Rate this book
The Concise Reads Management Series gives us some of the important tools in the management tool belt including problem solving, communicating, and building a team. The guides are concise on purpose and should take you no more than an hour or so to read but the principles within them take weeks and months to master. These are essential principles to find success as a manager or leader and therefore it is important that you absorb them and turn them into habits. Agile Software It wasn't until 2001 when seventeen software developers met at the Snowbird resort in Utah and put together a document known as 'The Manifesto for Agile Software Development' that incorporated all the lightweight software development methods of the 1990s, such as Scrum (1995), into a working draft of best practices. This document was modified over many years until the creation of the 'Agile Glossary' in 2011-an open source repository of knowledge by the world's agile practitioners. In this Concise Reads guide, we'll walk you through the basics of Agile and Agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban, so you could use this framework in the management of your next software development project. At its simplest form, think of the framework as a way to reduce inefficiency through rapid prototyping, cross-functional team set up, and clearly defined non-overlapping roles. The proven assumption is that by iterating through the entire development cycle multiple times, a learning curve begins to take effect that produces efficiency gains. In this guide we’ll learn Principles of Agile and why every manager should know them Scrum and Scrum Ceremonies The popular Kanban method and what software to use This Series covers the following topics commonly taught in Management PROBLEM SOLVING THE ART OF COMMUNICATION TEAM BUILDING AGILE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT LEAN & LEAN SIX SIGMA

Short, concise, and straightforward

This is a quick introduction to the the agile world. If you’re looking for 1.5 hour book to understand what the words kanban and scrum mean, then this is your book. However, the purpose of this book is not to make you an expert on those topics, rather to give you a quick overview about the theme.

I was looking for something more deep, but I enjoyed the reading.

Do not read this book, you will know less after reading it. and fill your brain with misconceptions.

This book starts out as giving recommendations that I do not agree with, then moves over to become

factually incorrect.
