This is a part of a series but can be a great stand alone book. A close friend of the family is found dead. Megs mother is the first to know. She sees his light on and a door open. This man had become a surrogate father to her and so much support for her Mom. They did a seance to call his ghost back. To find out he had people angry with him and he didn't know who did it. He said he didn't know who did it. He said he tried fighting, but passed out quick. All his kids had things to make them look guilty. The storyline is believable, the narration is good the characters are believable. You will need to read to see how it ends.

There are 17 books in The Witches of Enchanted Bay series. Enchanted Bay is the name of the town where most of the murders take place. The title of the book series is misleading however. Meg is a witch alongside her mother. Meg is the main character: she is a doughnut shop owner who dabbles in crime-stopping. She grew up in Enchanted Bay, and nothing has ever happened there until “the new Sheriff comes to town”. Connor grew in Enchanted Bay as well, but left to be a cop in San Francisco. He returns after years of growing his career, but as soon as he returns, the town flips upside. Murders are now a constant in the small town, and the only two people who can stop them are Meg and Connor.
These books are a great read for a middle-schooler. They give a nice twist to Nancy Drew, adding a bit of magic to the mix. However, if you’re looking for a book with prominent magic, this is not the book you're looking for. The main theme is solving murders. Occasionally, Meg will use a spell to help them solve the case. Other than her Grandma who was transformed into a talking cat, there’s nothing else that is magical about the books.
The books can be picked up at random and read, without having to worry about the plot line: each book is a different murder mystery. There is a budding romance that flourishes with each book, so if that’s important to you then you may want to read them in order, but it’s a very small plot line.

A well-done whodunit. Meg's mom finds a family friend strangled to death. She insists that Meg investigate. This leads to the questioning of slightly estranged, family friends. None of those questioned were anywhere near friendly. Nonetheless, Penelope manages to lead Meg into the insight she needs to solve the case.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Funny. Haunting. Romantic. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

When a close family friend is murdered, Meg’s mother stops urging her to quit sleuthing and instead tells her to solve the case. That’s the only encouragement Meg needs. She won’t stop until she finds out who did it.
Meg and Connor make a good couple and the supporting characters really add depth to the storyline. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. I like this series.

Stangling Ambition (The Witches of Enchanted Bay #7) was another great read by Amelia Morgan. This book was another great read about Meg and Connor looking for a murderer in the small town of Enchanted Bay. I can't wait to read more of this series.

When Meg's mom finds her friend murdered she implores Meg to help find the killer, though a little magic goes a long way this one is going to take a bit , to many suspects but with the help of her aunt/cat she just might be able to narrow it down.

This narrator has a pleasant voice and delivery making these stories an enjoyable listen.
This is an enjoyable story but again the editing lets it down this one had three Repeated lines

Loved the witchy touches. Meg and Her mother needed to find their friend Richard’s murderer. A few we spells helped but good old fashioned sleuthing was what cracked it in the end.

I have read the first five books in this series but I though it ended I am glad I looked into it later and now I can finish the series.

Such a fun, easy to read series. Sometimes you need books that are light hearted and quick reads. This is definitely that series. Very enjoyable palate cleansers.

Expectations and reality
A good read. Okay not terrific but not exactly certain why. The plot was well thought out and I must admit that the killer wasn't obvious but it lacked a certain 'zing' it just felt a bit flat and lacklustre.
When a close friend of the family is murdered, her mother is the first one to insist that she investigates. The man had become a surrogate father figure to her and for her mother he and his wife had been the support she had needed. Although they had called his ghost back, he couldn't tell them anything new. Just that he and his family had been at odds. His daughter hated his new fiance, one son wanted money to record an album, the other son was badly in debt due to gambling ad his new fiance and he had parted ways (she was now involved with his rival). But who actually killed him and can she and her detective boyfriend find the evidence?
