* Book read in Dutch.

Rebekka and her stepsister Anastasia are not just the best of friends, they're also connected from the moment they met on a deeper level. So when Anastasia is mysteriously murdered, Rebekka will do everything in her power to get revenge. In her search she comes into contact with the Guadian Angels, a group lead by a mysterious priest who believes in using all means necessary to defeat the ultimate evil. So when a fallen angel atatcks their headquarters, Rebekka and her new friends will do everything to protect the world.

Pro's:
+ The thing I liked most about this book is the transition. It starts describing Rebekka's normal, ordinary life and how her biogolical parents divorced and how her father got into a relationship with Anastasia's mother. It gradually becomes darker and the fantasy element slowly creeps into the story. Very natural and gradually and therefore it felt like this is the way the world usually turns.
+ The instant connection between Rebekka and Anastasia is very cute and endearing. Even though they are stepsisters, they feel like real sisters and when they turn out to be Soulmates, everything falls into place.

Con's:
- The thing that made this book VERY hard to get through is all the religious blabla. The biological mother of Rebekka was/ is a religious fanatic and therefor her father and Rebekka herself are not very into anything that has to do with God. Then Anastasia turns out to be something different entirely and then the religious lid if of the barrel and the author cannot seem to stop writing about it.
- Why are there 72 chapters in a 291 page book? Very confusing and it made this book harder to read because of it. I have a feeling the author does something in theatre, because all the 3-page chapters made this feel more like the script of a play than an actual book made for reading.
- Usually I don't mention this, but I've never read a more misleading summary than the one on this book. It mentioned a battle between angels and demons, which I like, but after reading the book I can assure you that the book is very different from the summary. I would not have bought this, if the summary would have been truthful.

This was a hard one to get through. I know I'm personally biased, based on personal experience, but I do not like a lot of religious indoctrination. And this book definitely has a strong vibe of being that way. Also, it was very hard to get through due to there being way to much chapters. I think the author is a plotter, very noticable in the beginning of this book were every 3 pages he hops from one subject to the next. I cannot recommend this with a good conscience, the summary is very misleading and it was definitely a big let down. Disappointment :(

I really liked this book because it really surprises you. The story doesn't go as you would expect it to go. Beautiful girl gets killed in an ally but it turns out it was all planned after her birth.
Misery and suffering are really keywords in this book.
It is easy to read and the story is very unique.
I love the way the two soulmates are telling their own story.
Both worlds very similar and very unique.
The ending is open and makes you wondering for more.
I will definitely read the next one.
