This was a really steamy book 2 but I’m removing a star for that useless prologue! Here I am thinking I’m about to get some drama and I don’t know if it was a dream or what.
Wilde and the Mayor are trying to get things right and get this relationship off the ground but every time they turn around, something gets in their way whether it’s random buss downs popping up on the Mayors door step or her grandmother suddenly falling ill! Chyyyyy this Mayor is questionable 😆
Book three isn’t on audio so it will be a bit before I see what becomes of these two!

I totally got caught up in Jhalil and Wilde's journey together. Wilde figured she could mess around with Jhalil, but he wasn't having any of it. Standing firm and all about his business, he's crystal clear about his intentions—Wilde is the one he wants, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This story gets better with each segment as Wilde and Jhalil's attempt to protect each other bring them closer. I do believe he has convinced her of his true feelings. Great scenes.

Relentless Love
I loveeeeeeee me some Jahlil and Wilde together. Like they say opposite attracts. I love the way he look beyond what she do for a living and going with his heart because like he said from the moment he saw her he was in love. I understand Wilde is scared talking that risk but I think Jahlil is worth everything.

Okay now what was the point of that damn prologue. I thought things got real serious with Wilde and Jahlil and was highly disappointed when the story didn’t double back to the prologue. However, the story was real cute and sweet I understand Wilde a lot with wanting to protect her feelings against a high profile male such as Jahlil.

The back and forth is killing me…. I get Wilde needs to protect herself but the way she continues to go back and forth and was so selfish was really getting under my skin. I’m still rooting for her to win but girl damn get out your own way.

When it’s your person, it doesn’t matter how much time passes or how hard you try to outrun it the universe is going to circle you right back. Period. The pull between Wilde and Jhalil is undeniable, unignorable( hmm is this a word probably not but you get it!) and honestly exhausting in the best way. Jhalil told her I’d choose you every time he meant that. That man is not letting go.
What really got me was Wilde’s heart. Her instinct to protect Jhalil’s image, even at the expense of her own happiness, says everything about how deep her love runs. Loving someone quietly, privately, in the shadows is hard work. There’s no applause, no public claiming, just sacrifice and trust. Both of them were willing to bleed a little for each other.
Jhalil said forget the optics, forget the scandal, forget the rules he wanted her. No boundaries, no hesitation. Secrecy went out the window this is my woman 😂😂 How dare you show up at my house wanting the D!?!? Wilde loved him enough to think about the consequences before herself. That contrast made their connection feel real and painful and beautiful all at once.
This story captures that ache of loving someone you can’t love out loud. The longing. The restraint. The inevitability. It’s messy, it’s tender and it proves that when two people are meant, hiding from it only delays the collision.

This Is Just WOW!!
Just as in the first the writer continues to give us such a good story from beginning to end.I love that we are getting to the heart of this couple and I love that we get to deal with the dynamics of this relationship.I love we have two totally different people yet they are the same.This series is so engaging that you are just going to fall in love with Jahalil.There was good character development and a story line that has been seen before but the writer pulls you in and never lets go.

Started off with a little loopy loop w/the dream. Kinda left that as a possibility from the first book "Reckless". But got better I like Wilde & Jhalil's chemistry. The Grandma/Mema is one of my favorite. Love that Camden is doing better. Just curious about his(Mayor Jhalil) wealth background because just because he's mayor doesn't mean he should have captian save a stripper and her family bags. Don't want people thinking he is using money from the tax payers to swoon Wilde.

Ok, the story is evolving…getting much better. I think I can give it a full 4 stars this time. I am loving the dynamics between Wilde & Jahlil now that Wilde has let go of her hesitation. I can understand why she’s so hesitant but I agree with Jahlil, when you keep your relationship as secret it’s usually successful. Can’t wait to see how the story concludes with the next and final book in the series.

Too potent
Jhalil and Wilde tries to stay away from each other but fails miserably. Their attraction is too potent. Both of them have a need to protect the other, causing them to debt their own happiness. However, an unfortunate situation happens, causing them to learn on each other and stop denying what is meant to be.

Whew, Jhalil is not one to be played with! That man is relentless indeed, when it comes to what he wants. Wilde really doesn't stand a chance! So much going on, and so many unanswered questions. Can't wait to get into the next book, to see what is to become of these two. So rooting for them! 👍👍👍

Author must’ve forgotten to edit
This story was all over the place. There were way more grammatical errors. I didn’t know whose POV I was reading half the time. It took me a minute to realize that there was a time jump. And the damn poetic ass Shakespearean dialog was killing me. The stripper saying “I must go” instead of “I gotta go” doesn’t fit.

Get what you deserve...
Wilde still wants Jhalil but is hesitant. Jhalil continues to show Wilde that they could have it all. Their story is beautiful to see unfold, and I can't wait until Wilde finally let her guard down and let him in. Can we talk about how cute the scene was between Jhalil and Camden. I love this series.

Listen, I love a man who applies pressure when he knows what he wants. Even when it’s subtle. That’s what Jhalil does to Wilde. He’s relentless. I appreciate Wilde’s self awareness. They are just adorable. I’m glad this is a series because I would’ve definitely needed more.
