A Brazilian tarot card reader and a Russian crime lord try to restore peace to the galaxy in the third and final book of the steamy science fiction adventure series that began with The Rule of Luck. The perfect society One Gov engineered from Earth's ashes is beginning to crumble. As social unrest and dissatisfaction spread throughout the tri-system, One Gov struggles to maintain order, and a single misstep could see civilization spiraling into chaos.
During this dark time, Felicia Sevigny is eager to use her card-reading ability and new position with One Gov to help restore peace. But she soon learns that the game of politics is a dangerous one, and being married to Alexei Petriv, head of the Tsarist Consortium and One Gov's biggest rival, is not necessarily a hand in her favor.
When members of her family begin to disappear, the stakes skyrocket. There are those who would stop at nothing for the chance to exploit Felicia's luck gene to seize power all over the tri-system. And as the threat of revolution seems imminent, it may be that this time, nothing will be enough to keep Felicia and everyone she loves safe-not even luck. "Cerveny's debut blends steamy sci-fi-fi with breathless intrigue and action, all set on a far-future Earth that's equal parts fascinating and terrifying."-Beth Cato, author of The Clockwork Dagger and Breath of Earth "Imaginative. Fans of romance in science fiction are going to love this!"-Kim Harrison, #1 New York Times bestselling author Felicia Sevigny novels The Rule of Luck The Chaos of Luck The Game of Luck
Catherine Cerveny was born in Peterborough, Ontario. She'd always planned to move away to the big city but the small town life got its hooks in her and that's where she still resides today. Catherine is a huge fan of romance and science fiction and wishes the two genres would cross paths more often. The Rule of Luck is her first novel.
The big question with a series like this is always whether the latest book stands up to the quality standard set by the previous ones. This book does not disappoint. The writing is effortless, the editing is superb, and the plot is once again an action movie in written form. There is no new world-building, and there are no new characters to speak of. The previous books set up all that context, allowing the author to focus entirely on plot. There isn't any romance either, although there is plenty of sex. But more than anything, this is an action/adventure/suspense novel. If you have read the first two, you'll love it. If you haven't, definitely read those first or you won't have a single clue what is going on.
The third book in the Felicia Sevigny series of steamy space opera finds the main character flexing her muscle and skills.
Felicia who has a talent for foretelling by reading the Tarot has found out that her family has a generic disposition for luck.
Others will go to any resort to try to capture the talent, but in a pinch, Felicia shows that monstrous men, who try to control her and take her liberty will fail.
Final book of the series and I was pleasantly surprised. Full of suspense and intrigue, government takedown and double crossing plot lines, I couldn't put it down. Great way to end the series.

I picked up this book in the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know what happens next with the characters. My personal review of the book is as follows:
I want to start this review off by saying that I have talked to the author before on Twitter and I think that she's very cool however I will still give my honest review of the book as I always have.
I will keep my review to brief summary of what I personally felt about the book whilst adding as few spefics as possible due to the fact that this is the 3rd (and from what I personally remember) and final book in the series; in my personal opinion the vast majority of plot points in the book are spoilers in some form for the previous books in the series so I definitely recommend reading the other books beforehand/rereading them if nesscery to get all the different details of the series fresh in your mind before reading this because(in my personal opinion) this book doesn't give you as much of a "recap" of the main plot line as some 3rd/final books in series do, I had to re-read a few paragraphs a few different times to remember what plot point was being tied up.
I do personally wish that we as readers could have gotten a few scenes at the end of the main character/her husband actually getting to enjoy their hard won(in my personal opinion) "happy ending".
Overall I personally rate this book a 6 and a half out of 10 and the overall series an 8 out of 10 and I definitely recommend reading it if you like want a romance with sci-fi/futuristic space elements(most of which I personally found to be very realistic and believable).
My eyes glazed over several times on this one. Fortunately the were a few interesting action parts that kept me at it. Could have skipped the something and just read ending or not.
(Disclaimer: I received this free book from the publisher. This has not impacted my review which is unbiased and honest.)
But what I love most about the Sevigny series is that under the simmering romance, the science fiction gun battles, lies some really interesting, and timely themes. In a world where technology is steadily moving forward, what could this same technology do in the wrong hands? A society with reproductive control, an inter-connected internet, and organizations battling for control. So you read all of these interesting science fiction and ethical dilemmas, with some steamy scenes and a romance that will touch your heart.
I was attracted to this by the solid writing and quirky voice, but soon started wondering when the story would actually begin.
To be sure, there's lots of stuff happening, arguments and interpersonal drama, but the inconsistent worldbuilding (absolute authoritarianism but an aware and contented population, almost too idyllic to be true, strict birth control but you'll be separated if you don't have a baby fast enough) and an emotional but utterly passive protagonist started to get on my nerves.
All of that could be forgiven if there was a gripping story being told, but I stuck it out to page 90 and absolutely nothing of any interest, with visible stakes and consequences, was happening. Maybe it gets interesting on page 91, but I'll never find out.
Overall, I enjoyed this third book in the Felicia Sevigny trilogy, as I did the other two books, however, each of the three books would have been infinitely better without the spice.
It was an interesting mix of post apocalyptic life, how humanity had responded, the technology and those that decided against adopting all of it and how luck played a part.
I'm tired of heroines who aren't really strong female leads. The heroine in this story melted in the presence of the lead male character, and she seemed very surface level even though the story was told through her perspective.
I devoured the first book in this series. The second...lost me a bit. The Game of Luck definitely rebounded and finished strong. I am invested in Felicia's story. Catherine Cerveny created a unique world that I would have liked to see more of or would be excited to read other stories in.
The only thing that kept this from being five stars is a fairly predictable twist partway through. It did pick back up and ended nicely.
I will look forward to future books from Catherine Cerveny!
Only got until they introduced her ex-boyfriend as a character and it became clear the plot wouldn't ever get better. Stopped reading won't be reading the third book.
