Leilani

Rate this book
When Leilani is continuously abused by her foster father, she comes up with a plan to escape and to never return. At 16, she didn't know that being in the real world would be cold, dark, and lonely. She thought that once she ran away, her life would have changed for the better. Leilani becomes overwhelmed and has thoughts of backtracking back into the arms of her abuser. Her thoughts are thrown out the window when she meets Dee, the owner of a popular strip club in Harlem. He introduces her to the world of stripping and her mindset changes. She was told that in life you had to hustle in order to get what you wanted. She takes Dee up on his offer to work for him, and agrees to stay with the other strippers in the home he provides for them. Of course, since she is new in the house, everyone ignores her, and makes sure she feels non existent. When she meets Kristal, the top earning stripper at Dee's nightclub, things begin to change for the better. She takes Leilani under her wing and teaches her all she needs to know about the stripping life. They become extremely close, but Leilani notices that one girl in particular, Aliyah has been hating on her ever since she joined the crew. Unbeknownst to Leilani, Aliyah orchestrates a plan to get Leilani out of her life, permanently. When murder and jealousy meet each other, Leilani finds herself in a predicament that she can't escape.

The book was kool

This book was way to short. But it was a good story. I'm just sorry, she didn't get to interact with the guy who saved her.
