This book delves into the heart of organizational theory and the complexity and systems theory that go with an organization. Organizations are not simple but very complex and each organization needs to be seen in its own light. This book is deep and may take a day or two to read but the knowledge this author gives is priceless.

اولین چیزی که درباره‌ی این کتاب در ایران باید بگویم این است که یکی از بهترین نمونه‌های ضایع کردن یک اثر خوب در فرآیند ترجمه و کتاب‌سازی همین کتاب نظریه‌ی سازمان است.
کتاب اگرچه نسبتاً قدیمی است ولی به نظرم هم‌چنان به خوبی از پس توضیح اغلب وجوه سازمان‌های امروز هم برمی‌آید. اگرچه شاید در مواجه با کسب‌وکارهای کوچک و استارتاپ‌ها آن‌قدر که در مورد کمپانی‌ها و ساختارهای بزرگ قادر به تبیین است، موفق نباشد.
به‌علاوه سرنخ‌های زیادی را برای دنبال کردن مطالعات جزئی‌تر در اختیار خواننده می‌گذرد. چه در هنگام اشاره به نظریه‌ها و نظریه‌پردازان و چه وقتی از اصطلاحات و عبارات کلیدی استفاده می‌کند.
در نهایت هم کتاب خلاف آثار به اصطلاح علمی-پژوهشی ایرانی زنده است و مسائلی را دنبال می‌کند و سعی در توضیح راه‌حل‌های پیش‌نهادشده‌ برای آن‌ها در قالب نظریه‌های مختلف سازمان دارد. یعنی هدف‌مند و مسئله‌دار است. این را نویسنده اصلا در مقدمه توضیح هم می‌دهد.
اما همه‌ی این‌ها در نسخه‌ی ترجمه‌شده‌ی فارسی به نفع یک اثر دانشگاهی کم‌جان و لفاظ و پرغلط از میان رفته است.
ترجمه که به نظر می‌رسد محصول یک فعالیت جمعی کلاسی است که توسط دانشجویان دکتر دانایی‌فرد انجام شده، شاید از ترجمه‌های گوگل ترنزلیت هم عقب‌تر باشد. معادل‌ها بچگانه انتخاب شده‌اند و معلوم است که به اصطلاح مترجم‌(ها) اطلاعی از ادبیات مدیریت در مقیاس بزرگ‌تر نداشته‌اند یا مسئله‌شان صرفاً پاس کردن آن واحد یا گرفتن امتیاز و ترفیع بوده است.
علاوه بر این، کتاب در چاپ دوازدهم که من خواندم، مملو از غلط‌های نگارشی و تایپی و املایی است که نشان می‌دهد ناشر دغدغه‌ای برای ویرایش نداشته و همین که کتاب تبدیل به منبع درسی شده و تجدیدچاپ‌ش تضمین شده است برای‌ش کافی بوده است.
در مجموع، اگر به مطالعه‌ی ادبیات مدیریت به صورت کلاسیک و مفصل، یعنی بیش‌تر از کتاب‌های باب‌روز استارتاپی و یک‌شبه مدیر شوید، علاقه‌مند هستید پیش‌نهاد می‌کنم نسخه‌ی اصلی را به زبان انگلیسی مطالعه کنید.

Nu har jag visserligen förkunskaper rörande organisationsteori, och det påverkar säkerligen hur jag uppfattar boken, men jag tycker ändå att den är väldigt pedagogisk och ger en stark grund för att förstå en rad av de olika teorierna som finns.

Jag uppskattar också att Hatch är så ödmjuk i sitt skrivande. Hon tar inte för givet att läsare har förkunskaper och hon stannar upp för att förklara att kommande avsnitt kan vara svåra om man inte studerat samhällsvetenskap på just universitetsnivå. Det är så tydligt att hon skriver för att lära ut.

Detta märks även på språket. Det är fortfarande en tung text att läsa, rent språkligt, men den är inte alls lika tung som rena akademiska texter. Även om den inte når hela vägen fram till ett populärvetenskapligt verk skulle jag ändå säga att boken tangerar vid det.

Det gör att boken blir lätt att ta till sig.

این کتاب، یکی از کتب تخصصی رشته مدیریت است. مترجم گاه از کلمات بسیار ثقیل استفاده کرده است و گاه با ترجمه کردن کلمات بدیهی باعث دشواری خواندن متن شده است.

This book did a good job of separating the three perspectives. It is always interesting to learn something new and how people use these views to make deductions that are best for them in their lives I found exciting. My biggest problems were that the author over explained things. It was like a lecturer who loves to hear himself talk and doesn't realize it could confuse people who are listening. A little editing would have been nice here. The other thing was that some of the graphs were also quite confusingly drawn. The book itself was quite interesting and made me think a lot about my choices and my life, which wasn't what I expected from this book.

A really great introduction to Organization Theory. Hatch does a great job of demonstrating the perspectives through embedding the dominant languages of the perspectives in her explanations. She also draws good comparisons between the perspective. I would however advise that it would have been interesting to also discuss Critical Theory, particularly how it relates and contrasts with Modernism and Postmodernism.
