Rate this book
For single mother Katie Wells, there are two Hurricane Andrews wreaking havoc on her heart

Hurricane Andrew rages through Southern Florida with the force of God’s wrath. In the blink of an eye, Katie Wells’s Miami home is destroyed, her former life gone. All she wants now is to make sure her young son stays safe. Rescue arrives in the form of Andrew Cunningham, the architect who built her house.

As neighbors work together to rebuild, Katie realizes she’s starting to fall for Drew. But something doesn’t add up. With devastation all around them, why did a few houses—including his—remain standing? Her quest for answers uncovers a twisting trail of sabotage and cover-up that conceals the shocking truth about Andrew.

Heather Graham uses her firsthand knowledge of one of the last century’s worst natural disasters to weave an unforgettable love story that’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.

This one follows the romance between Katie and Andrew, which also takes place doing Hurricane Andrew.

I like the way the author portrayed the inner conflict of Andrew's character,

I did not enjoy the steamier scenes, they were little too descriptive for my taste

The Trouble with Katie

Andrew is the name of the Hurricane that rips the roof off Katie's house. And Andrew is the name of her neighbor who saves her life, offers his house to stay in, and is definitely going to be the hero of this story. Now I not into subservient heroines nor do I like weak willed females. But Katie is headstrong and obstinate in self destructive and rather stupid ways. After the storm eases she wants to go into her wrecked home and he tells her to wait for him later as it is dangerous. So she waits till he is occupied and goes by herself after all its her house, and nearly gets killed again. She also has a temper. Now we are not talking about a random guy giving orders, he's a contractor and knows buildings. But this seems to be typical of Katie. Yet I truly enjoyed this very different plot and the people involved. A good read, but if this wasn't a romance with the required HEA ending, Katie probably wouldn't make it to the end alive.
