Pushes me to read further

I wanted to read this for my own curiosity. I did understand the gist of it but it certainly has pushed me to read more, probably some commentary now to understand further. Whatever I feel I couldn't understand is because of language. I decided to read in Hindi, well because it's my first language and I thought loss in translation will be least in Hindi but kind of Hindi written is not good for laymen. I understand this is a translation and not commentary but even translation can be done in simpler Hindi. It's still fascinating though, the explanation on Karm (karma) and what kind of Karm to do and what to avoid. The Karm for different varnas, all of this was pretty neat. On top of it, nowhere varn has been defined birth based, that's pretty cool too.

This is the best version the the Gita there is which is free of personal interpretations, read the Hindi English Translation, though it is a very philosophical and deep book, one read is insufficient to understand the depth of it, that too is english.

To really understand it, you'd be better off taking a few months to learn Sanskrit and then probably read it slowly over a couple of years.

Unlike the Mahabharatha and Ramayana which are fairly straight forward, the Gita is much harder to interpret by a common mind and requires intense study with focus and concentration.

Also this version is published by The Gita Press , Gorakhpur, which was founded in 1923 and it will be 100 years next year.

I can proudly say that this is the first book I read on my reading journey, and I'm grateful that I began it with the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. It is truly life-changing.

It completely changes the way we see the world, other people, our relationships, and, most importantly, ourselves and God.

Imagine yourself in Arjuna's place and let Lord Shri Krishna Himself guide you on a journey toward self-discovery and enlightenment.

The most beautiful thing about this book is that the more you reread it, the newer it feels. Every reading reveals something you hadn't understood before.

Too little time. Too much to read.
