Nixie ensnares dragon lord. No matter how beautiful and voluptuous, auburn haired, virginal Iliana is, a soulless water nymph is not what bachelor dragon lord Jareth is seeking. But handsome billionaire Jareth is exactly what BBW Iliana wants.
Can a water sprite who just wants a warm berth, a hard man, and a soft baby, heal a tormented, self-doubting dragon? They say confronting your fears will conquer them. But what if you fear a malevolent spirit that intends to kill you?
The shrieks of the dead have tormented Jareth Lindorm since he was six and his family drowned. But this year he only wants to seek his fated mate and start a family of his own. But first he must deal with a demon’s attempts to kill him.
Water sprite Iliana knows that without a soul she cannot love. But she fully intends to make Jareth love her. Or at least desire her. She is fed up with living in an ice-cold stream and sleeping with the fishes. She schemes to ensnare Jareth, but winds up caught in her own trap.
Jareth’s terrifying visions plunge them into a hazardous trek to the frozen northern wastes. There they discover that only together can they survive the perils of Hel and their own reckless passion.
Yet Jareth fears his visions mean he is slowly going insane. Can he bind his mate to a madman? How can Iliana transform Jareth’s gratitude into the love she craves? And how can she keep his interest when her magical beauty is replaced with the ordinary face and body of a mortal woman?
Together, nixie and dragon lord must stumble their way to a sizzling HEA and a transcendent love. Laugh and cry with Iliana and Jareth as they face raging seas, a black-hearted wraith, and the dread goddess Hel.
Like all the stories in the Lords of the Dragon Islands series, Dragon Ensnared is a standalone paranormal romance with a HEA. While it refers to characters from other books, it may be read on its own. It includes bonus chapters from Dragon’s Christmas Captive, and Dragon Bewitched.

Nixie's have always had a bad reputation, it is said that they help the Goddess Ran steal babies and make ships sink to murder men.....Not so for water nymph Iliiana, she has never wanted to steal babies, or murder men, she only wants what her Princess Lexi has...A warm home with a man that loves her and a sweet cuddly baby. So she sets her eyes on young Jareth...What she doesn't know is that Jareth lives in a nightmare of his own and until she sees it with her own eyes does she realize what her real calling has been....
Jareth's family was murdered when he was but a child and has lived with nightmares and even day dreams of the gruesome events his whole life preventing him from being a mighty warrior like his cousins.. He believes he may be a coward, or losing his mind until he sees the Amazonian beauty riding to his sailboats rescue and is encouraged to follow her lead. She is all he has ever needed to put a stop to the nightmares and what he thought was cowardice
There are moments in this book that are scary, but there are moments that you cam't help but laugh at the innocent and silly comments Iliana makes.
Jareth becomes the focus of water sprite Iliana's attention. She wants a family and thinks he is the one who can give it to her.
Iliana had no choice in the life she she led and has suffered many centuries alone. Many are suspicious of her kind but she really just wants someone to love her. Jareth is a dragon shifter with his own issues and feels very different from the successful warriors in his family.
I enjoyed the story. I felt very sad for Iliana. She is judged so harshly. She has a simple kind of idea about what being with Jareth will be like and really is surprised by the reality of it all. Jareth has a good heart and is not against having a mate. They really do make a good couple. They both want happiness and have simple desires.
In this seventh book of the Lords of the Dragon Islands series, we have an unusual pair of characters that have a huge task to overcome before they can become mates. Iliana is a nixie, or water nymph, who wants a family of her own to love. Jareth is a handsome dragon lord with some issues – because he witnessed his family drown, he is afraid of it. Will the two of them overcome their trials and tribulations and be able to love each other despite everything that is against them?
This is a fast-paced story line that will keep the reader engaged from beginning to end. There is a great deal of action going on, twists and turns and wild adventure. The characters will draw you in and make you care whether they are able to find love despite their unusual circumstances. Grab your copy and see the path they must travel and if they can heal and find a solid relationship along the way.
Once again Ms. Montrose has swept me away on a journey of love. Jareth Lindhorm is a dragon shifter plagued with nightmarish visions to the point he believe he is going insane. Iliana is a nixie who is tired of the cold and jealous of what her liege Lexi has, a warm home, a loving husband and a child. Jareth is sent to Severn island by his Uncle Thorvald. Iliana is drawn to the handsome dragon Jareth and sets a plan to ensnare him.
This is their story. The trials, tribulations that in the end earn them blessings from Hel. I cannot wait for more of Ms. Montrose's dragon stories as I want to know if Brand wins Myst and if his sister Freya will let him.
I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
A story about a nixie, a water nymph, who only dreams of finding a man and a home to have a child with sees a possibility, when she meets Jareth, a dragon shifter. Invading his dreams to lure him to her she finds herself in a nightmare and helps to change it into a positive ending. Jareth likes the fierce warrior he sees and declares her as his mate, but she does not really trust his feelings. Iliana has to struggle with many new concepts and Jareth has to learn that having a mate is more than just declaring it. I had received this book as an ARC. It was well-written, thrilling at times, it describes the struggle of 2 people who fall for each other, despite completely different backgrounds and the struggle to overcome those differences and mis-conceptions.
This is a excellent, intriguing book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This book is about a nymph (Iliana) who is looking for love and happiness, she meets a dragon lord (Jareth) who just happens to have issues with water due to his family drowning. What you will find in this entertaining book is: drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, action, visions, enemies, evil, danger, humor, mates, fighting, survival, lust, love, romance and passion. The characters are well developed and entwine well with each other with regards to the situation they find themselves in and react with fears, doubts, needs and desires. The story-line is well thought out and written. I would recommend this book.
Iliana is a nixie on Severn Island. She is a virgin but soulless. Goddess Ran took her and her twin when they were babies and took there souls. She misses her twin sister Myst. She lived in the stream and one day showed Jareth herself in the water. All Iliana wants is a warm home, a husband and babies. This is a modern story about dragon shifters, elf's and Nixie. I enjoyed this story and all the charters in the book. The story has so many twist and turns and is very hard to put the book down. This is book seven but can be read with the rest of the series. I love the whole series. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.
Iliana a water nymph had been dismissed and now lived by the princess in the cold damp creak and couldn't help but want what the princess had, a loving husband and child. So she set her eyes on Jareth as her husband. Jareth a dragon shifter but he had such bad luck of late he just hoped it would change. When their all attack when sailing things become more clear. Great story with some wicked twist that will grip you and keep you intrigued right until the end.
The Lindorm family has lots of stories...This one is Jareth...he's had trouble since his parents and little brother were killed..he was six then and taken in by the Elder Lindorm's.he has nightmares and even daymares. He thinks he's going crazy. Which is why the Elder sent him to his cousin Theo..there he finds a mythical creature that helps him. There are funny parts for sure. Liked it
What a heartwarming book, and funny and sexy as well! The forthright nature of Nixie Iliana coupled with her ignorance of both modern ways and the way of love makes for some very funny and excuciatingly steamy moments. Throw an evil wraith, more handsome Viking dragons and a missing sister in the mix and you have a very engaging and enjoyable story. Waiting for more from this great storyteller.
Jareth and IIiana's story is a compelling read, it's got lots of humor, misunderstanding and a true sense of destiny with these two. I really enjoyed reading it.
I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily chosen to review it here.
This water sprite is jealous of her friends life and wants what she has. Can she find her own happiness with a dragon who has a troubled past of his own.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. This is book 7 of the Lords of the Dragon Islands series by the author.
Iliana and Jareth's story is another wonderful tale of fated mates discovering each other...but definitely not easily! Once again, new and different characters join the series keeping it fresh and intriguing.
I was hoping she got pregnant before the book ended. I'm glad he finally realized he was a seer and he wasn't just hallucinating. I wonder if Brand will be her sister's mate.
Iliana & Jareth were pieces to a puzzle no one ever imagined, except maybe Iliana. I loved her attitude in wanting a home, husband and babies. So happy she got her HEA with Jareth & finding her sister Myst.
I enjoyed reading this book 📚, it has a great storyline. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This was just weird, like it was produced by AI. Sorry if this is actually a real author, maybe it was translated into English, or it's not their first language? It was obvious from all the * marks that referred to other books that this was part of a series, and the author did not flesh this book out for the reader that had not read the other books. There was so much missing that I STILL don't know anything about their dragon culture and customs and I'm done with the book! I just found it strange and very hard to get into, and very hard to relate to any of the characters. The author did not bring them to life. The language was antiquated, and not in a good way- it made the conversations seem stilted and odd. And having the FMC using words and phrases for sex that were from hundreds or thousands of years ago...it COULD have been cute, if it had been done well, but it wasn't and it just went from silly to obnoxious, it was a real mood killer. None of the spicy scenes were spicy because of all the awkward dialog, both internal and external- "do you want to drill my hill?" - yeah, not sexy at all, bleh. And why was the order reversed for the wedding party entrance? The bride goes last, not first! And why did they wait for her to be pregnant to get married!? And why would some guy the mmc knows ask him if the brides sister is a virgin literally in the middle of the wedding?! How weird and random! I'm sorry, this was just not well done, I definitely won't read any of the others, and I'm really surprised at the amount of good reviews it got. Reader beware.
This book has a lot more of the mythical creatures such as those in Dragon's Christmas Captive and Dragon Enchanted. Iliana is a nixie or water nymph who protects Severn Island. She once worked for Ran, who had kidnapped her and her sister and taken their souls. Their job had been to guard the belongings of the lost sailors who Ran had delivered either to Valhalla or Hel. When she had failed at that job, through no fault of her own, she had been left to drift aimlessly until she given a purpose by Princess Alexandra (Lexi). She has seen how Lexi has embraced her new life with Theo and wants to have a home and family of her own. She first set her sights on Gunner, but Lexi had banished her back to her stream for even thinking about seducing the youth. Now she has great hopes to win over Jareth.
Jareth Lindorm has been raised by his Uncle Thorvald and was made one of his sword bearers. He joined the Swedish Royal Navy, as all Lindoms were expected to do, but failed to earn a position in Special Ops. He was dispatched to Severn Island and has come to stay with his cousin Theo and his wife Lexi. He knows Uncle Thor is hoping that some of Theo's bravery and valor will stick to him when he leaves, he is not so sure.
Find out what is causing Jareth's fearfulness and how Iliana's past ends up giving him a future.
Absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it to all readers who love great romantic stories with a bit of intrigue and drama. Iliana wants what Lexi has a warm home, husband and a baby but she's a nixie an enchanting water sprite whos been told that she shouldn't trick anyone let alone a Dragon shifter. Jareth finds the ring that Iliana has bespelled and picks it up unknowingly taking the magical invisible nixie with him. Thus begins this enchanting tale.
Even though they are in the 21st century these dragons have the honor and integrity of the 18th. Jareth has thought of himself as less than for years, it is heartwarming to see him come into his own. Iliana has lead such a sad existence, she is way in the past in her understanding of culture and even language. I laughed out loud at her antics and her misinterpretations of today figures of speech. These two coming together is a sweet sexy fun ride.
Yup that is right...Please be my husband. This was an adventure filled with emotions and laughs. Scared the crap out of me in that one scene in the water. Lol ok this hot and s3xy read will have you glued to the pages till your done.
This book had funny moments. Also confuzed moments. It goes without saying people that speak a different language can get confused by some wording which made the book funny.
