Supportive and a good reminder of the best in teaching. Nothing new in here, some bits quite glib and obvious but positive.

I read this book for a summer PD book club. While I didn't gain any new insights, it was great to be reminded why I do what I do. Despite the fact that the higher level administration and "experts" undermine what true "teaching" is all about, I get to go into the classroom and experience the love and joy of working with children daily. That alone was a revelation that made me grateful I read this book.

The book itself is a quick read, seven short chapters. I bought my own copy to I could highlight and make notes for the reflection questions at the end of each chapter.
