Find out what happened at the covered bridge... Two Amish Mystery & Suspense Romance Novellas in one:
Adam had left her for dead under the covered bridge; thinking back, she might have been better off if she hadn't begged for her life.
The Bishop is hiding a horrible secret that could expose his sins if he defends his son's sinful acts. For Eva, getting shunned for their sins could be the answer to her prayers.
Lily can't forget what she saw; the community thinks she's making things up. When she suffers a breakdown after witnessing her mother's death from what is being called a freak accident, the Bishop says he has no choice but to shun her and her father, claiming it's for the good of the community, but what Lily knows could cause her to become the murderer's next target.
There are two stories with some common Characters. The first novel would be a 5 star. Suspense, evil, and God brings good out of the evil. I just never knew what was going to happen next. Codependent behaviors nearly ruined the lives of two young women. Abuse is learned and travels from parent to child. Love grows in unexpected places.
The second story completes the first. It needed a bit more effort to make it 5 star. The story line is tragic. Again something very good blossoms from the tragedy. Much more could have been done with this story. The author raced to a feel good ending but it lacked the depth and energy of the first story.
What an edge-of-your-seat story! This is not your run of the mill Amish novel!! Ms. Bayarr outdid herself with building the suspense and keeping it going throughout. All the Amish elements are here along with a gut dose of terror. One of the best books I've read in awhile!
It was a good read very abusive read although I enjoyed the books they were very heartbreaking in how Bishop and his son very abusive I do not read very many mystery but a very good read.
I enjoyed the adventure and suspense that the author has added to her Amish stories, proving there is more then farming and furniture in the life of the Amish.
I was totally surprised by how this book read. Usually so-called romance novels are girl and boy find each other, then something happens to tear them apart and in the end they get back together. This one did not follow this format. I was wonderfully pleased and plan to read other books by Me Bayarr
Actually, I was expecting this book to be not so good, but it proved me wrong. It was written short and sweet, got to the suspense, thriller, outcome, happiness, and the end. Just the way I like it. NEXT BOOK! J 😉
This was a great short book. I love amish settings and enjoyed it very much. A good message despite some tough subjects. I would recommend it for a weekend read.
I loved this it was a great amish mystery about twin sisters, a bishop and his son. Kept me in suspense wanted to keep reading to see what was going to happen.
I never read anything by this author before… I enjoyed her character development. There were several twists and turns.. lots of sadness, but a happy ending.
