May 1st. 1888 Lance and Cora Laredo bought the twelve thousand acre Randal Hemphill Ranch, which lay along the Pecos River, eight miles south of Fort Sumner, New Mexico. The money came from hard work and a huge gift from his father, a railroad tycoon. Lance was twenty four years old and Cora twenty. Their children, Lance Jr and twin sister Laney were three years old when they moved into their massive two story house. A few short months later, Cora took up Lance’s forty five and went looking for four men that had left Lance in a wheel chair, maybe for life. This was one mad woman. Those men had hurt the man she loves.
Another great Shorty Thompson novel by a very versatile Author! I have read all of this series and everyone of them is above the average westerns, with with an extraordinary tale of wonder in each book. I have found each and every story filling all the expected desires of our old western adventures and exploits!
Five stars just doesn't do justice to this series, but I guess the best is the best anyway you may address the issues at hand. I am definitely impressed with Mr. Paul Thompson and his very impressive writing abilities. The excitement he displays in each and every novel is beyond belief.
I have been a Joe Pickett fan for awhile, but Marshal Shorty Thompson has my attention also. These novels are very touching and heartwarming from beginning to end, with plenty of mystery and old western adventure to maintain my interest throughout the entire series.
The storylines and characters create an endearing attention from beginning to end. Not just one book, but all of them. I have already purchased book 52 and will begin another ride a and will begin another ride along with Shorty immediately.
I most certainly recommend this series to anyone seeking excitement, suspense and romance in a very extensive western atmosphere. You will certainly be entertained and I can assure you, you will be hooked from book one.
U.S. MARSHAL SHORTY THOMPSON - Cora Laredo - One Max Woman
Cora Laredo does just exactly what no one else could possibly expect her to do, she goes after them. The road is long and dangerous, but this is ONE MAD WOMAN. BRAVO 👏 👏!!! This is one really good read. Paul L. Thompson never disappoints, his books are always well worth the time to enjoy that walk through the past.
PLT has penned the next western in the Shorty Thompson series (53) which entails a young railroad tycoon and his wife buying a lathering and moving West while he fixed two bridges the had not been built to standards. He fired the man and the man returns and ribs and shoots the young man Then his wife get three men to help and she and Shorty Thompson get on the trail. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
As always a great read. I have really enjoyed this book. I like all the books on Shorty. I liked the fact Cora a woman went after the men that shot her husband. Look forward to the next Shorty Thompson book. Thank you Paul L. Thompson for a great read.
I really appreciate a story about a Western woman who takes no carp and is fully capable. Keep them coming, Mr. Thompson. You write 'em, I will read 'em.
