Abel. A General and Councilman, with the Galactic Cyborg Empire. His mission, see if this new world was a danger to the Empire. If not, could they use it? If it was, destroy it.

He’d earnt his place in the Empire. More than once, he’d taken on great odds and been nearly terminated due to injuries for his efforts. Humans, they’d created them, used and abused them, and when it suited them, they’d killed them off, or tried to.

But that was before the wars ended, before Cyborgs were set free to roam the universe. He’d been technically dead a couple of times, putting himself at risk for his brothers, but he was still here, a little worse for wear, still breathing, still fighting for the Empire.

Only this time, it was for themselves. There were mates out there. Mates that triggered their bonding DNA. That were able to accept their dominant nature. Abel didn’t see this as a priority. The odds were not in his favour.

He had new worlds to find, abandoned brothers to trace and making those that deserved it, pay.

Christine Casey, known as Coco to her friends, had put up with a lot of shit in her life. Her older adoptive parents, long since dead, she spent a lot of time on her own.

It didn’t bother her. Her one saving grace since she could walk, or had been till now, was a knack of putting things back together. She couldn’t really explain it, just knew when something fitted somewhere.

Some said it was a recalled memory of a past life. Coco wasn’t so sure about that, she knew what she knew and more often than not, it worked.

Problem was, she’d got ambitious. Reluctantly taking on a seemingly impossible job for the local big wig, thinking that sexy guy from the bar, might sit up and take notice and she’d gone and fixed the dam thing!

She should have listened to her gut. That, got her noticed and the head honchos came calling with an offer she couldn’t refuse.

She hadn’t got laid, the girls hadn’t come out to play and that sexy guy was long gone. What had she been thinking? Their offer was simple, fix it or say goodbye to her privileges and if she got it done, they’d take her to party! Yuk, hell no.

Now, her ass was on an 80-year-old space ship, that she’d had to put back together, and they expected her to fly it!

Seriously? What planet were they on?
