This is a unique book showcasing Burri’s photographs of Le Corbusier and his works. He had very personal access for a long time and so many of these photos are personal and not seen in other books.

There is a brief text on each project followed by the photos. Most photos are black and white but a few are color. The content of the photos ranges from personal photos in Le Corbusier’s home, to projects under construction, to the Villa Savoye in a state of disrepair. What is most interesting is the photos of the apartments as they are inhabited. Photos like this are very informative and interesting to look at and a great supplement to other books about Le Corbusier’s work.

Ultimately, this is a book that many architects and photography enthusiasts will enjoy reviewing once or twice, but not one you want to have in your permanent library unless you are a die-hard Le Corbusier fanatic.
