Preacher is the president of The Stone Knight's MC. He's tough, he's a badass, and his club is his life. He doesn't have time for love, nor does he want it.
Macy goes through life simply existing. Her brother, Snake, hates her and blames her for their mothers death. Her fathers a gambler, and is rarely home.
When her father can't pay a debt, the loan shark decides that taking her will be payment enough. The only choice her father has, is to take her to Snake for protection.
But what happens when the president gets a look at her. Will he take it upon himself to protect the girl that desperately needs to be loved, or will he let her go, and remain the president that only cares about his club!
I LOVED IT! I love Preacher's character. He really takes care of his own. He loves his club and he loves his brothers. As a leader he's perfect. He's been alone for so long and the club is growing more everyday. The women are becoming one of my favorite parts of the club. They're growing stronger with every story. And soon little Catherine and Brady will have more playmates. The first time Preacher sets eyes on Macy he feels that thing all the guys talked about. She's his one and he knows it. Macy is meek and mild but also has a spunky side. Macy is Snakes sister but they never had a close relationship because Snake blamed her for the death of their mother. When Snakes father shows up at the compound needing protection for Macy, Snake is furious. When Macy notices Preacher watching her she feels it too. I love these two together. All these guys are big growly bad@ss bikers but their women have them tied around their fingers. And when these guys laugh about something their women say or do it's really sweet and makes me love them even more. Now I have to say Dagger is my favorite character. I'm a generally happy person and I love to laugh and his character cracks me up. I can't wait to read his story. When trouble comes looking for Macy of course the club is right in front of her ready to do anything to keep her safe and Snake is right there with them. He loves his sister more than he can say and feels like crap for the way he's always treated her. I don't want to give away any of the excitement so I'll just say at times I laugh and at times I cried and at times the suspense was heartbreaking. Macy is such a lovable character and she's a breath of fresh air for Preacher. The chemistry between these two is hot. Even though the Author doesn't give detailed sex scenes she gives you just enough to let your imagination do the rest. I highly recommend this series to everyone.
Romance trope: MC Series: Stone Knights MC Length: 181 pages
Plot: Preacher is the pres of the Stone Knights and one of his prospects, Snake, has a problem. Snake's dad has a gambling problem and has shown up at the clubhouse needing someone to watch over his daughter (Snake's sister) because someone he owes money to wants to take Macy as payment. The more Preacher gets to know Macy, the more he's sure she's "his one." He just has to keep her alive and safe in the meantime.
Commentary: This is actually my second time reading this book - I liked the story! However, there were some ridiculous aspects, namely the way that Snake treated Macy her entire life. It seems like a responsible, successful parent would have been able to deal with a 6-year-old mistreating his little sister, but instead, he allowed it to fester so that Snake hates Macy and says she killed their mom. And then I'm supposed to believe that he really loves her - he loves her so much and that's why he had to treat her like that. Anybody with half a brain would know that an unborn infant (or one in the process of being born) isn't responsible for the death of the mother. But everyone let Snake think that (well, his dad let him go on with that - it seems he didn't share with the guys, because once they heard, they all thought he was dumb too). Actually, a lot of the villainry was caricature - the Chinese dry cleaning money launderer (talk about rude stereotypes!), the bookie, the mean older brother. And Macy was ridiculously naive to the point of it not even being possible. But what I liked was the sweet romance between Preacher and Macy and Preacher's thoughts about how his feelings are developing. Nearly fade to black - very vague love scenes.
Grammar/formatting: Need another serious pass with an editor/proofreader. It doesn't seem that anyone proofread the book, and I really think it could be a much better series with some polish. I would have added 1/2 - 1 more star if the editing had been better.
Wow I really hated how Macy's brother Snake treated her for years, but he finally told Preacher that he was scared she would die, because of their mom dying when she gave birth to Macy and also because when Macy got so much as a cold it wound up being pneumonia and leaving her really sick, so he was scared of her dying as well. I love the nickname of hummingbird that Preacher gave her and she in turn came up with all kinds of silly but loving nicknames for him. Very glad that the President of the club finally got his ONE. Really sad how she got her back burned by that stupid steamer machine used in dry cleaning facilities, and all because the despicable and heartless owner threatened her with a big metal ruler. Karma sought justice on her and the cleaning building. It was sad as well when she got kidnapped by the lunatic and wound up weak and getting sick, but what a great way that she got her captor back and then the way Preacher doused his own karma. Happy reading.
Sheltering Macy is the eighth book in the ‘’stone knights MC’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an entertaining read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Preacher is the president of the stone knights MC. He wants love but he is a busy man. When his prospects sister needs help, sparks fly. When Macy’s fathers gambling problem puts her in danger, she needs her brother’s help. The chemistry between Macy and Preacher is clear to see and I liked them together. I was annoyed at Snakes dislike of his sister at first. When his real reasons were revealed, my heart hurt for him. That being said, I liked that he finally gave in and shown his sister love. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
It was a nice read. Funny and kinda sweet. Preacher was awesome. I loved him. Macy was really sweet but fierce. Snake was.....eh...a real asshat for ⅓ of the story (and apparently for all Macy's life) then he truly changed and got better. The book was a bit too... clean for my likes. I mean, there's plenty of cursing and mentions of sex, but the actual sex is glossed over. Like, there's sex (once) but it's not described. It's only mentioned so quick you'll miss it if you're not careful. So, not really what I usually like, but it was still a nice read. What bothered me the most were all the typos and grammar errors. Girls instead of girl's, your instead of you're, also last rights instead of last rites, and so many many others, it was really annoying. The book needs serious editing.
I have been looking forward to getting Preacher's story and had to read awful sentences like "He had taken her breath away with his good locks and growly voice". You can't get into a description of the main character when it says locks instead of looks. Fall really needs a proofreader and editor. I love the characters or I'd have given up a long time ago on this series. Macy is sweet and accepting of others. She does save herself though and its badass.
I have noticed a trend that in almost all MC romance books that the lovers just move at this extremely high speed. They are saying I love you within like 2 weeks of knowing each other. I really prefer a slow burn. Some time for them to get to know each other and build a relationship. This book was missing the slow burn but it did have very fun and unique characters, a heroine that you were rooting for and a lot of drama/MC action.
I want to read more in the series to see if they all have quick romances but overall a good book.
These books by this author are a lot of fun to read, there’s dark stuff but you know it’s all going to be ok in the end, there’s insta everything but I love a love at first sight book so it’s perfect for me, I love that trust is built slightly longer, and I adore the pure reading simplicity of a book that ticks all my boxes takes me on a wild ride and leaves me with a smile on my face. That’s a well deserved 5 star read for me.
As is the norm in the Stone Knights MC finding their one always comes with added drama. I liked Macy and her quiet demeanour. Preacher fell hard and fast. Once again trouble is brought to MC’s door. Pleased Snake sorted himself out I really didn’t like him much but he redeemed himself. The storyline was good with both a mix of the dramatic and entertaining…Dagger is always good at the one liners. Justice was served and as always an HEA.
100% would recommend this author and series to anyone. The women end up becoming little spit fires in their own way and the men are all fierce, protective, over bearing Neanderthals who love their woman with passion!!! Dagger needs a book, with two left in the series, I hope he has one. Also this series is easy to read, I have only been reading this series for 5 days!!!
I love this series by Megan Fall, but Sheltering Macy is my favorite book of the series. There is so much humor in all of the books, which is great, but in this one I also love examining the relationship between Macy and her brother Snake, and then the dynamic between her and Preacher. It’s just a great book.
I absolutely loved this book! I have been waiting to get to Preacher’s story and I was not disappointed. Although the previous books were good reads I love badass women who fight back and Macy gave that. I can’t wait to read Dagger’s book next because he is one of my favorite brothers in the club after Navajo of course.
Loved the characters, loved the story line. Finally Pres found his HEA. Lots of spelling errors, but that didn't take away from the actual story. Every time a brother finds his One, someone decorates the guys room in girly stuff and the girls love it. Can't wait to read the next book in this series
Macy was amazing and her strength made her the perfect partner for Preacher. I absolutely loved this book and once again couldn’t put it down. I would highly recommend.
As usual Ms Fall does not disappoint, loved the series. My only gripe is the editing in all the stories I have read, invest in a editor as the editing in the stories is not very good and can be distracting
The stones Knights are absolutely amazing at finding the Damsels in distress. These books keep you turning the pages as fast as you can. The action is fast and the humour is awesome.
Was it a vibe.. yes, was it as good as the first time I read it on wattpad.. no but the vibe was still there. I wish I could go back to when mg brain was still at the Lower stages of developing because this would have slapped like the first time I read that.
What a great book and series!! I just absolutely loved it from beginning to end and I can't wait to read the next book! A definite must read. Happy Reading!!!! :)
Snake's views on his sister, the heroine, are so convoluted they made my head hurt. Thankfully, the author, err Snake, saw the error of his ways and he was redeemed.
Although its a great story, and I really enjoy the series, there are way to many editing errors. I know she has proofreaders but they are not catching the errors. this makes the author look sloppy. Author doesn't do the grammar well, or use the correct words (i.e "my babies fine with his uncle.... " there is only ONE baby and she writes it as babies, there is only ONE girl and it's written as girls... etc ) author fails to use proper punctuation and the story reads as many when there is only ONE.... (i.e Well the years up and .... well the year is up - only ONE year is being discussed. This has been mentioned in many past reviews and still isn't corrected....
other errors (warmed instead of warned, extra words in sentences, woman/women, than/then, your/you're, your "brothers" turning in something... only ONE brother, labour/labor, I know my sisters ok... only ONE sister. so author really needs to learn to add in the ...is..."my sister is ok. or learn what an apostrophe is used for.
With all the sloppy editing errors, I have to give this a 3 star. Often it was confusing and I had to go back and re read the page to understand what was going on. too many plurals with there is only ONE...
Prez finally meets his ONE but Mousy Macy doesn’t strike me as a head biker old lady type. Didn’t really see mousy Macy as leading biker lady material, though I did love what she did to Pike. I just couldn’t get my head around the way Macy carried on with her father. He was an addicted gambler and I know there is no way her life growing up was sunshine and roses. So why all the emotion? And why was her badly burned back not hurting her with all her moving and running around? Snake actually hated his father at first and he acted as bad as Macy did when Wes was hurt. I enjoyed this, it was a decent enough plot but a lot of things were simplified. I think it is the camaraderie and hi-jinks between the men that I enjoy, which keeps me reading these. The usual rinse and repeat of heroine stereotype and her being hurt prevailed, along with the usual grammatical and missing word errors. If this author got a decent Beta reader, editor or just someone who knows proper English, (laundry mat is used twice, laundromat used once), these would get better ratings from me. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
I devoured every word of this book. I fell in love with Preacher a few books ago but his and Macys story was so sweet. There was so much action going on in this book you just wanted to know what was going to happen next. I seriously can't get enough of the funny banter between men and their women and Dagger cracks me the hell up. I've started to collect the paperbacks in this series i just love it so much. And I'm dying to find out who is responsible for decorating the rooms its hilarious.
Love all your characters, but Preacher is the glue that holds it all together and he does this with brass balls. I waited a long time to see who would take this beast and Macy is the bomb! Loved that the store the intertwine together. These books are written with humor, drama, life and sometimes death. Please give this series a chance it's worth every cents. Megan Fall keep them coming.
I'm so pleased Preacher got his woman. This MC series is one of the best. While each story is a stand alone, I do suggest that you read the rest do you understand the characters.
There are some brilliant laugh out loud moments that are best understood if you follow the series.
Well done again Megan. Can't wait for Dagger.......
