She was raised in a town so small, it was technically a village at the time, where she spent her childhood running through the woods behind her house and reading as many books as she could.
Cassie hails from a family of writers, authors, English majors, and journalists, so it was no surprise when she wrote her first episodic series at the age of eight, and her first chapter book at the age of ten. She read the entire Teen section at her local library in a single summer and quickly moved on to larger tomes.
Taking inspiration from authors such as Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, McCaffrey, Rice, movies like The Last Unicorn, The Neverending Story, and Willow, and an insatiable interest in mythology and folklore from around the world, she wrote her first fantasy novel with extensive world-building and a large cast of characters at twelve years old.
Cassandra is a frequent guest at conferences and conventions, speaking on topics of writing, publishing, and marketing. She has had the honor of sitting on panels with Nebula and Hugo Award-Winning Authors, Mary Robinette Kowal & Amal El-Mohtar, Hugo Award-Winning Author, Jim C. Hines, and Multi-Award Winning and Nominated Author, Mary Ann Mohanraj, among many others.

Grab your favorite feline friend and a cup of tea to enjoy this fun romp through present-day Paris by way of ancient Egypt. Dorothy Claes is a delightful heroine, more than capable of kicking butt (she's mastered jiu-jitsu as well as the art of being blunt) but much more interested in solving a mystery using her smarts, her contacts in the world of antiquity academia, and her instincts for finding goodhearted people to help her.
I appreciated that cats and cat legends feature prominently in the story, but that it's the humans who have to gather clues and solve the mystery. If you read this book with your fur-baby on your lap, as I did, you'll find yourself giving him or her extra snuggles as the mystery reaches its climax and you wonder whether the missing kitties will make it home safely from... well, I won't give that away. ;) I also liked that Dorothy, a widow, has some chances to feel nostalgic for her deceased husband, but that she is also independent, embracing this new chapter of her life.
For me, the end came too soon. I wanted more time to get to know Dorothy, Aaron, and the mysterious Silver Foxes. Some characters are only introduced briefly, and we don't get a chance to connect with them before they're gone. On the plus side, though, this makes for fast pacing and a page-turning plot that quickly escalates to a tense climax. A quick read with a fun mix of mystical magic, danger, adventure, cute cats, tea, and French pastry.

If you love cats, mysteries, and female sleuths (or any one of those), I think you'll find this book fun and different. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series!

I love love love this book !! It shows that no matter what our age we are never to old for an adventure and/or a new career. If you love action, laughter and a little mischief then I suggest you give this book a try, you won’t be disappointed !! Thank you for the opportunity to escape life in such a delightful way !!

A cozy mystery with a sprinkling of fantasy about a recently widowed woman recruited by a secret organization to find and contain “special” artifacts. No romance or spice. Has a wonderful black cat. A good enough story for me to want to pursue the next book in the series.

Cute story the main character Dorothy is a middle aged widow, who discovers her Father's secret life as a spy. Dorothy and her cat Solomon are asked to look into the disappearance of some show cats and the book takes a poignant turn when Solomon disappears.

Great cozy spy mystery with a dash of world history and folklore! I don't typically read this genre of books, but the author made the historical aspects easy to follow and understand. It was fun to learn about these things while enjoying the story. The storyline itself was interesting and kept my attention. I'm looking forward to reading the rest in the series!
