Captivated By A Kingpin's Charm

Rate this book
Captivated means attract, or to hold attention of. That was exactly what Jetari felt when he crashed into Ka’Nija literally. Despite meeting under the unfortunate circumstances, they instantly feel a magnifying connection to each other. No matter how hard they tried to pull apart or ignore it, they always ended right back up with each other. In this crazy love story, you’ll meet Ka’Nija “Noochie” Taylor, who is far from an ordinary teenager. Ka’Nija was forced to grow up at an early age, and had to become accustomed to being responsible at a young age. Wherever Ka’Nija turns, tragedy seems to follow, causing her to make sacrifices in order to get to where she wanted to be.

Once upon a time, Jetari “Yayo” Riley, was apart of the infamous Mahogany Clique. Being abandoned at the tender age of twelve, left him with to rely on no one but himself. After being taken under the wing of a powerful man, to become his protégé, his life changed drastically. With more money there came more problems, and he learned that the hard way. Jetari was young, ruthless, but could charm a grandmother out of her last dollar, with just his presence. He had never heard the word, “no,” until he met his match in Ka’Nija.

Both Jetari and Ka’Nija have been through tragedies at a young age and did the unthinkable to make it out. They both have skeletons buried deep in their closets. After skeleton’s start to appear from thin air, putting the truth front and center will these two be able to let the past be the past and move on as a unit. Or will someone’s bag of secrets outweigh the other causing a diversion between them?

What a ride this book took me on. I truly enjoyed this book! Nija and yayo is a true power couple that beat all odds against them! I admire Nija for here strength by still remaining true to herself and taking on huge responsibilities no young child should ever have to go through. 😊😊

Great Book

I enjoyed this story Alot even though Jetari and Nija were both very stubborn. I loved them together. Kai Kai kept me lol at her antics, she was a Real true friend to Nija I loved their bond. Mz. Jean was hevan sent literally. So happy that Tank and Natori trifing no good asses got exactly what they were asking for. The one thing I didnt like was how when Jetari went to prison he Never bothered to reach out to Noochie in any kind of way for him to love her so much. He was just being selfish andexpected her to sit and wonder what was really going on. His brothers never even checked up on her and babygirl either.
His brothers were a bunch of crazy characters. I liked how they all were always there for one another and Mz Joie and Og kept me entertained. So glad that the love birds finally matured and grew up and put their big boy/girl pants on!
Will there be a story about Kai Kai and Merk or did I miss that one? Some plsss let me know if there is a book about them aleeady.
Cant wait to read more

Great read and loved that it was standalone. So loved this storyline, plot and these characters and I enjoyed it from beginning to the very end. Ka'Nija had to grow up fast and take on the responisbilty of herself and her little sister, She has so many obstacles thrown her way and so much tragedy, but threw it all so learned to have faith and stay strong. So loved Nija and Jetari together and so glad they finally worked out all their problems and their love prevail. So glad that the snakes got what they deserved and then some. So love Mrs. Jean she was just what Nija needed. Would love to hear about her more about the other characters; maybe a series of books. Very well written and can't wait to see what's next from Khadijah J.

What a ride..

Imagine being 12 yo faced with task of an abusive parent, a weak, humble momma, and having to raise your baby sister by yourself. Well this is what Ka'Nijah had to go through. She was the definition of a warrior. She had long given up hope the God even cared.. But when a few people drop into her life to encourage and instill faith..things seem to happen but not without trial and error. Amazing coming of age story/ love story that makes you cry, laugh, and just have hope. Please grab this standalone ASAP. Bravo!!!

Captivated

Nija was a Strong Young Lady. She always made sure her little was first. To be so young and had to grow up fast she handled herself well. Jetari was pissing me off for a minute. But he finally wised up and got his act together. Tori should of just left well enough alone. Then she wouldn't of ended in that predicament. I can't wait for the other guys stories to come up. I loved Ms. Jean. I wonder if her daughter is going to be in the other books 📚?

Such a fool!!!

Natori was just too stupid for her own good, hate wasn’t a great color for her. Jetari he loved Ki’naja but just made some stupid decisions along the way. Nija from the jump she was destined to be great she never realized that everyone was in her life for a reason. But in the end they both focused on exactly what was important...

Amazing

This is a story about faith. She went through soooooo much but she weathered every storm that was placed in front of her. I was in tears at times when she was questioning God and wondering why her. The love she had for her sister made everything worth it. JT came in right when she needed him too. Amazing read.

Ka’nija thus far have the best background story ! Everything she been through was destine to make her fail , but each and every time she came out on top. From being a mother at a young age I would’ve been went crazy. Yayo is the best and to know his story they’re a match made in heaven !

Good read

Boys went through the struggle at such a young age and so did Yayo. She always made sure her sister was straight. Yayo should have told her off gate what was what. I could see how he was upset with Niya. He really couldn't be mad though he had the ultimate secret.

Nija had alot of responsibilities growing up and it was hard for her. She made sure she great care of her sister and made her feel loved. Miss Jean and Jetari came in their lives when they had nobody. I'm glad everything worked out for them and they gained more people to call family.

Ka’Nija and Jetari finally got it together to make it work. The bumps and bruises they encounter almost ended differently. Once they realized they were it for each other, it was a wrap for everyone else.

Hustle is her middle name

Nookie hustled hard to get all she got...respect. She took care of her sister...commendable. Yayo needed to meet Nookie to get on the right path and escape that devil Tori.
