“It’s not that I’m necessarily a bad or shallow guy, far from it! I only steal from those who are better off than me, or those who piss me off. Which, admittedly, is a lot of people! You see? I’m not so bad.”
Grayson Ryder, a bold, vainglorious rogue with life figured out, or so he thought. When an unknown illness decimates the population of Britain, Grayson is left to wander the wastes in search of answers.
Realizing he can no longer be a lone wolf, for the sake of his sanity, Grayson must step out of his comfort zone and work with others to survive in this new hostile world he has been thrust into, yet finding his next meal will be the least of his concerns.
Colton, the burly leader of a group of survivors, can’t help but take note of Grayson and his skills, finding himself oddly drawn to the thrill-seeker...
Follow Grayson Ryder as he unravels the mystery of the illness and, on the way, finds danger and love in the most unexpected of places.
Contains adult scenes of a homosexual nature, adult language, and some scenes readers may find disturbing.
It was so well written. My emotions were all over the place with who really was the good guy or the bad guy. I found myself yelling at the book when such betrayal was done and I may have cried a little.
I just don't know. I can't get into Grayson, his snarky sarcasm is annoying at times but his immaturity is just too off putting. Then the author goes out of his way to make Colton unappealing with the constant references to the weird beard and I just picture this ridiculous person and I can't get past that. Add in the instalove and I'm just not buying any of this. None.
The supporting characters are no more likeable except Colton's dad. This just isn't for me. Abandoning ship.
This really wasn’t bad. This was my first book by this author and the story flowed nicely. At first I had a hard time feeling the relationship between our MC and their interest but it seemed to come together in the end. I do plan on reading Frostbite now to see how the story continues.

Great characters ..... great story .. enough background to set the scene but not the obsessive detail about weapons that many authors of this genre get hard-on’s about ... and really well paced ... you have a new follower here Ms Giles ... I better get downloading you entire catalogue huh :)
This is one of those rare times I found myself not able to stop reading a book. The story is amazing and so unique, totally different from anything I've read before. The hardships, drama and struggle were all beautifully done and the characters all stood out on their own. My only complaint is that I would've liked a little more romance, but the story was so well done that it hardly matters and the romance that was there was just perfect. I highly recommend this book for readers looking for an epic, danger filled story where the main lead is a gay character.
First time reading this author and so glad I took the chance. Took me a bit to get into the writing style but overall it’s a captivating post apocalyptic story that has a little mm romance mixed in. I love Grayson but I felt Carls pain a few times. He could be a bit annoying but if ever in this situation he is absolutely who I’d want to be with. There was constant action and suspense throughout the story. Definitely had some very tough even sad moments but give this a try it’s worth it.
Interesting take on the pandemic post apocalypse genre
While I was entertained for the most part, some stretches of the book didn’t quite hold my attention. Although there are some truly horrific happenings in the book, there is also a lot of snark from Grayson that lightens it up.
There are some noticeable editing issues, but all in all I don’t regret reading it.
I’m not one to normally read post-apocalyptic stories but this one is one of the exceptions. Great character building, good pacing, and a few twists and turns along the way. All in all, a great way to pass an afternoon.
It’s rare you ever read post apocalyptic romance novels where the MC are gay and so it’s nice to finally have a good book with lots of characters and depth in it that really portrays us as the protagonist.
4.5 rounded up to 5. Very good book. Well written. Just wish there was a little more description regarding the two main characters sexual escapades. Now onto book 2
it was a real treat reading something that thrilled me and made me blush with romance at the same time. I'm definitely gonna read the rest of the series now.
