Turns out that I found reading a book of poems by Walt Whitman, something on the ever-growing to-read list, was less than exciting and occasionally a bit of a trudge.

So if you like Walt Whitman poems, this is a sort of "Readers' Digest" of the full "Leaves of Grass". And if that's your choice, find a more complete version.

If you're like me and just checking in to find out what the hoopla is about, this might suffice. The famous ones you may already know are in there and there are moments of lyricism in some of the others.

Some of my favorite poetry. Earthy, nonconformist, sexy, beautiful.

Got it from the library to fill in the gaps of what I've read.

I thoroughly enjoyed Walt Whitman's poetry. Love. Life. Death. Beauty. His poetry embeds itself in the heart.
