The scent of freshly baked bread… …wafts through this book.
As every sweets needs a pinch of salt, the spirited Isabelle and the rather compossed Hank are the perfect ingredients for this beautiful love story. But without a piece of land to his name and his love long buried, Isabelle is a forbidden fruit for Hank.
Isabelle knows how easily someone can be burnt. So she has learned how to resist temptation. But how to resist love?
J. R. Biery found the perfect flavour for this book: spicy exchanges of words which made me laugh and think of some Shakespear’s lovebirds mixed with full-flavored tender moments.
There is little to none aggressive action in this story. It is a slow sequel to the Milch Bride, with these previous characters making an appearance.
Hank, the former foreman for Jackson Harper has been asked to step into a similar role on Jackson's father in law's property while he is away. Here he meets Isabelle, a French chef. She has time on her hands and ambitions to own her own restaurant.
As I said, it is a slow burning read, but still worthwhile.
Tangled Spurs is second sequel to The Milch Bride. It doesn't have as much western drama as the previous books in the series but the story of Hank and Isabelle is a sweet romance with the right amount of heat.
This is a very well thought out, well written and extremely interesting book. I love that some of the characters are carried over from previous books and new ones added making for excitement and adventure. You will greatly enjoy reading this story.
