Mathias Engleborn was rarely considered a normal boy by any standards. A dreamer at heart, his endless imagination made Mathias a joy for some, a curiosity to most, and an outright nightmare for the local librarian. But all the enthusiasm and creativity in the world cannot prepare him for the day that he discovers Crescent Moon, an ancient book full of reluctant secrets and exciting adventures. Through the pages of Crescent Moon, he is introduced to Lunaria, a magical world of forgotten lore, dreams made real and untold possibility. Mathias is quickly taken upon a journey with the Prophet, a mysterious figure who calls upon fate to gather champions for the next chapter of an ageless battle between good and evil, darkness and light. Heroes rise, and destiny is shaped as Lunaria prepares for the inevitable conflict, holding to the hope that their greatest champion shall soon return. But until then, Lunaria must endure at all costs as every moment becomes more precious than the next. And as the story unfolds, Mathias realizes that the magic of Crescent Moon extends far beyond the confines of its aging pages. Somehow, he has become part of something bigger and this is only the beginning of the growing tale.
This book was amazing! There were almost no grammatical errors. The plot was amazing and the characters instantly draw you in. I ate this book up. Can’t wait to read the second one.
It is a beautiful thing when a children's book accomplishes it's purpose of teaching children while also teaching adults. This book was not made for my demographic, but it took me back to my childhood where I dreamed of fantastic worlds and I felt like a kid again.
If you want lighthearted stories of adventure and heroism that is great for both children and adults, look no further. I will definitely be getting this for my nephew when he starts reading chapter books.
This is a young adult fantasy book and reminded me, greatly, of a DND campaign. The characters are very easy to become while you're reading and I found myself very interested in certain characters. However, the book was full of happy, perfect world, unrealistic ends of conflict. It is a young adult fantasy novel though so this, kind of, makes sense. Plus there was a pretty obvious ending, maybe stolen from a pretty popular movie. Unlike the movie I mentioned, though, there will be more to this series and it will dive deep into the world and there will be many more conflicts and hopefully lots of happily ever after because, like I said, I love some of these characters. I would definitely recommend reading this. The world and characters are very interesting and the series has just begun. I'm very excited to read about Theophillius.
