"Martin Moone is about to finish primary school and feels he hasn’t achieved very much. He’s desperate to get his picture on the school’s Winners' Wall and decides that entering the Invention Convention science competition will definitely earn him everlasting respect. But Martin - along with his teammates Trevor, Padraic and the ever terrifying Declan Mannion - is having trouble coming up with a winning idea.
Martin’s imaginary friend, Sean, comes to the rescue, and together they concoct a plan to beat the snooty kids from the posh school in town. If they can get their hands on some Notion Potion, a mythical brain-boosting beverage, then Martin will have all the ideas he needs. And so the gang embarks on a dangerous (imaginary) journey in their quest to become 'Boyle’s first Junior Genius'.
The Notion Potion is the hilarious third book in the Moone Boyseries, based on the Sky TV series from dream team Chris O'Dowd and Nick Vincent Murphy"

This has all the humor, antics and Irish mischief that the previous two books had. Moone Boy books always cheer me up and make me laugh aloud.
Martin Moone still being overrun by females and their achievements. He is tired of being known as, "a loser", and is determined to be a doer with this in mind he has decided to organise a team of the best minds that he knows. Slim pickings! However he gets his team together and will now enter 'The Science Competition' in Ireland.
It was good, but nothing too special. The wonky kind of freaked me out in the pictures and description… But all in all, it was a mid read. Not too good, not too bad. Bad: who wants to read about the failure of a 12 year old boy who has a sister who makes jewellery out of rubbish? Good: Funny and unexpected. ( I didn’t read the first two books from the series) 2.5*
Considering I laughed to the point of crying on more than one occasion, I’m giving this one all the stars. Punny and so much fun, I’m sad that this seems to be the end of the series.
10 stars from the 12yo, even though I explained the scale stopped at five.
