One hybrid Fury queen. Three pure-blood Dragon Princes. A reverse harem with a dark fairy tale twist and an epic flair!
My name is Daisy. I've been cursed to serve a bad-tempered elemental in my beastly form for centuries.
There's only one way to lift the curse: a kiss from three true loves. To garner even one is nearly impossible. How am I going to get three?
Then three gorgeous-as-sin, yet clueless dragon princes stumble into my lair. Only they do not come to kiss me. They come to slay me without knowing who I really am. Unless they cut the three heads of the Furies--my heads--or make the Fury Queen fall in love with them, they'll never shift back to dragons.
Not surprisingly, the princes all choose what they think is the easiest--to behead the beasts.

Yea I know, the writing is shockingly bad but I liked the Queen even if her dragons were pathetic. The world has been built up in previous series so maybe if you'd read those you might be interested in what happens to the Fury's. I haven't and it was like jumping into the middle of a story and the writer had to fill a lot of gaps in knowledge with inner dialogue explaining situations, and that really annoys me. Especially when the same info gets repeated throughout the whole book! Lots of cliched terms like "heated channel" "sheath" " moist centre"
So even though I liked the Queen in the end it was
Thank you DrAndyRoark for assisting me in this review
Hmmm, what to say?? The first few chapters were so super cheesy that I almost couldn't continue. And the book was heavy on dialogue. Cheesy + heavy dialogue.....made me think Mystery Science Theater for some reason. The premise was ok, I guess, but the book could have been so much better if the cheese factor could have been reduced. There was a character called the "Wickedest Witch in the universe" for goodness sake.
"Daisy" is half dragon-shifter, half fae, but she's been cursed to spend 23 hours a day as her soul splits into 3 fury forms and must live her life on a remote planet filled with other monsters. To break the curse, she must get a kiss from her 3 true loves. Fate makes her the target of a bounty and brings her 3 spaceships filled with hunters trying to chop off her heads. Her plan is to just kiss everyone and try to stay alive, that is until one of the ships unloads 3 dragon princes trying to break a curse of their own. Hmm, I wonder who will end up as her true loves? Oh, and she's been celibate for over 9 centuries, so she is more than a little horny, so kissing isn't the only thing she wants.
Super cheese! I cannot continue the series, even if the smut wasn't terrible.
This is the first in a reverse harem (RH) fantasy series about a cursed half-Fae/half-dragon princess. The way some things are described in the book made me realize she must have appeared in another series by this author, and a note at the end from the author confirmed it. Obviously, I haven't read that series and it's not necessary but you can definitely tell. This RH is written better than a lot of RH's I have read in the last couple of years, but somehow I still found myself wanting to skip ahead. There are some good sexy scenes and I enjoyed a character named Lord Elvey a lot (won't spoil it for you), but I was a little bored by the plot itself, which is centered around Daisy trying to break her centuries' long curse by kissing her three true loves, who may or may not have arrived with a group of hunters who she must simultaneously protect herself from and test to see if they her true loves (with kisses). The characters' personalities aren't really explored and her interactions with the three dragon prince's didn't go much beyond kissing/sex and non-stop possessive squabbling with each other over her. I love possessive heroes but I got tired of it in this book. Her interactions with Elvey were much more interesting and had more depth and chemistry. If I read further in the series it would be to see more of those two, not her and the princes.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free, unedited, copy.
DNF ... What-the-everloving-god??! I ALWAYS forget the name of this author and than a few pages in a have to do a huge facepalm because she got me again! The description of the book is super catchy so I think 'hells yeah I'll give it a try' and than I open the book and begin the recognize places and characters and I'm like 'wtf is this shit? I fell for it again?' This author drives me insane, it's like reading smut written by a twelve year old who with an overactive imagination and sex driveplus just enough sexual knowledge to make a somewhat passable sex scene. The characters are always guaranteed to be extremely ignorant and childish and even more horny.
DNF - Quit at 15% I was hoping this would be good, but unfortunately it was just way too weird for me. Too many things (fae, dragon shifters, demons, aliens, wizards, vampires, witches, archangels, hellhound, and more) mixed together, and not cohesively either. I really couldn't understand how the main character could be a fae in 1 body, but then change into 3 different bodies (3 Furies) at the same time. The whole concept was just too far out in left field for me to absorb or enjoy. There was also no real explanation for things, readers are thrust into the story with no world building or explanations of why. The first 15% felt like a drug induced hallucination to me.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way to short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
This is a 3.5 for me. It was a good story but there was so much information thrown at you that if you blink you might miss something. I would say give it a try but this story is mixed with everything! Like fey that are Aliens, Witches Mating Archangels. Yes, all that and more! So if you want a story with a little bit of every paranormal creature this is the story for you.
Daisy has quite a challenge ahead of her if she wants to be free of her curse. She needs to find her three loves and they have their own curse. The three dragon princes thought they knew what was ahead of them on this journey to kill a monster to end their curse but never anticipated finding the monster may very well be their mate.
I really enjoy reverse harem romances and I have been looking forward to Daisy's story after reading the prior series where the character was introduced. Daisy has been alone for centuries and was taken from her home as an adolescent so she has no experience with men. She has watched others over the years and is quite eager for her own personal experiences.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I am looking forward to seeing what is next for them all. There is still so much to discover about Daisy's past and why she was cursed. The one person who does seem to know a lot is not able or willing to share their secrets.
There is also a lot more to learn about the dragon shifters who may be her mates. The story is told from her point of view so you don't know as much about them. I want to get better acquainted with them.
Daisy the Fury Queen, is cursed to live in beast form most of the time. She pins her hopes on three Dragon Princes being her true loves to break the curse. A warlock named Lord Elvey, mysteriously confuses her as she determines her loves. I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
Hmmm... I was kinda excited about a fun, fast, guilty pleasure read. But this book just isn't for me. Within the first few pages words like Fae, Dragons, furies, spaceships, vampire, planet and aliens are mentioned. It was just too much.
I liked the idea of her being a cursed fae turned fury, that had to kiss her "three true loves" (for the RH effect) but it was confusing that her natural state was a Fae form or a dragon form. Oh and she is the Granddaughter of the Dragon King. (Don't worry this isn't really a spoiler all of this is said in the first couple of pages.)
My friend Erin just informed me about Check list books...and that's what this felt like. A check list of every popular Paranormal Romance theme combined into a RH book.
If you are looking for a fun All-in-One Paranormal RH, you might enjoy this.
The STORY in and of itself was an interesting story, though it was written poorly. The dialogue was infantile, the character development was MIA, it read like the Cliff's Notes version, the grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure we're atrocious, and the sex scenes and dialogue might as well have come from a 13 year old boys' imagination. There was no romance and no depth and NO variation. It was basically the same scene copied and pasted, over and over. I, basically, rewrote the entire book AS I read it, just to get through it. I'm one of those people that has to see a story through to the end once I've started it and it bit me in the butt, this time.
It's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Meg Xuemei X. I have read most of her books and LOVED every single one, so the day I got my hands on this one I did a happy dance. Then I sat down and devoured this book in one sitting. It's not a short book, but I couldn't put it down. Meg takes us back to Pandemonium, and we finally learn the Furies' story. There are moments that make your heart break. There are also moments that will make you laugh. The adventure is non-stop, and you are thrust into very quickly. This isn't a story that has a slow build up. The moments of passion, self-doubt, anger, and fear are all there as well. That's all I'm going to say about the plot. I hate spoilers, and there is no way I can tell this story better than Meg herself, so I strongly suggest that you read it.
One of the reasons I love Meg's writing is the amount of detail she goes into. Her characters are fully fleshed out. They aren't just a character, they become people you know and love. Their personalities are set and the way they handle things is true to their character. This is very important in this world, because the characters pop up in each of the trilogies that make up this story. Another thing I love so much is her world building. The world is alive. You are IN that world and not just reading about it. Her story lines are also fantastic, but it is the way that the story line unfolds that is truly breathtaking. She tells the story from different POVs so you are living the story along with the characters. Their emotions, thoughts, and passion become yours. Her men are fierce protector/alphas and her females are all strong and independent. Neither of them back down even though there is some bending to find a compromise. The women don't become weak after meeting the guy. They are just as protective of their men as the men are of their woman. I love this consistent emotional balance and example of how they stay true to themselves. Her pace is perfect, too. The story doesn't drag, or rush, at any time. There aren't any jumps or confusing set ups, either. And last but not least, is the passion. The chemistry between the characters is very spicy, and at the same time you feel the uncertainty that comes with any relationship. This one is slightly different (I'm not telling) and the uncertainty is more complex, but the passion is also more intense. I can tell you that there are many, many surprises in this one. There are a lot of questions that don't get answered, but the story line itself ends at a natural place so it doesn't feel like you are left hanging too much. Just enough to keep me checking to see when the next book comes out, lol. Without diving into the specific plot points that make this a fabulous read I can't say more than that I LOVE this one. I can't recommend it enough! I know that anyone who loves paranormal romance and fantasy will love it just as much as I did. READ IT!!!
This is a true trilogy, meaning you MUST read these in order, and they are part of a larger series. It isn't necessary to read the entire series in order to love the trilogy, but there are somethings that make more sense if they are all read in order. Meg is wonderful about releasing her trilogies quickly, too, so you don't have to spend a long time impatiently waiting to find out what happens next. Yes, I am impatiently waiting anyway...
“Strap in on for a page-turning, sexy and enticing ride!”
I received an Advance Reader Copy for The Fury Queen’s Harem: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance (The Cursed Dragon Queen and Her Mates, Book #1) written by Meg Xuemei X and voluntarily reviewed this book. This is my first read from this author, and she paints a very fast-paced and detail-filled world. Daisy Danaenyth is the Queen of the Beasts, the Fury Queen, half dragon and half Fae. Now she has a story, a very lonely story, one that left her cursed and stranded on the planet Pandemonium for centuries. The only way out off was to obtain a kiss from not one but three true loves.
Promised by the Dragon King a chance to rule the Danenyth dynasty, three ships carrying alien hunters invade Pandemonium, all searching for the three Furies…and their heads as prizes. But when the ship carrying three Dragon prince half-brothers meet a beautiful Fae, an utterly enchanting gem in the jungle, they begin to shift their shared focus to their intriguing little find…
This dark tale has many interesting developments which I am happy to say are not all answered in this installment, and I can’t wait to find out more about the curses which seemed to have been doled out not only to Daisy, but to the princes as well. As well, there is a lot of history on this creatively diverse planet, rich with interesting characters, all of whom I am looking also forward to reading about!
This is my first read from Meg. I love dragons, I'm going on a bit of a dragon binge :) yay! Anyways.....this book had me at the blurb. I was intrigued and this book held me throughout. I'm not too sure about this author's writing style. The world building could have been better, but that might be because this is a spin-off series and I haven't read the last one. I do like some of the concepts.
Characters........I wish I knew more about these characters. I don't know why but I've been saying this a lot. It's the first book so it's okay but I don't know anything about these men. Nothing that makes me feel connected to them. Nothing that will keep me invested for long.
Daisy, she's okay. I feel like she's a badass but we haven't really seen what she's capable yet. I'm hoping more will be revealed in the next installment!
The whole true love, doubting, and then the conclusion

Grab the listen and escape to a beautiful story .
Melissa Schwairy was excellent. Her voice is strong , clear , smooth and perfect
I have mixed feelings about this one. While I enjoyed the spunky little Fury Queen, there were strange little skips in narrative that I found jarring and ripped me right out of the story a few times.
I did, however, enjoy the world that was forged. I didn't know this was more of a science fantasy book, so that was a pleasant surprise, merging a post-apocalyptic planet with vampires, werewolves, witches, etc into a bit of scifi with the spaceships and laser weapons.
I would have liked a bit more details about the world, as it was so intriguing. I'm assuming I could get more of that in the author's other series, as they are in the same world. I'm very tempted to do just that, though I'm not 100% sure if I will or not. Though the world, the plot and the Fury Queen were all very intriguing, I'm not sure the writing style is for me. It was a bit repetitive, and very unclear at times, while not giving enough details about some things I thought would be important. I think if the narrative was cleared up, it would definitely leaving me craving more. Though the book was definitely entertaining, it didn't leave me with that "I need book 2 NOW" feeling.
Worth the read for fantasy RH lovers. The writing style might be more suited to others than it was to me.
This is the first book I read by the author and I'm a tad disappointed :( The book had a great plot, a lot of potential but unfortunately, it just didn't work for me.
Worldbuilding was good, the scenes and environments were clear and well described. We learned about the planet, different races and gotten some info about other worlds as well.
Character development was decent (I guess?), we learned a good amount about our cast, hopes, dreams, fears and whatnot. We kinda know who the bad guy (or well, queen) is in the story and the characters did mature and grow during the book.
Pacing and flow were decent. There were chapters with a lot of action where I was happy the pacing picked up, but alas, it didn't last and it felt like I was crawling through the story :(
The book itself was well written with no (noticeable) errors and yes, there is (a lot of) sex described in the book (if that is important to you).
All in all, while at times it was an enjoyable read, mostly it, unfortunately, fell flat :( I don't think I will be reading the other books in the series.
It strikes me that there doesn't seem to be a explanation for the stars that are given. So I thought I'd start giving my take on it. 1 horrible no redeeming qualities. 2 there are redeeming qualities. 3 good worth reading, or well written but not my cup of tea. 4 great but there's something off. 5 loved it.
This is the first book I've read by Meg Xuemei X. I like this book, but from things that are said I feel like I'm missing something. Reasons I enjoyed this audio book: Wonderful characters, Page-turner, Great world building, Unpredictable, Original, Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Action-packed, Steamy. Bookshelves/tags: adult, aliens, another-world, curse-cure, demons, dogs, dragon, elves, fantasy, futuristic, menage, multiple-partners, nonhuman, open-ended, polygamy, recorded, romance, saga, science-fiction, series, shifters, witch.
This Audiobook was given to me for free at my request from the publisher, author or narrator and I provided this unbiased voluntary review.
The writing in this book was clunky, obvious, and cringey. This type of writing is why I had paused on reading anything by this author for the past couple of years. I recently read a couple of her other series and they were much better.
Early on (first couple of chapters) the FMC is lurking near one of the ships and overhears a over explained conversation about everything. The princes and their crew come out of the ship and have an in-depth discussion about the other ships, there strength/weakness, how many people etc.. The princes even explain how they’re brothers from different mothers. All this in front of their ship and in front of their crew. It was hamfisted to say the least. I don’t know about you but that wouldn’t be where I would have a conversation letting out important information. Also I wouldn’t feel the need to explain that we’re half siblings to my half siblings.
There was a lot of references to other things and other character that this book must be a spin off or should be book 2 not book 1. My guess is that this book shares the same world as her witch series.
First of all, whoever did the cover page did a amazing job. It definitely does get you excited to read it. Away from the that the book's content was disappointing. I was just off the high of reading the Wickedest series, so I was anticipating an even more amazing story. It felt more like an amateur was writing this story. This I think is the author's first attempt at the reverse harem genre and it definitely read like it. Daisy and the Princes relationship felt forced and their conversations felt "dumb". There was a lot of repetition in terms of explaining Daisy's back story. Elvey and Daisy's story is what kept me reading until the last page. I wish the author had focused on that. Sad to say I probably won't read the rest of the series.
Another fabulous series from author Meg Xuemei X. Following on from the Wickedest Witch series, The Fury Queen's Harem follows Daisy on her quest to be released from her curse as the Furies.
It was well written, with characters from previous series making appearances.
Daisy's interactions with the three dragon princes Rai, Blaze and Iokul (my favourite) were full of teasing, chemistry and sex, but also seemed a little too tame.
Her interactions with Elvey the Fae, on the other hand, left me hoping for more of their story.
I'm looking forward to book 2 in the series.
I received an ARC of The Fury Queen's Harem and this is my honest review.
This is the first book in The Cursed Dragon Queen and Her Mates. I love Meg Xuemei X's writing. This is a great fantasy reverse harem romance, with a fury queen and her three pure-blood dragon Princes. The story is captivating, action packed, and steamy. Daisy and her three pure-blood dragon Princes. Daisy, Rai, Blaze and Elvey, share a sizzling chemistry. I love their adventure! The story has a great world building. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. Melissa Schwairy did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.
Once again we return to Pandemonium. This time it is for the Furies story. We were introduced to this character in the "Wicked Witch" series which I loved. While you don't necessarily have to have read that series first, it does help with understanding the "world". Ms. Xuemi is one of those authors that has a way of creating a "world" for her characters which can suck the reader in. After reading this story, I can't wait for the next installment. Will Daisy's curse be broken by her true love's kiss?
Oddly this book was a pick but I’m perplexed as to why.. I found it: 1. confusing because there are just to many paranormal, magical and a myriad of other creatures to keep straight 😳 2. boring..didn’t like Daisy & her curse plot line 3. Interesting...I’m totally fascinated by Elvey and the dragons which kept me interested. It also is connected to a previous series and does stand alone but you know you’re not quite in the loop. It ends in a semi cliffhanger and leaves you curious enough to want to read the next one.
ARC.. I received an ARC in return for an honest review.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story. The narrator was on point! I also enjoyed the story. This is the first time I've listened to a book by this author. I will definitely be listening to part two of this series once it's available. As well as checking out other books by this author.
You will see other negative remarks on this book, I challenge you to decide for yourself. I was pleasantly surprised.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This story is full of drama, suspense, action, and hot sexy romance. It was well written with amazing characters. The personalities of the characters are are felt throughout the story. The narrator Melissa Schwairy did a fantastic job with reading it. She didn’t sound like she was trying to hard or act out of her range. She brought the characters to life. I can’t wait to see how the story continues as it draws you in and delivers such an imaginative word. This is a must read or a must listen for it will have you in the world with it.
That headline about sums this book up. I read nearly constantly but this book took me to a new place with monsters, curses, dragons, vampires and magic. The story is intriguing, the men are hot, and the Queen is cursed. I gave 4 stars not 5 because sometimes it seems like the author has put every cliche in the world in this book. A run on cliche pulls you from the pages of the book to frown and shake your head, but dig back in because you will enjoy the story.
This is just weird, I don't actually know how the author thought of these ideas and put them together. Being a three-headed fury and turning into a beautiful women briefly, and her mates that have masks superglued to their faces. I think the twist was obvious, briefly mentioning a missing woman while hunting a weirdly cursed woman. Gee I wonder. It also meets an issue I have with books where they state the book is a standalone, but frequently bring up events from other books so not really standalone.
