4 Playful Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was such a FUN book that kept me smiling from first page to last! The fact that this delightful romcom was written by a man is remarkable! I am super impressed a man truly understood what women want! Well done Rich Amooi!

Do you believe in soulmates? Madam Love does... or are you more of a realist? Best selling author Lance is... so after a spirited discussion on a local radio station a challenge is thrown down... Madam Love is convinced Lance will find a soulmate... Lance is convinced he won’t, but then he meets Emma and he is confused... and what’s even more confusing Emma is Madam Love..... actually!

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes... I love all that sasssy banter and we definitely got that in this book! We also got so many hilarious moments mixed with some very sweet moments as well...Emma and Lance are really likable characters, so multi dimensional... I loved every part of this book with the two of them together, no matter who they were at that moment...

So who wins the challenge? And does Lance learn to believe in soulmates? Will Emma hang up her matchmaking Crystal ball? You will need to read this book to find out! And I strongly encourage you to do so!

Perfect summer read! This book is filled with so much laughter and love... but warning if you read this in public don’t be surprised if you get strange looks because you’re laughing so hard😂

*** many thanks to the author and Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for my copy of this book ***

Favorite Quotes:

Do you think you have enough red and purple in this room? It looks like a combined shrine to Prince and Valentine’s Day.

It says here on this website that the life expectancy of fortune tellers and psychics is ten years less than that of a normal person… Killed by their disgruntled clients, I’m guessing.

My dad was a military man— a colonel in the Air Force. We never got along, so when I had the opportunity to name our new dog in high school, I chose the name General. I just thought it would be funny to have a dog that outranked my dad.

My Review:

Oh, what fun! This was my first experience reading the talented Mr. Amooi and I found his work a delightful treat. His characters were endearingly quirky and the writing was pleasantly entertaining, amusing, and as comfortable as smooth jazz. It was a quick, light, and easy to follow tale with a vibrant cast and a silky flow. Lance and Emma were an adorable and sweet couple with an instant and electrifying connection that threatened to fry their circuits. After his prickly introduction, I didn’t expect to enjoy the character of Lance as much as I did but I cannot resist a handsome and charming man who names his puppy Typo and teaches him to cha-cha, loves cupcakes, finds a woman cute when she snorts with laughter, jumps in with first aid for a stranger, and recycles without being reminded. I mean, really, very few women could resist all that!

5☆ A Fun, Light Hearted Rom Com

Madam Love, Actually is a Fun Loving Rom Com that I thoroughly enjoyed.

First of all I want to say how much I loved the Cover. It caught my eye and had me intrigued.

Madam Love believes in love and finding your Soul Mate. She is a fortune teller that helps singletons find their soul mates.
I believe this too. I believe there is someone out there for everybody.
Author Lance doesn't believe in Soul Mates.
He is against the idea.

So what happens when the two clash on a radio show and Madam Love tells Lance he WILL find his Soul Mate.

But what he doesn't expect is to meet Madam Love in person.
Could Madam's prediction become reality?
Will it be Madam Love to capture his heart?

Madam Love, Actually is such a fun read, that restores faith in finding ones perfect match/soul mate.
I really liked the witty, sarcastic banter between Lance and Emma. It kept the romantic suspense between them, and there is certainly some serious sexual tension between them.
The characters were well written, likeable and fun. There was plenty of humour, wit, drama, romance and plenty of charm.

I found my Soul Mate I hope you can find yours!

This truly is a feel good read with a whimsical romantic feel. Perfect if you looking for a cosy light hearted easy read.

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

It was okay, a fun short read for a Sunday and I breezed through it. I nearly DNF'd when I realised fortune teller actually meant fortune teller but hey ho, I liked their story anyway.

In all honesty I think I expected too much as I had wanted/hoped for a unlikely romance between a Lance, our skeptic, and a matchmaker more in the vein of Ellen from Love Solutions in How I Met Your Mother who matches people using algorithms and maths or Patty the Millionaire Matchmaker who just looks the old fashioned way. I feel like the challenge might have been more fun that way.

This was a phenomenal romance! When Rachel first sent me an email about this book, I was over the moon. I feel that this novel could have easily been a film as well!😀 The main characters were great and they went through the plot in the most ideal way possible. I also loved that the main character is a fortune teller since I do a bit of fortune telling myself. This novel was truly something magical!💖

Madam Love, I want a man as hot and strong as Jason Momoa *sighs*, that looks sexy in a uniform, is a bad boy, but has a tender sweet side and….oh wait! This story isn’t about me, Darnit!

Madam Love, also known as Emma Wright, is a fortune teller who helps singles find their soulmate. She is great at her job and has a true gift to bring singles together and showing them that happily ever afters really does exist. Lance Parker is a bestselling author and his book, Your Soulmate Doesn’t Exist, is a realist. He does not believe in all this nonsense about soulmates. Lance believes that most women are living in a dream world when it comes to love. Romance books heroes are not real (Wait what? Romance book heroes are not real? *passes out*). When a live radio show brings Madam Love and Lance together sparks and insults start to fly. Lance believes fortune tellers are crocks and Madam Love sets out to prove to Lance that even someone as bitter and jaded as him has a soulmate and with her help she will make sure Lance finds her. Can two people who hate each other so much come to realize that they were truly meant for each other?

I am definitely a big believer in fate. Everything in your life happens for a reason. I can see how fate plays a role in bringing Emma and Lance together even though they both have different beliefs in love. Emma is determined to lead Lance to his soulmate, but fate keeps rearing its head, placing Emma in Lance’s path time and time again. Lance does not even know Emma is Madam Love as she wears a disguise while working. Lance finds himself drawn to Emma and they have an explosive chemistry and as much as Emma tries to avoid him, fate keeps bringing them together. Just her luck!

I really love the chemistry between Emma and Lance. They clash heads quite frequently and it is absolutely hysterical every time they argue. In a way, it’s like they are trying to one up each other with the insults which made me laugh out loud practically throughout the entire story. Emma is such an interesting character because as Madam Love, she is this quirky and snarky fortune teller that gives as good as she gets. On the other hand when she is just Emma, she is sweet and at times shy. Lance really is a stand up guy and like Emma there are two sides to him as well. He can act like a jerk in front of Madam Love and then on the other side act really sweet with Emma.

What comes as even more of a nice surprise for me is that the author is a man (I know right!). I don’t know of many RomCom authors who are men and can write such a hilarious romance like Madam Love, Actually. You Sir sure do know what women like. It is such a pleasure to see a male author take on the romance genre that is dominated primarily by female authors. Rich Amooi you rock!

Madam Love, Actually is a romantic comedy that I just absolutely adored. It is a delightful and charming story full of laughter and wit with characters you just can’t help but fall in love with. Even though this is my first read from Rich Amooi, it certainly will not be my last.

So Madam Love…..about Jason Momoa….oh who I am kidding I would probably wind up meeting Al Bundy! I guess I’ll be sticking with romance book hotties! Grrr…

I've been interested in reading one of Rich Amooi's books for awhile now, but just hadn't gotten around to it. When I read the synopsis for this one, though, I knew it was one I needed to give a try. And I was not disappointed! In fact, I can't wait to read more books by this author now! I believe that Madam Love actually is a minor character in another book by the author, so I figure I'll go back and start with that one.

The characters were great, I could totally see each of them as they were written. Whenever they ended up together it was hilarious. I love how the little coincidences ended up getting Lance and Emma together, or should I say Lance and Madam Love. While I almost feel a bit of the same with how no one knew Superman and Clark Kent were the same person, I could let that go enough to get into the story and just fall in love.

I was in the story yelling at Emma so many times to just go ahead and tell Lance. Even though I know that she really needed to win the bet in order to save her business, I didn't really ever get the feeling from her that made her seem greedy or wrong about doing that. It wasn't on the top of her mind the whole time, and that's why when at the end she mentioned it, I still wasn't angry at her for what she had done.

I saw another reviewer mention that they knew who they wanted Madam Love to set them up with, and I laughed, because that is exactly how everyone came to her, asking for exactly what they wanted. I'd just like to find a real Madam Love to tell me what three things I need to do in order to meet my soulmate. At this point, I'm eager to find him no matter what he looks like or who he is!

This book was so good that I had trouble making myself stop reading and go to sleep, even when I had to get up the next morning. I am so glad I was on summer break for this one, because I did stay up quite late on the nights I was reading it.

Hilarious and chaotic and stressful and completely wonderful

Oh my goodness, this man knows how to write for women. Emma is darling as both leading ladies, and Lance is a great leading man. Sure, you know what’s probably going to happen. Yeah, there’s the whole silly electric-touch trope, but he takes it and makes it funny and it works. The chemistry between the two is excellent, with no shortage of playful banter. No language and squeaky clean, this romance is a perfect afternoon alternative to watching your go-to rom com. (And while I’m not personally advocating fortune telling or psychics, it’s fiction. Go with it, darling. You’ll laugh and love it.)

I want to start off by saying that Rich Amooi books just make me so happy. So when Rachel sent an email about his blog tour I had to snap the chance up quickly to be on it. Then I drove everyone insane for a couple of days on Twitter to get them to sign up and join the tour. (Not that I think it would have been a hard task).  Last year before I started blogging, it took me four months to finish a book and I was in such a reading funk. I found Rich Amooi “Five minutes late” and I devoured it in one sitting. The book made me so happy. I adored it and I knew I had to read more! What I loved, even more, is that it is a man writing the books, in a predominately woman orientated genre, to me makes this even better as he got the woman psyche spot on - kudos to you!

Fast forward seven months and it was my first chance to pick up another of his books. He has not disappointed me at all!

This book is such a cute and easy read. Doesn’t matter you know what is going to happen to the lead characters it is how they get there, that is the fun part.

Emma being Madam Love, (actually) finds true love for people by what she sees in her crystal ball. She, however, is not a fraud. She can really find you your soulmate! She guides you to do three things to do and if you do all three you will meet your soul mate.

Lance, a non-believer of soul mates, writes a book and calls her a fraud, all because what had happened in the past. Now they have a challenge set live on air, Madam love has to find him a soulmate. Oh, darling what could go wrong.

Well, plenty actually...

Lance meets his soul mate, the one he never thought he would meet, didn't believe he would meet. He took her on the best dates, coincidence or not it happened. He fell in love with her within two weeks, the only problem his soul mate is Emma.....yes Emma, you know Emma, you know who I mean, ok ok well she is Madam Love. (Don't worry it is not a spoiler, I checked first!)

I have also got to do a shout out to a character I loved Typo the dog (and I am a cat person!) he is such a cute dog, and he knew when he saw Emma that she was the one for Lance, especially as he growled at anyone who went near Lance lol.

The story with these two was so funny to read! How they ended up in the same places and how she was reading her own destiny without realising it. I am a huge believer of soul mates so I was hooked, lined and sinkered (I know it's not a real word) with this book.  The only thing I couldn't get my head around was the whole Superman/Clarke Kent, Supergirl/Kara, Batman/Bruce Wayne (you get the picture), scenario how did Lance not realise it was her! But to be fair, it added to the charm and the zap of the story.

I was completely engrossed in this book and didn’t want any interruptions ( blinking lunch breaks being too short) even doing bedtime with the little one, I  read it to her because I didn’t want to put it down. It was a welcome read after all the dark thrillers I have read lately, and who can go wrong with a bit of romance! The book was cute, light and non-stop, I loved the banter between the three characters - Emma and Madam Love are two separate people, now come on...keep up.  When I read the acknowledgements at the end of the book, I found out that Emma/Madam Love had a cameo in another book...so you know the score right....need me to get on to Amazon and buy Lilliana Jones and the Temple of Groom.

Until next time

This book was such a fun read with all the elements of a classic RomCom. As always I wish that someone would pick up one of Rich Amooi's books and turn it into a movie. I have never been disappointed or bored by a single title (and I've read all except two to date). Each character enriches the storyline in their own way right down to the mandatory pets. And in all honesty, even though the book was about Emma and Lance, I am so curious about Randy and his amazing cupcakes. You just have to do a book about that. A must-read for RomCom lovers.

When I need a escape Rich's books never disappoints 🙌🏻 he has become an 1-click author for me, and I don't have many of those.

Madam Love, Actually is a delightful and charming story with wonderful characters as always, and plenty of sass and snark and laugh out loud moments.

I recommend picking up a book by Rich Amooi, who time and time again proves that he truly is the king of RomComs.

This is the story of Emma Wright, known as Madam Love to her clients in San Francisco. Madam Love tells her clients how about meeting ‘the one.’ She has a step of instructions for her to get to the person of her dreams, but can’t tell her the specifics. I cannot tell you how taken I was with Emma straight away in both iterations, both as herself, and as the talented Madam Love. As Madam she is the totally together, wig and fortune teller garb adorning, tell it like it is because I’m totally right, fortune teller, but as Emma things are a bit more difficult, with bills to pay, rent increases and a decision made that she herself will never meet the love of her life.

Enter arrogant Lance Parker. I loved him too and was practically jumping up and down when I met him on air, speaking about his book ‘Your soulmate doesn’t exist.’ (Guess what it’s about). He was sarcastic and cheeky and yet rational and lovely and if I hadn’t been in before (I was, from the get go), I was most definitely all in when Emma rang in as Madam Love to put her two cents in and we found out that he’s also fully against fortune tellers too. And so a challenge is put to Lance; take Madam Love’s advice and NOW try to prove there’s no such thing as a soul mate and that fortune tellers are frauds.

So now it’s up to Madam Love to send Lance off to meet his perfect match, only she doesn’t realise that fate has made a decision for her too! The magic in this book, the intervention of fate, is genius, as wee see how one decision changed, can suddenly impact others and yet one thing knocking on to another, was very likely always decided.

I do see what I’ve done here, I’ve just told you all about the book and not gone into the characters (swoonerific, not just the mains, but her landlord and partner in crime Randy), the pacing (perfection, what with the back and forward between Emma, Madam Love and Lance that you watched with, jaw slightly dropped , as if watching a movie heading to a climax that had me holding my breath), the settings (oh and what a dog festival, especially because I got to meet the lovely Typo!) and the general perfectness of the romance and zingy chemistry. I defy people not to read this book and smile, laugh, gasp and swoon and will never be able to recommend it enough-totally up my street and beyond recommended and I cannot WAIT to get to the author’s back catalogue!

Rating: A million out of five (that’s a five;))

An enjoyable read. I liked the concept, I love a good ol' "I'm pretending to be someone else" trope. I once again need to mention that Rich Amooi really needs a new formula, the conflicts always feel exactly the same and then they're resolved the same way. It's fine every once in a while but c'mon, it's too much. Nevertheless, I still had a fun time with this one. I loved Emma and Lance (when he wasn't being a complete douche).

This is a cute, clean rom-com that deteriorates if you think about it. so don't

Emma is a psychic who works under the nom de plum of Madam Love.
On one particularly bad day she hears a radio show where a male author is debunking the idea of soul mates
Since Emma's business is finding people's soul mates she calls in and how you know it's fiction - gets right through to a national syndicated talk show that is broadcast from her town.
She and the author make a bet that she will find him his soul mate
And I am sure we know what happens next.

Short, sweet, simple summer read.

I have been a fan of this author's works for a while and he has a brilliantly witty writing style that I love - and I am very pleased to say that it was no different in this book!

I really enjoyed the plot for this one, the characters were brilliant and they had me giggling throughout the book - Emma/Madam Love is a fantastic character and I instantly warmed to her! Definitely a book to read if you were feeling down for an instant pick me up - it is fabulous!

Five stars from me, a very funny story that had me smiling from start to finish!

Great premise; horrible execution. The dialogue was so stilted that it threw me out of the story every few minutes, and the author clearly never took "show, not tell" to heart.

Also, there's insta-love (which is annoying) and then there's this. Not only did Lance change his opinion of Madam Love pretty much out of thin air, but also changed his entire philosophy, with crystal clarity of why he held these beliefs. (Trying to be less spoilery, but...). Literally overnight, he's all "well, I guess I don't hate her because I'm just transferring my feelings and she's real omg! I respect her soooooo much!" (insert completely unrealistic heart-eyes here).

Also also: for serious here. If one radio show that had maybe 100K listeners could tank your entire (presumably nation-wide/worldwide) author career...you didn't have much of a career to begin with.

There are plot holes big enough to drive an SUV into, and conflicting logic-bombs scattered around the entrance to those holes. The landlord character, for instance -- he raised her rent because of his business partner, who was apparently more in charge than he is. But then later, he says that his partner doesn't do much and is off on some beach vacation. So which is it? Is the partner the real boss, and if so, why is Randy putting up with it? Or is he just a partner in name only, which means that Randy's a giant capitalist asshat who's willing to put his friend out on the street for more rent money? And if so, why is he pretending to be Emma's friend?

It's all just ridiculous stuff like this. I don't know if the writer had a content editor, but wow. Fire them, if they did, because a lot of it flows weirdly, has stilted (at best) dialogue, and is as logical as lighting yourself on fire to keep warm.

(The only reason I didn't give it one star is because there's a cute dog who literally dances. We needed more of the dog, though, since clearly he was the smartest one of the cast.)

EDITED TO ADD: So I just wanted to see if the author had any other books, and whether this was his first one (in which case I'd cut him just a wee bit of slack -- everyone's first efforts are sort of like the first pancake.). And not only is it NOT his first book, it's like his fifteenth or something (I didn't count), and the last one is "It's not PMS, It's You", with a one-dimensional "bitch" character that I'm sure's going to have her whole worldview softened by luuuurve. Because all tough women are bitches, you know. (eyeroll)

Skip this one. Skip aaaalll of these, y'all.

MY RATING GUIDE: A satisfied 3.5 Stars for “Madam Love, Actually,” a Light, Pick Me Up Romance.
I enjoyed the performance by Tim Paige on my reread.

1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= This was okay/fairly good; 3.5= I enjoyed it; 4= I liked it a lot; 5= I Loved this; it was great! (I SELDOM give 5 Stars).

Ms. Madam Love/FMC, 40yrs old and single, is a relationship psychic who claims good success matching people to their forever Soulmate. Lance Parker/MMC, single and probably in his 40’s, is an author with a bestselling book titled Your Soulmate Doesn’t Exist. While Lance is the featured guest on a radio program promoting his book, Madam Love calls in challenging him. She claims Everyone Does have a soulmate, even him. Madam Love dares Lance to make an appointment with her and she will help Lance find his soulmate. And the fun begins.

When I picked up “Madam Love, Actually” I wanted to read a light & fun “Pick Me Up” novel. I completed it in about 2hrs and it had me smiling and snickering to myself - exactly as I had hoped. For whatever reason, reading this novel reminded me of the vintage Lucille Ball or Mary Tyler Moore skits - simple, comedic, escapism. Certain scenes are slightly ridiculous.

I recommend “Madam Love, Actually” to readers who either prefer quick reading, light romantic comedies or perhaps simply desire a break away from their usual suspense, fantasy, thriller, dark or angst-filled novels. “Madam Love, Actually” is a “Seasoned Romance” trope novel (characters older than 30) as well as an “Enemies to More” trope novel. “Madam Love, Actually” also happens to be a Clean novel (see below). I have previously read five other novels by Rich Amooi. He has quickly become one of my “Go To” authors when I’m looking for a breath of fresh air - something bright, sweet, and positive to take me away for awhile - perfect for the end of a long day, or a hard week, or (lately) as a much needed “COVID” break. “Madam Love, Actually” is a standalone novel. Readers who prefer steam with their romance, should look elsewhere.

Reader Cautions -
Profanity - No. None.
Violence - No. None.
Sexual Situations - No. None. Simply sweet kisses.
Madam Love, Actually is not a book about psychics, rather it is simply a novel in which relationships, dating, and honesty cross. Suitable reading for all ages 16yrs and up.

Madam Love, Actually is another comedic win penned by the hilarious author Rich Amooi. This story focuses on a character that is introduced in a previous novel [Lilliana Jones and the Temple of Groom] however you don't need to have read that book in order to understand and enjoy this one. Madam Love is an insightful and gifted young woman that has a real talent for helping people find their true love. How can someone that hasn't found their own soulmate in life help others find their true love? Upon listening to an infuriating story on the radio Madam Love embarks on what turns into a chaotic adventure and ultimately becomes the path to her own destiny.

Our destiny and path in life are often achieved through mindful intentions and if we let it, true love can work in a similar fashion; if someone follows the instructions they receive from Madam Love they will find their soulmate. However, some clients are not willing to follow Madam's guidance and oftentimes they're more concerned with the materialistic aspects of a significant other rather than focusing on finding the person they're meant to be with.  If you're looking for a fun girly read that never disappoints, I recommend picking up a book by Rich Amooi, who time and time again proves that he truly is the king of romantic comedies.

*I received a free ARC of this book via Rachel’s Random Resources blog tour. The decision to review and my opinions are my own.*

Madam Love, Actually is a fun, light-hearted romantic comedy.

For fans of Hollywood rom-coms the plot will seem quite familiar: two people with opposing ideologies enter into a wager that requires one of them to fall, or not to fall, in love. Naturally shenanigans follow, including cute dogs, cupcakes and a bit of Mrs Doubtfire-style character-swapping comedy.

Rich Amooi gives the classic formula his own twist with Emma’s genuine gift for psychic matchmaking, and the truly romantic dates that Lance organises for his mystery woman. Personally I particularly enjoyed the formula Emma follows of setting three tasks for her soulmate-searching clients, and seeing how that played out with the sceptical Lance, her biggest challenge to date.

I did think that Lance gets a bit of bad press at the start of the novel (and in the blurb), but I guess that he brings that on himself with his abrasive attitude and it was nice to see him grow as the story develops. Emma is adorable, but most of her problems are, of course, self-caused and I did occasionally grind my teeth with frustration as she took another step deeper into her tangled web!

In Madam Love, Actually, Rich Amooi has created a gentle, witty romcom with plenty of scope for further spin-offs in the characters of Randy the Cupcake King and long-suffering best mate Pete. Hopefully Madam Love will get on their cases next and help them find the soulmates they need!

Lance chuckled. “First… should I call you Miss Love? Or do you prefer Madam?”
“Madam Love, actually.”
“Okay… Madam Love, Actually. Tell me –”
“You didn’t answer the question.”
“Feisty. I like that. But I need to know… how do you sleep at night?”
“On my side with a full-length body pillow. I snore less that way.”
Lance sat up in his chair and ignored her answer. “You claim to be a real fortune teller? That’s what you call yourself?”
“Yes,” Madam Love said. “I’m also known as a human whisperer, a psychic, a clairvoyant, and a medium…”

Madam Love aka Emma has a problem with her work she doesn’t have customers enough to pay her bills and her “business” is at risk. She is a fortune teller precisely a matchmaker. Emma tells her clients what to do to find their soulmate. One radio emission turns her attention and angers her that she makes a call. Lance Parker a bestselling author of Your Soulmate Doesn’t Exist is live on the radio and explains why he doesn’t believe in soulmates. When Madam Love opposes him live in the air. The radio hostess arranges the challenge Madam Love has two weeks to find Lance’s soul mate.

But, he doesn’t believe that soul mate exists how it could work? Emma thinks that he is an arrogant and impossible man how she could find him someone who will fall in love with him?

OMG! This is the funniest and entertaining romantic comedy that I ever read. I admit this is the first book from Rich Amooi that I’ve read and I promise it won’t be the last. This book caught me till the first page:

“I want a man who looks like Gerard Butler, has deep pockets like Bill Gates, cooks like the Barefoot Contessa, and has the fashion sensibilities of a gay man.”

It’s about two diametric different persons fall in love, lies and finding a soul mate to someone that doesn’t believe in it. I felt so strongly for this story, read it in one breathe and laugh out loud.

“Yes, but I want to make sure you know how important it is for my man to have very large feet. You know what they say about men with big feet, right?”

Emma knew exactly what they said, but she wasn’t going there. “It’s hard for them to find shoes in their size?”

Brenda’s high-pitched laugh was like the clucking cry of a goose in the middle of an egg-laying marathon, but the psychotic euphoria was short-lived when she choked on her own saliva.

When Lance accepts a challenge it starts being roller coasting funny.

“Well, darling… I’m really not sure which garbage I belong in, you know, me being a fortune teller and all. I just want to make sure I place myself in the proper receptacle since tomorrow is pickup day in my neighborhood.”

Peter covered his face with the palms of his hands.

“Do I go in the regular garbage or in the recycle bin?” Madam Love said.”Compost, maybe? Unless you think I’m radioactive.”

Emma is a sweet and smart woman, I like it how she talks and deals with the stressful situation.

Also, I like Lance personality which it seems like an arrogant man without a sense of love and serendipity in the first place, but then it shows that he is a believer.

I recommend this book to everyone who wants fast page tuners, laugh-out-loud reads and happy ends.
