Another hilarious, fun and exciting read in the series. I found this second book in the series a lot easier to get into than the first, the story has picked up pace more and I feel we're getting more development for Price, Aggy and the guys. Not that I'm saying we didn't get that in book one as we did but like most first books in a series you uncover that there are secrets to be revealed but not what they are and I love when we get to the part of the revealings. I though Price was a lot more comfortable in her own skin in this book and I loved that we're starting to see the romance develop. It's definitely a slow burn romance, which I love as I always enjoy the build up to the romance. I also liked Aggy a lot more in this book, she's getting funnier and she is a good character to have around to suddenly pop into a scene and make you laugh at her antics.
I'm enjoying this series so far and am looking forward to the third book. There are still a lot more secrets to be revealed and I think the biggest one will be regarding Price, although I think I may've guessed some bits about her (there are a few hints thrown our way in this book). I really do think these are a fun and exciting read and definitely the kind of book you pick up when you want a book to make you laugh and smile. Five stars from me.

The first one wasn't really bad, well neither is this one but I just don't like mysteries really. The only mystery I've every really liked was Harriet the Spy...and well that wasn't exactly a mystery lol. So while there were no issues with the technical of the book it just simply wasn't for me.

Nice fluff series. I read all three books this week and enjoyed it. It’s not very sexually graphic (between a PG-13 & R, really) and it appears they never finished writing this series- we don’t get Aggy’s resolution…that was the biggest bummer. If you can let go of the idea of completion, it’s good fluff.

A Vet Vanishes is the second book in the Cats, Ghosts and Avocado Toast novels - a fun, light-hearted, reverse harem series.
Price, her hot trio of sometimes-men-sometimes-house-cats, and Agatha, the ghost of the old witch with the bad attitude, are settling into life together. It isn’t always smooth, but things are looking up for Price now she’s no longer a murder suspect. That is, until her friend, local vet, Tracy, vanishes.
There are other disappearances to add to the mix, and why is Salem suddenly overrun by stray cats?
With a bunch of dodgy suspects, unhelpful police, and no guarantee that her cohorts won’t suddenly turn furry at inconvenient moments, Price is up to her neck in another mystery she can’t let go.
Finn, Tom and Pussy (who still won’t admit to a human name) are slowly developing as they begin to unpick their pasts, which might lead to answers about why Agatha cursed them to become cats in the first place. Some of the situations Price and her men/moggies get into are truly hilarious, and, like the first book, I found myself smiling along at the silliness of it all, while still wanting to read on and find out the answer to the central mystery.
The characters and dialogue are great, the men are hot, and the ghost is as snarky and deliberately inopportune with the timing of her appearances as in book one. I just wish the authors had taken the time for better proof reading – there are quite a few extra and missing words left over from editing, which I find disappointing in an otherwise well-written novel.
These books really should be read in order. Although each has a complete mystery which wraps up by the end, the character development is ongoing over the series, as is the slow burn romance, and the building number of hints about secrets and future reveals I’m looking forward to reading.
I went straight on to buy the next one, so this is a series I will continue to recommend for those who enjoy a fun paranormal romp filled with plenty of inuendo and a healthy dollop of humour.

Uhhh... so this one was confusing for me. Apparently, I read the unrated version of the initial book which doesn't completely correlate with the 2nd book in terms of Price's and the guy's relationship. We went from and I was scratching my head because I thought an unrated version would just have some additional dirty scenes as opposed to an entirely different chain of events.

In terms of the genre, I mentioned with the original book that this isn't really a subject I venture into very often. I find a get a little bored or impatient and I don't really enjoy them the way most people probably do. This wasn't really an exception to that. Most everything was annoyingly predictable to me or just dumb decisions/jumping to conclusions/etc. Price isn't exactly the brightest crayon in the crayon box.

For an RH book, this is super duper vanilla. I don't necessarily mind a slow burn but I saw a lot of people commenting their aggravation with that so I figured I'd throw out a heads up.

Overall: 3.2/5 - I was gonna go lower with my score but Finn's backstory just brought some soul into the story and it made me want to bother with the 3rd and final book. Props to Agatha at the end there. She's a trip and now we have proof she's got a heart of....gold? Molasses? Aggravated bees? Who knows...

Price is settling into her new life as the owner of a thrift shop and soon to be juice bar complete with her three gorgeous man/cats and her difficult ghost, Agatha. The shop is taking shape, Finn is starting to remember pieces of his former life, and Price and Agatha are working hard to restore Agatha's memories and power. Then the vet Tracy, Price's friend disappears and Price gets involved in the mystery of her disappearance. Plus, there's a surplus of stray cats all over the town. Price is just certain that this is a 'witchy' matter. If only her guys could remain in their human form long enough to help her investigate. At least they stay men long enough for things to heat up....

Lesbians and vegetarians! Vegan cupcakes and crowded showers! This is such a light-hearted read. You can't help but smile as you read through the antics and mishaps of this motley assortment of characters. One mystery, one grumpy witch, three sexy cats, one lovely vegan, lots of humor, plenty of shenanigans, a touch of romance, and a pinch of magic make up the recipe for a fun read!

Another Great Read!

Just like the first installment of this series, this second book did not disappoint. At time I laughed so loud I almost woke up everyone in the house...so be warned lmbo

This book was really well written. It's stayed true to the characters and their journey of mysteries. Incredibly funny at times. Steamy in others. I would like to add that the characters are slowly falling for each other. It's not just instant love/ sex in these books like other reverse harem noveks. There's an actual, believable story line of fantasy and magic and that's why I love them so far. Perfect for keeping you interested in order to find out what will happen next. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Again just like the first novel there are Grammar mistakes through out the book. Nothing I couldn't figure out but I think the author needs at least one more edit/ proofread before releaseing. Her stories are to good for these simple mistakes.

I Definitely recommend.

N.M. Howell and L.C. Hibbett are two of my absolute favorite authors. It should be no surprise then that I was delighted to get my hands on A Vet Vanishes, the absolutely hilarious and fun book 2 of their Cats, Ghosts, and Avocado Toast series. This “witchy reverse harem mystery “ is, quite simply, extremely imaginative, sexy, giggle-icious (I don’t care if that’s not a real word: it should be) and superbly written. It had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters. I frankly adore Agatha and love watching her take on everything that hits her. Finn, Tom, Pussy (poor Pussy) and the rest of the cast of characters are pretty amazing as well. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.

I just love this series as its not just about hot sexy oh so delicious men but also about Price fining out who she is and what she really wants in life, the guys finding out who they really are and helping Agatha access her magic and memories. Price is getting ready to re open the store now with a Juice bar but her friend Tracey is missing and the police aren't do much so well Price does the only thing she can ... she starts looking into what happened. I love how characters from book 1 make appearances in book 2 so the world building becomes even more solid and you invest more into the book, there are plenty of lol, oh no, what the hell and oh lordy moments within this book. It was great how I thought I knew what happened to Tracey and then finding out it was something different as the red herrings through out the book were so well done! Bring on book 3 as I need to know what Price does next, what more the guys remember and if more mysteries about Agatha are found!

Fun read. Entertaining universe. Can’t wait to see more from this author.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Fantastic RH cozy mystery!! Worth 10 stars!

My gosh I love this series! My two favoring genres rolled into one - it just doesn't get any better! Witches, three gorgeous cat-men, a snarky ghost, new friends, a new business and a new home...what more could a girl want out of life? Price walked into all of it when only expecting an assistants job at a thrift store. Her life has drastically changed and she's just starting to really settle in and accept it. With the acceptance, she and Agatha and Agatha's three familiars are all becoming closer - like a new, quirky family for Price.
I can't wait for the next book to see what kind of mischief the guys get into at Price's couch again ex's wedding. I know it'll be fun!

Another Fun Episode in the Series

This second book in the series picks up cleanly after the end of Book 1. There is some subtle reminders of what has already transpired to help anyone starting with this book. Fortunately, they aren’t distracting,

The story throws us into another mystery which serves as a great backdrop for the developing relationship of Price Jones, her three male cats/men, and the ghost of Agatha the witch.

The merged story plots were interesting. I did find the school boy sex jokes and innuendo a little overdone.

Character development is good. The narrative is sufficient to let your mind create a vivid picture of the places and events.

I’m looking forward to reading Book 3.

Cats on the prowl

Great read even if I wouldn't really call it a mystery. The thrift shop is nearly ready for opening and her relationship with her three men/cats is getting stronger. A frantic phone call from a friend sets her sleuthing. The vet has disappeared. Although the police want to help, they are tied up with other things. Can she find out where the vet is? What's the story behind all the cats that have suddenly appeared? This is more about her and the men rather than the mystery. It actually so answers the questions that surround why one of the men was turned into a cat. Great look at what makes the characters tick.

A Vet Vanishes: A hilariously witchy reverse harem mystery (Cats, Ghosts, and Avocado Toast Book 2) was written by N.M. Howell and L.C. Hibbett. Price has adjusted to her new life. She has three talking cats that are able to change into hot men and there is also the ghost of the woman who used to own the building hanging around. Then one of Price's friends goes missing. There are also a lot of cats running around that no one knows where they came from.
Overall, this was another great book in a good series. I thought I knew what was going to happen, then there was a slight twist. This series is definitely worth checking out.

The second book in this series really captivated my attention and I so much more invested in all the characters and their lives for this book. The pace of the book flowed well and even though I liked book one as the story continues it gets better and better! I absolutely love Price the FMC in this book, she is so much more herself and comfortable being who she is in this book. The story has so many laugh out loud moments and some great beginnings to the romance. A definite slow burn story with some excellent supporting characters! Highly recommended and cannot wait for book 3!!!

Personally, I got Book #2 simply because of the cat men and was not disappointed. Aside from being rather silly - I am sure everyone, as I, figured out why the town was inundated with cats, at least we got to see and learn more of the cat men, a little of their story and, with at last one of them, why they were turned into cats.
If I read any more of this series, it will be because I would like to know more about Finn, Tom and Pussy and where it goes from here, and hope that the next book will have a little more of a sensible sorry.

A brilliant addition to the series!!

I was extremely entertained by this book. The story
line in this one was better than the first one. The 1st
one was great, too. Don't get me wrong. I love the
characters, especially the " cats ". Aggy, the ghostly
witch, is lovable even in her cranky modes. I'm
totally into this new series and am anxiously looking
forward to the 3rd book. I do recommend this series
to all mystery lovers and cat lovers as well.

Cats and Vets

Price is still trying to get her new business ready for it's reopening when she learns that her friend the vet is missing. The police don't seem too interested, so she decides to investigate on her own. Well not exactly on her own. She has her three "house cats" and the ghost of the former owner of the shop. The other strange thing is the sudden over abundance of stray cats in town.

A tease

This book was a great addition to this series. Filled with mystery, discovery, sexual tension, and lots of laughter. This books ends with another lovely happy for now but we did get a few questions answered even though there's still plenty left to address. Some of the book and potential clues for future happenings felt like a big old tease but in a good way. Very good book would recommend.

I enjoyed the blurb in the first book and thought it sounded cute. A light chick-lit RH book. Well, if this is a RH, it's a little too slow burn for me. Nothing happened in the first book, and so far all she's done is kiss one of the guys. I don't care for any of the characters honestly. I can't seem to connect to their personalities. I'm guessing this series is not my cup of tea. I'm DNFing this one.

I need the next book in the series NOW! This is the funniest, the most fun thing I’ve read in a while. I’m rather proud of myself for figuring out what was going on fairly early in the story, but I certainly didn’t guess the who or the why. There’s still so much of the backstory to tell, I can’t wait to find out more.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Light and easy to read reverse harem book

It was an easy to read and fluffy book about reverse harem and their woman. It was supposed to v be a mystery book with all of the suspense in it but there were none. Plus, I don’t get excited about how they look. I’d rather be reading more about how they were feeling and thinking.

Price's life continues to get weirder

Price has inherited Agatha's business and familiars. Her familiars are 3 cats named Tom, Finn and Pussy. Unlike other witches familiars Price's become human again when she touches them. Her friend the vet has disappeared and Price decides to try and find Tracy herself with the help of her men/cats. I highly recommend this book and series.

Good book

This book was even better then the first. There was a mystery to be solved and a RSVP that I cannot wait to read about in the next book. It was funny enough that I laughed out loud more than once and the boys are cute.
