The love of my life died…and now I am falling for her best friend….
Ollie Anderson really thought he had it all. He was a successful college student, he had worked hard for good grades, he had a million friends, and he had found the love of his life without even looking for her.
However, as fate could be a cruel beast, she was taken from him, leaving him completely lost and inconsolable.
He takes off after graduation, trying to out run the pain, and trying to find a life that he could feel the love and laughter he once had.
It isn’t until he moves back home again, trying to pick up the pieces, that love may actually have found him.
Elana Simpson loved her life in college, surrounded by her closest friend, always laughing, excited about the amazing future she had laid out in front of her. She loved Madison, had grown up there, and she was planning on staying and chasing her dreams right there at home.

A brilliant, beautiful, emotional, passionate and engaging story.
Elena and Ollie story is beautiful, emotional, passionate and engaging. Life can really throw painful experiences at us at times and it is how we deal with them counts. They both had a lot to go through before they could move on. They both made mistakes and had to work through them. Why didn't Elana just tell Olie about the dream instead of coming to her own conclusion and wasting precious time. She did the very thing she was upset about when he did it. Insecurities can cause us to make to silly things sometimes but communication is most important in a relationship and Elana needed to learn that. The letter from Ollie is beautiful and the story concluded beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, it has a lot of scenarios that people can relate to in real life.
The first story was very repetitive and soooooooo boring. I got so tired of Ollie and Elana dredging up Lillie and all of the "stuff" they felt and how much they needed to move on and yada, yada, yada. It had been 5 years since Lillie was killed, get over it or see a grief therapist already. The characters were not well developed and the dialog was stilted. These two were very immature and got in my nerves. I just wanted to step into the story and also them both.
This isn't a cheat on her, type of book, but one of love having been taken by death, and the survivors not able to move on. Off course, chance meeting, many years later have the two wounded souls brought back together, where they struggle to adjust to love of more than a ghost. I found it a long story, but perhaps I haven't the emphatic feelings that would mourn for five year, then have guilty feelings for finding happiness.
Yes! I have been waiting for a great book unrushed with the story. Thank you, Claire!!!! I look forward to reading another one of your wonderful stories again soon.
