If you're well-read on business/marketing, you won't necessarily discover anything new here - but it all is presented very clearly in easy to understand terms. I particularly liked the questions posed at the end of each chapter.
I loved this straight forward and thorough insight into increasing loyal buyers to your brand. I appreciated her examples, and step by step process to achieving your goals as a blogger that wants to monetize. This book is for new bloggers, and bloggers that want to increase their following through email. She even gives the reader a bonus!❤️What’s not to love? Super helpful!
I'm not new to Meera Kothand. Recently, I took an email course on newsletters from her, and was immediately hooked. So when she announced the release of Your First 100, I had to run to look at it, because in my "other" life/business, I'm working to start up a mentoring business to support the writing part of my life. (Reading supports the bookstore, mentoring supports the writing)
Your First 100 is no-nonsense and right to the point, but this isn't one of those cheap-ey, short-form PDF books that so many online businesses bandy about. Meera dives in deep, provides resources, and give concise advice about how to build your audience from the ground up. All the way up through converting your audience to paying clients and beyond, to ensuring that those paying clients come back again and again, because of the consistent customer journey that delights them.
Admittedly, I haven't finished the worksheets that Meera provides to help you through the process. I started to, and then got a bit lost in just enjoying what she was saying. Now that I've finished it, I'm going back to the beginning to work through the homework and worksheets that correspond to each section.
If you are launching any online business... If you already have an online business... Especially if your online business is struggling - you need this book.
It won't overwhelm you with how to grow your Facebook page, or get more Twitter followers. This is a no-nonsense and down to earth approach to providing the best, authentic version of what you offer to your ideal customers
Although I now have more work to do, this book helped me fine tune all the touch points of my blog and offers. Meera has laid out 5 touch points and walks you through the process, showing you gaps and offering help to fix it.
I love all of Meera's books and this one is no exception. If you want to seriously up your email marketing game but don't know where to start, start with this book. I also love her CREATE planner for planning.
You have to hand it to Meera Kothand, her brand is on point. Her blog posts are incredible and her content is both rousing and relatable. Your first 100 is a great book for beginners in the online space, or even offline but... Unfortunately I was at a different stage in the buyers journey when I read it. If you've done your research thoroughly, or your business is already established, Kothand book is a reminder more than anything. As always though, she writes with flare and ease, so you'll breeze through the book and be able to immediately apply the lessons if there are any you're not already doing. It's a solid little read but definitely targeted at beginners and as an entry point to Kothand's superb online repertoire. If you're not on her email list you need to be, that's where the real magic happens.
The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze. I quickly realized this was going to drag on and after a couple of sections began to skim the bold and headlines to find content I was interested in. Quite elementary can't say I found what I was looking for. The title doesn't match up with the expectations. It's more of a click-bait title which plays on the idea that you only need 100 raving fans. I feel like this book could have been cut in half. I got bored quickly with it.
In another short, but excellent book, the author shows you how to create and build your brand so you can market your products more effectively.
As always, her guide is filled with positive and practical tips and guidance which make you feel like you can achieve the goals she offers. The guide made me take a long hard look at my branding, which needs some fixing. I’m hopeful I can build from here to develop and sustain a loyal customer base.
If you’re struggling to get to grips with your brand and how to build your customer base, this is the book for you.
Your First 100 is an easy-to-read book that is straightforward. I'm working on building up a couple of side-gigs and I found the information Meera Kothand shared to be very valuable. I'm currently working on fine-tuning the touchpoints I identified with help from this book. This book is easy to follow. The book isn't that long but it took me a while to start going through all the books I have on my "To Read" shelf!
A reasonable introduction but no original insights
Kindle is flooded with lead magnets posing as books. Your First 100 does pass the test as a book, but only just. Most of what is in the book is rehashed content. The author does present it well and in a friendly manner but I didn't need to use the highlighter too often. That's what I buy books for. To learn. I think this book is aimed at entry level rather than an entrepreneur with any experience.
Meera puts forth extremely useful ideas and strategies to get and maintain your first 100 repeat customers. The information itself is exceptional for people starting a online business and are trying to drive people to buy their products. For the the bottom line of the book is to treat your customers the way you would like to be treated as a customer and you are on the right track.
I can tell the author took her time to research her topic so she can back up her clqims with factual information. I will definitely be reading this book again and implementing some of her strategies theoughtout my communications with my audience, client avatar and market.
Meera has taken the overwhelming concept of building brand loyalty and made it easy to understand. This book takes you step-by-step through every touchpoint with your customer to ensure they are delighted and want to come back for more. If you sell anything in the online space, you NEED to read this book!
This book was a helpful primer on marketing for the uninitiated. I did feel that the author was sometimes too theoretical and could have provided some concrete examples of what she was talking about for those ‘not in the know’ on digital marketing. I also think that a glossary of terms she uses in the book would have been useful.
I have recently expanded my brand from direct sales to something a little more. But I felt stuck not knowing what the next step was. I received this book as a part of a subscription box and felt like every page was dripping with notes on where to go and how to effectively do it. There are 24 pages worth of notes taken from this book and I feel like both the path and passionate fire are lit.
I read through the entire book in two days in order to get a good overview and to determine if the author's direction was one I was comfortable with. Now I'm going through it all again, worksheets in hand, to put it all to action. While reading this book I shifted out of overwhelm to being excited to get started.
I'm not working with digital products, I'm an artist working in oil painting, but, this book gives clear ideas on how to make your sales better. I'm at the very beginning of trying to get noticed in the art world which has different rules to follow, but in terms of using online platforms to get noticed I have some more ideas to plan. A very helpful book for soloprenures like myself.
I just feel like there weren't enough examples of real world use and it was just kind of like drinking from the fire hose. There wasn't enough time to be able to really understand the concepts. It would be more helpful she explained them in multiple different ways and told stories around them to make them more easily understood.
Really great read. Short and to the point. Tons of action steps. I have read books just like this one before but there was something about the structure that made it seem simple to implement. I will buy her other books as well.
It is refreshing to read about ideas that do not make you billionaire over night. I think the author's repeated attention to the receiver is the best lesson.
I really loved the ideas covered by Meera. The content given will help people who want to start their online journey i.e. Blogs, smart businesses, etc.
While there was helpful and specific information, it felt as though this was a completion of blog posts that I had read somewhere before. If this is your first look at a book like this, it should be a lot of new information.
This is a great how-to book for online entrepreneurs wanting to build an online business. Lots of tips and tricks with easy to follow steps. Yeah, it'll take time to implement everything, but this is a plan to make it happen.
So many key takeaways from this book which I haven't found elsewhere! I can't wait to implement them all! Highly recommend this book if you are a solopreneur.
