To make my dream come true I’ll do anything, even put up with an a$$hole like Leandros Kaplan. Four years, five tops and I’ll have enough money saved to stop working and write full time. I know lying to him to get the job is crazy and stupid. It’s as crazy and stupid as the requirement for his new assistant to be married. I’m not married, and I’m not like his past assistants, the ones who dropped sexual innuendo daily and then would hand him their underwear when he asked for reports. I’m a freaking virgin at thirty-one.
I swear I never thought I would fall for him, it doesn’t matter that he’s a gorgeous Greek god billionaire, he’s also a jerk who takes pride in being ruthless and cold-blooded. He’s so out of my league we don’t even play the same game. He’s into dating double zero models. There’s no way he would ever be interested in a plus size like me.
When he finds out I lied I’m not surprised he wants his pound of flesh, I’m surprised he wants it in the form of my flesh, naked for him. The retribution he demands is me, whenever, however, he wants my body. I’ll give it to him, everything he demands. He doesn’t want my heart or tears, only I can’t stop giving him both, and it’s slowly tearing me apart. Can he ever forgive me for lying or will that one lie be the end of us?
Due to commitment issues I have lived in many different cities and my favorite is Chicago but I have managed to settle into Austin and perhaps my commitment issues are behind me. I have enjoyed reading from a very young age and it wasn't long before the children books bored me and I read the books my mother enjoyed Stephen King and Dean Koontz and I didn't sleep without the light on until I was about ten. I came across my first Harlequin by accident and it was love at first read, no one died and happy endings? It was a whole new world and I loved it. I wrote my first story at eight and everyone died, of course. Since then I would like to think I've gotten better and now I'm writing the happily ever afters I first fell in love with, with some hot sex thrown in along the way. As a plus size woman myself, I have started writing the stories I always wanted to see myself in but never did. And now I'm ecstatic to give BBWs the happily ever afters with hot Alphas they so rarely get.
Clearing out my kindle, I found this and I'm always down for a BBW romance, so I dove right in.
Nope, nope, nope. There's ALOT of problematic content with this, so where do I begin?
First and foremost, what brings me in is the fat rep, because I love BBW romance, but the rep here is atrocious - I positively loathe the "I'm so fat why would anyone want me" mentality and here it's the heroine who thinks it of herself, and only finds confidence once the hero finds her attractive. Hell to the no.
Second, the power imbalance here is pretty extreme and the way the hero treats her through the majority of the story is bipolar, at best. Third strike came in the form of sexual assault on the heroine by the hero. Aaaaand I'm out. I get that there's remorse, a lot of rationalization by the heroine and there's ...yeah, I just can't.
So while I wanted to enjoy this, I just couldn't. I'm pretty sure I have other books from this author just kind of waiting on my TBR, but this was a big ole miss for me.
I am taking something away from this story. I’m not quite sure what it is, but I am. First let me start by saying the way Leo treated her at first made me what to punch him. He was by far the worst chart I have read in a while, it doesn’t matter if it was all for his own feelings. But, there was something in the underlying meaning behind his words, that got me. Even when those words cut me and the h to our core. Normally when I read something of Thai nature I get angry and give up. But, here I was so engrossed in this story that wouldn’t be the same outcome. I found myself on the edge of my seat. When everything came to light and Leo was no longer a jerk I did feel she gave in a little too easy but I get it. This type of passion, it’s hard to over look.
I could write a million more reasons why I loved this story, but I won’t.
Like i said before I took something away here, I’m not sure what... but, this is a story that will stay with me for a long time.
31 year old virgin and another controlling, blackmailing hero that likes to ignore labor laws by demanding his employees be married because he’s just too dreamy to resist. 🙄
I’m just so over this cliche.

This book is so intoxicating. You just get so into the characters that you feel that you are immersed in the story.I couldn't put the book down till I completed it.It left me light headed and smiling for the characters that I felt like I knew!
This is the first book of Fiona Murphy 'His on Demand' which I have read and got pulled right in. I just could not put it down. This was a very well written story which kept me hooked, wanting to know more. This is a story of Leandros Kaplan in short Leo and Alexandra Clark in short Alexa.
Leo is multi billionaire, tall, dark and handsome. Women are constantly throwing themselves on him for attention. When he likes a woman it is only for his sexual pleasures and does not believe in lasting relationships. He is a business man who rules with an iron hand and is always angry, but at the same time he is just and fair in his dealings. The one thing that makes him very angry and has a great revulsion against people who lie. He is in need of a Personal Assistant and this is when Alexa enters the scene.
Alexa is a plus size woman, she is beautiful, but does not believe so herself, she is a writer and wants to further her writing career for which she needs to work and save her finances to retire comfortably in around five years. The place where she is presently working will not help her in fulfilling her dreams. She takes up the job as Leo's personal assistant, but in order to get the job she has to be married as that is the job requirement. She tells a lie that she is married. She is helped in this deceit by her friend Natalia who also works for Leo. Natalia forges a marriage certificate and creates a face book page of her supposed husband Felix.
Leo and Alexa are attracted to each other right from the beginning. Leo has a strict rule of not having any relationships with married women and his employees. But he is unable to hide his feelings towards Alexa, and so right from day one of her joining he is intentionally harsh with her at all times. Alexa on the other hand is hating the lie she had to tell to get the job. She has fallen in love with Leo on first sight. She is intelligent and very hard working, and is finding it difficult to hide her feelings towards Leo.
Leo's lust for Alexa is so strong, that he decides to harass her to such an extent that she would leave the job, but Alexa catches on to his tactics and has become determined that she will not give him the satisfaction of making her leave, as she cannot give up the thought of never seeing Leo again.
He finds out about her lie and decides to take his revenge. To satisfy his lust for her he gives her an ultimatum, either quit the job within two weeks or become his for the next sixty days, for him to do as he pleases with her. Alexa agrees, and their love affair begins. As the days go by, he is unable to give her up. He loves her, but is unable to admit it to him self. They finally declare their love for each other and are ready for a life of married bliss.
As the story develops the characters drew me in, leaving me with a happy feeling. Love and anguish, romance and sex were beautifully woven in as the story progressed. In the beginning Leandros is shown as a cold and harsh man, but as he warmed up towards Alexa his attitude changes making him very lovable. Alexa who was smart and intelligent but naive in many ways and with low self esteem grows to be a brave and confident person. Each and every supporting character too played their part well in furthering the story and making it interesting.
I am looking forward to reading a lot of Fiona Murphy's books over a period of time. 'His on Demand' will definitely be one of my favourite books to be read again and again.
I know that they say to never judge a book by its cover, but I say differently. That's the first thing you see, it was to have an interesting cover and an interesting name.
So, when I saw His on Demand by Fiona Murphy I thought the cover was pretty interesting. And the name had me thinking, "Oh, this is going to be good!" And it was free, what's not to like about a free book?!
Though as I started reading it; I was automatically confused. The author, Murphy, was throwing names and background stories and it was throwing me for a loop. I has having a hard to time understanding at times, and I kept having to go back and re-read the sentence slowly. Or I would forget who was who.
There were two things that bugged me.
One, was that Alexa came off as if she was in love with Leo. Right after meeting him. Which I found kind of weird.
The second thing was that Alexa's grandparents were straight up called illegal. I know, I know. I shouldn't take it personal but no person is illegal. Their action was, that was illegal. I felt like that sentence could've be written better; something along the lines of " . . . Having came in illegally . . ."
One thing that I did love was that it would jump between Alexa and Leo's point of view. Because it allow me to see things differently, without it being confusing. I also liked that fact that Alexa's body shape is made to be something realistic, and that she's tall, because many female lead characters in romance novels are petite with and hourglass figure, mostly. With the female being in her 20's and the guy being in his 30's. I liked that Leo is in his 40's and that Alexa is in her 30's.
Even though there were a few typos, I was enjoying it and would make an effort to read the rest of the books. I give this book 3 1/2 stars.
First of all, the book starts off by not saying whose POV we’re reading from. So that’s already messy. The author doesn’t add the character names to the chapter headings until later? There’s no point in doing that when this is all in first-person, alternating POVs. This isn’t some mystery or thriller novel. It’s not that deep.
There is an absurd amount of info dumping. I learned more about one of the character’s childhood and mannerisms because of this one lady telling a complete stranger about the guy’s backstory than I ever needed to know.
This book is also completely unrealistic about authors and author salaries? Like, this woman lives in NYC and has a mortgage to pay. Yes, her new job will pay $90k a year plus bonuses, which is more than she made at her previous job, but as an admin assistant, how did she even afford the place she lives in now? And she expects that saving 5 years on the job will enable her to quit and write full time in NEW YORK CITY? The MC also writes historical fiction. Apparently, her small time publisher says that she’ll be able to afford writing full time if she winds up writing 3-4 books a year and that’ll be a certainty of $30k-$40k a year. One, what advances or book deals is she getting, because nothing is guaranteed in publishing and historical fiction isn’t the romance genre. Who is even publishing 3-4 books a year consistently in historical fiction?
What the book forgets to mention is that the best way to quit and write full time in NYC is to marry a billionaire, I think. Because that’s really the endgame here.
This book is a mess before anything really began. It wasn’t even worth getting it for free on Amazon.
Man, I loved this story. His Demand by Fiona Murphy is the story of Leandros Kaplan "Leo" and Alexandra Clark "Alexa".
Alexa is in a horrible job and is talked into lying to get a "better" one which is to be a PA to Leo. I say "better" because it is more demanding, hard, and such but with better pay. But Leo is demanding and hard to work for. But he wants someone that is married and won't put any sexual demands on him. Leo is tired of all his PA's having to quite or being fired because he is so good looking.
But when Leo finds out that Alexa has been lying to him about being married all hell breaks loose. Will Leo be able to get over Alexa lying to him?
From the first page to the last I was hooked. This will not be my last Fiona Murphy book, that is for sure! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.
His on Demand by Fiona Murphy is a standalone, romance read. This book is Leo and Alexa's story. Leo is the boos from hell and Alexa his new PA. Because the book is already out some time, I'll spoiler a bit. Alexa needs the job, bad. And to get it she fakes a marriage. Both their attraction is through the roof high, but whenthe truth is revealed, Leo is furious, with right I think, I mean she lied with a major thing. What had me confused is the author throws names and people at the reader - aka me, I don't know about whom and what she speaks. It was very hard to follow the storyline . His on Demand is an ok read for me and I give 3 stars. verified not yet on zon
I don’t know what I was thinking when I picked this book. It was horrible. It was boring and repetitive and I almost quit on it several times but I hate not finishing a book. The first 40% of it was a bunch on repeating nothingness. The second part after he found out that she lied to him was her being his pathetic toy. What self respecting woman allows a man to wrap his hands around her throat and enjoys it? Every time he gave a sex command she practically ran to the hotel room. Hell Felix the cat had more self respect than she did. I skimmed through a lot of the second half of this book.
this book is amazing!! I've read pt 2 as well it was just as amazing !! Now I'm on the search for pt 3 ik it is out there I've read most of it on Apple but the author removed it .... It's a great read and recommend it to all !
Yes it's fantasy and I wanted to rate the book a 5, but I couldn't because what she did to her friend. That was so wrong in so many ways. Good people would never do what she did. I wish the author would have chosen a different way.
If Leandros Kaplan has a million haters I'm one of them. If he has one hater it's me. If he has 0 haters I have died. If the world is against Leandros Kaplan I am with the world, if the world is for Leandros Kaplan I am against the world.
His Demand by Fiona Murphy is the story of Leandros Kaplan "Leo" and Alexandra Clark "Alexa". Leo's mom was raped by an wealthy older man who was Leo's father. Along with other childhood hardship it has turned Leo into a hard man but one that doesn't hurt women nor does he have relationships with married women. Women constantly throw themselves at him even in the work place. So when he keeps going through Personal Assistants he wants one married and matured. Alexa too has suffered family lost with the death of her mother, sibling and father. Alexa is trying to work hard to gain enough money to go full time on writing her books. This working hard and family loss has placed her at being a 31 year old single Virgin. When her friend Natalie who works in the HR Department in Leo company talks her into apply for his Assistant job opening she makes a Fake Marriage license and Facebook page to help Alexa get the job. Alexa is having a hard time keeping the lie going that she is a married women. Leo is violently attracted to Alexa but thinks she is a married women tries to make her life hard at work so that she might quit or get her fired but she is just perfect at her job and in her looks. What will happen when the truth comes out? Loved their story!
I LOVED this book! It grabbed me and pulled me in quickly! Alexa need a new office job and her friend and neighbor helped her with getting a job as the Personal Assistant to Leandros Kaplan. Only problem is she’s single and the requirement to work for Kaplan is to be married! Can one little lie overcome the intensity and fire they both feel for each other? If you love BBW Billionaire romances then this book is for you! One click!
This book defies words. I've been reading romance novels since I was 13 and although I love them these days its harder to get to me. This book does that. I laughed. I cried. All the feels were there for Leo and Alex's story. Fiona Murphy you're an amazing writer and as a BBW myself I appreciate the world you write about. You keep writing and I'll keep reading.
This was my first book by Fiona, & I’m definitely a fan. I loved this story, finished it in one day. Alexa & Leo were so fantastic together, very bumpy in the beginning but once they truly connected, boom. Looking forward to more from this author.
The main plots were choppy, especially the last 20% or so. The plot or the dialogue would seem calm, and the next sentence shows the story nose drive with someone, usually Leo, freaking out. With that choppiness, it was hard to find any conversations or actions by Leo or Alexa to feel sincere. By the end of the book, I could not handle Leo and his tirades. It was frustrating to see Alexa act as a doormat for him. I can understand that she was attracted to him, but it was hard to understand how she could still tolerate being around him. The entitlement that Leo felt he was owed for being lied to by Alexa was annoying, especially considering his own actions. At least Felix did not let him live it down.
Well I suffered through this. It becomes really boring somewhere after 50%. So boring it was a struggle to finish. The sexual assault was unnecessary and was weirdly written off. I don’t know. It was icky. Leandros Kaplan is definitely not book boyfriend material. He’s not a billionaire you like or root for. I didn’t like the female character Alexa constantly beating herself up or that Leo wouldn’t be into her because she’s plus size? As if she knows anything about him. This was a terrible read and yes it needs editing.
I will pass on other books offered by this author.
First of, it was the first romance novel I read that the main character wasn’t petite! (Don’t come for me, I did not see the bbw written) Started off good and as it progressed I couldn’t fathom the idea of a 31 yo virgin having so little respect for herself. It was messy, repetitive and at times, did not make sense. Superficially, I loved the characters. As I got to know more about them, the energy was just off.
Plot: Alexa needs a new job and her friend can get her one as an assistant to Leo, but she'll have to pretend to be married; he won't hire someone young or unmarried after a series of incidents. So she pretends to be married, a lie which backfires on all of them.
Commentary: Leo was not a nice guy. I guess he looked good because otherwise, there was not one redeeming factor that should have attracted Alexa to him. And the fact that he held her lie over her head for the whole of the book was a little ridiculous. Should people make a habit of lying? No, of course not. But she told a lie about her personal life. It had nothing to do with him. He was just mad that he wanted to have sex with her and couldn't. Instead he acted like she betrayed him in the worst possible way. Honestly, the whole thing was silly. She wasn't hurting for money. She just wanted to be able to retire from office work. She didn't have to put up with her other boss or Leo. She just wanted more. I wouldn't even call it greed, but it certainly wasn't dire circumstances.
The one thing he never really apologized for was the one thing that made me the angriest. When they went to see his new house (in the process of renovation), she wandered into another room and must have hurt herself at one point. So the guy that was in there picked her up. When Leo saw them, instead of saying "oh my god, are you okay?" he said, "you fucking slut." Of course someone else told him he was wrong about what happened. My question is twofold: why would he ever be with someone that he believed would nip off to a room to have crazy sex with someone else on a whim while he was right there, and why would she stay with someone who thought that about her and talked to her like that? He never apologized for that specific event/insult. I couldn't have gone on without saying something about that. He wasn't a really nice person, but for me, that was just the culmination of the way he treated her throughout the story.
Grammar/formatting: really needed another round of editing/proofreading. There was a serious problem with commas, both in the sense of too many and too few. There was also awkward phrasing in terms of dialogue being too formal (contractions are so important in dialogue).
“Leo has a thorn in his paw, and his bark IS as bad as his bite…”
Leo is a multibillionaire, who demands the utmost best from all around him. He requires a new personal assistant, and when he interviews a highly recommended applicant, Alexa, he is quite taken aback by his attraction to her, at odds with his very-firmly-adhered-to rules which rarely get disregarded. But he is relieved to know that she is married and therefore, off the table. AND he also doesn’t have relationships with his employees. But his inner turmoil really begins when he starts lusting after her more and more, and soon, his own loss of self control and making sense of his attraction to her takes over his actions.
Alexa added a specific detail to her resume which she felt was necessary to getting THE cushy job with Leo Kaplan…one which she will use as a means to an end, as it will net her enough money to enable her to spend time pursuing her true love of writing. But when she realizes that no matter how hard she tries, he just doesn’t seem to appreciate all her hard work. In fact, he and all his incessant and increasingly difficult demands begin to wear her down, in such a way she begins to suspect he must be deliberately making all his tasks all the more difficult for her to accomplish. But that is nothing compared to what he ultimately demands when he discovers her one-time lie…because this man has a temper and a very exacting way of wreaking vengeance on those who dare to wrong him.
Alexa’s actions are quite understandable, as well as her equal and undeniable attraction to Leo. Her inexperience, however, did not prepare her at all for the force of the man who was Leo. He blamed her for his uncontrollable emotions and desires, making her single-handedly responsible for wrecking his pat daily routine and impeding his efficiency at work. He had a lot to make up for with regards to his dire treatment of her, breaking his very own rigid rules, and for taking so long to permit his brain to catch up with what his heart already unerringly knows. A read which will render you emotionally rollercoastering on the sidelines until their perfect HEA ending.
When Alexa has a chance to be the assistant to Leandros Kaplan, she will do anything for this chance. This means more money, meaning bills get paid off and Alexa will be a step closer to what she really wants to do; stay at home and write. The only catch is, the assistant has to be married. After her friend convinces her, and even helps her make up a husband, Alexa lands the job. Now keeping Leo from finding out will be the hard part. Alexa never in a million years thought that her attraction to her boss would be the problem. So when Leo finds out and decides to get his revenge in the form of Alexa's body, she doesn't think there will be a problem... a mutual scratching if you will. But in time both realize just what a mistake this has been. Alexa trying to hide her feelings, while Leo tries to deny his. When Alexa puts her foot down that things need to change, will Leo be willing to change or will Alexa be going it alone?
So I found this to be a really good story. Giving us some really naughty sexy times, drama, and some crazy cat antics. I will be looking for more from this author. I give this 4 stars.
Fiona Murphy is a new to me author, as this was the first book that I've read by her, and I couldn't get enough! Alexa wants the PA position that Leo is looking for, but his hard rule is that they need to be married. But she needs it so she can get closer to her dream of a writer, so she will do anything to get hired. How will Leo react when he finds out the truth? And since I don't want to display any spoiler douchery, that's all I'm giving away. His on Demand was a story that pulled me in from the beginning, and held me hostage in one position until the very end. Ms. Murphy's talented writing style was highly addictive to me, as I found myself devouring the pages like they were chocolate. It had all the elements that made it perfect in my eyes. From high amounts of angst, to crazy drama, and panty meltin goodness of sexy times that lit the sheets up, the story line was fast paced. With some twists to get my f-bombs dropping, to my favorite parts of crazy kitty fun, this was an amazing story that won't disappoint! I CANNOT WAIT to read more by this author, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
