for the sake of making the fanboys think the setting a living breathing world that reacts to everything that happens. And he constantly made it feel like there are going to be riots and society will collapse because a student got kidnapped. Well, guess what, nothing happened. The event is just mentioned on the news and is then forgotten. The parents complain a bit, but still let the children in the academy. The villains become a bit more aggressive but they are dealt with almost immediately. They also discuss the possibility of Bakugo giving up on being a hero and joining the villains, which doesn’t make any sense since there are no real heroes in this manga about heroism. Bakugo is the polar opposite of a hero and yet he was accepted in the academy. Who gives a shit if he joins the villains? He’s already one and nobody has an issue with it.

This is also where they suspect there is a traitor among them that tips the villains. The amount of theorycrafting going on at the time regarding who it might be was unbelievable. And at the end of the day it didn’t matter since it was another plot point that Horikoshit completely forgot about for years. By the time he returned to it, the manga was at its last battle and it didn’t matter who the traitor really was.

Anyways, the way they found the villains’ hideout was completely stupid. They placed a tracker on a Nomu that did absolutely nothing in the entire arc. If you bring a super powerful monster with you, common sense dictates that you will use it somehow. You know, to cause havoc and kill someone for a change? Nope, it did absolutely nothing, and on top of that it didn’t realize someone casually walked next to it and placed a tracker on it. This is how threatening the villains are in this manga.

Mi really love how he’s Midoriya tries to help everyone he meets, even people that aren’t kind to him. This volume was very entertaining and I enjoyed this set of villains more than the last one.

As usual, Midoriya gives his all to protect others and hurts himself in the process. I’m curious to see what happens next! Love the blood drinking villain ❤️
