When a mission puts a woman under Ret’s protection, he and his longtime girlfriend Alese welcome her into their home. What starts out as a friendship rooted in trust ignites into a romance far bigger than any of them expect.
ALFA Investigations Series: Book 1: Sinful Intent Book 2: Unlawful Desire Book 3: Wicked Impulse Book 4: Guilty Sin
I don’t read ménage with OW much less a man, thank you very much. I'm possessive of my husband and if anyone touches him she better be prepared to lose her hands.
More than Menage! It is a Love story. It a Crime Drama. It's a great addition to the AlFA PI series. I love the ALFA Investigations Series! I love the action, mystery, romance and the laughs. Guilty Sin is a lot of fun & lots of laughs. It's touching and EROTIC as HELL! Scorching! Ret, who is Bear's son (OMG be prepared for Bear and his witticism I couldn't stop laughing) has to go on a case in which he saves Nya. After being rescued Nya is not very trusting so Ret takes her in to stay with him and Alese where quickly she bonds with them and a strong friendship forms. **TOTAL HONESTY HERE** I love Ret and Alese. Love their HAE. When I learned that Guilty Sin had a menage that involves them. I was taken back. I felt like this was going to tarnish their love story. I mean how can Alese allow someone else to touch Ret or vice versa. I just can't think of Ret giving his heart to someone else when he's devoted to Alese. Well, Thank You, Chelle Bliss, because I love Ret and Alese more now and I really love their relationship with Nya. You managed to still make Ret and Alese loyal and loving to one another while welcoming Nya. I never felt it was wrong or damaging to their relationship. I will tell you that it was HOT! Fanning yourself HOT! Toes curling HOT! Don't be Discouraged! Guilty Sin is More than Menage! Guilty Sin is a great sexy must read! on a side note as for the extra scenes, * Thank You, Ms. Beta Reader.😘😘 We owe you!
I love Chelle’s writing and storytelling but this story, despite my love of the characters, has left me feeling quite frustrated, and not in a good way, despite the sexual chemistry and overall heat factor!
Ret is definitely a not so guilty secret of mine. When paired with his father, Bear, and Fran, their family dynamic is off the charts and extremely funny. Despite loving the start of the book and the involvement of some good old ALFA friends, the storyline quickly started to unravel. It became clear as soon as Nya moved in with Ret and Alese where the story was headed and the insta attraction and acceptance by Alese, in particular, seemed all too easy. Then, wondering where the story was to head next and whether Nya’s demons would come back for her, the story took a really unexpected and sad turn before the scene ended very abruptly. The reason for this was explained at the end of the book when the author admits to re-working the storyline to avoid upsetting her readers. Whilst I appreciate acting on a Beta’s suggestions is a common occurrence, in this instance, the change in the storyline came at a consequence to the overall feel of the book and the story it was portraying was sadly lost.
Part of this story also felt eerily familiar and a little forced. I don’t know if the author was struggling with a concept for this book, apart from the menage scenes which were clearly planned from the outset, but the background story just felt a little lumpy.
Despite my misgivings, I still quite liked the book and the characters, but it has left me feeling very discombobulated! I would really love a do-over involving these characters with a slightly more suspenseful and captivating storyline.

Guilty Sin was the fourth book in the Alfa Investigations series by Chelle Bliss.
Told in multiple POV’s, Ret, Alese and Nya. Ret and Alese had been a forever couple for awhile and were madly in love in a Dom / Sub relationship (book 2.75, Top Bottom Switch). Nya was a submissive but had been held captive by her last Dom. Ret had rescued her and both Alese and Ret had helped her heal.
The love between Ret and Alese was so strong and pure that it was a hard sell that Nya would be equally loved. I almost wish Nya had her own story. However, it was well written and well developed creating an intriguing story. Bliss detailed the development to include Nya but it was from a different perspective than I’ve read in other books with multiple partners.
With that said, I was a little confused as to why the police weren’t involved with Nya’s abduction and beyond. The kidnapping was a big deal and the captor wouldn’t just get away with it after the secret rescue. If it were a biker or mafia storyline, then maybe, but not a law abiding storyline, so it didn’t seem as real. No spoilers, but that wasn’t the ending so you’ll have to see how Bliss completed it, but it still didn’t seem as realistic.
In the end, it was an entertaining plot that demonstrated multiple committed partners within the BDSM lifestyle. I’m not sure where Bliss will take us next in the series, but hopefully we’ll have more alpha men to enjoy.
Guilty Sin by Chelle Bliss is book Four in the ALFA Investigations. This is the story of Ret, Alese and Nya. This book can be a standalone book if you choose to do so. Ret and Alese are in a BDSM relationship for the past few years and are a sold couple. When Ret goes on an assignment to rescue a women it is Nya. Becuase of Nya preference for BDSM she was taken advantage of by a awful man and her parents wanted her rescued. Although Nya did need the rescue she doesn't want to go to her hardcore religious parents who want to put her in a mental hospital. So Ret and Alese take her in at they start to grow feelings for each other but can this work? This is building up to a Polygamy relationship, so if you have issue with the main character being with another women this might not be for you.
F*ck Chelle! You made me love Ret as much as Bear. I'm really glad the ending you chose, I don't know how I would have felt with the 2nd ending. My favorite lines from the book: “Do whatever makes you happy in life. It can all disappear in a blink of an eye. Live without regret. Love without remorse. And never let anyone make you feel less than you are because they have a stick rammed so far up their ass the damn thing scrambles their brain when they walk.”
4.5 stars Ever since finding Joey Gallo, in Throttle Me, free on Amazon I have been a massive Chelle Bliss fan. Her work is a wonderful mix of sexy yet emotional and her men are hot enough to melt your panties. Whilst Guilty Sin is the 4th book in the ALFA Investigations series, the hero Ret hasn't got a huge backstory in those books and this can be read as a stand alone. However once you get to know the guys of ALFA PI you'll want to read their stories anyway! Ret and Alese appear in a separate stand-alone novel by Ms Bliss, it's on my kindle but I haven't actually read it as yet, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of, nor ability to follow, this book.
If you've read any of the authors work you'll know why I wanted to read Guilty Sin, if you haven't read anything of hers then after you've read this (and you most certainly do want to read this) I'd suggest making Throttle Me your next stop. And then read all the rest of her books.
I knew I'd get a book with strong characters, who are well written and who you can't help but love. I knew I'd get a hot read, with plenty of action both in and out of the bedroom, a damn good plot and excellent writing. I got all that and more. I know the author was worried that this book might push her readers boundaries a little but her inspired writing always delivers an amazing and captivating story.
Ret and Alese are happy, they are so very happy. Theirs is less than common relationship, very much equals in life, but in the bedroom they enjoy a D/s dynamic. Out on one job, Ret is diverted to help rescue Nya from the clutches of a man she though was her Dom, but who turned out to be an abuser. However once free of Diego, Nya's freedom is threatened by those who should be her very sanctuary. As a result Ret and Alese offer her sanctuary in their home.
The book is written from dual perspectives of two of the main characters, yet I still felt I really got to know other important characters in this book too. I really liked Ret, Alese and Nya, all well written and believable characters, and so strong in their own ways . They felt so real, like people you would want as friends. The interactions between them were wonderful and felt incredibly natural. Once I started reading the book I didn't want to put it down. I'd actually been in a rut of bad reads and had even started to wonder if it was me. Five minutes with this book and I knew I'd just made some bad choices with those other ones. This had me spellbound from start to finish.
At the end of the book the author lets us know that due to one of her beta readers the book totally changed direction part way through. I'm thankful that this reader was listened to, whilst we would have still had an amazing book, (a) the original felt a bit like an 'easy out' situation and (b) I loved the bravery of this book (and the characters too much).
If you're new to Chelle Bliss books then do be aware that they contain hot sex scenes and strong language. As long as those two things don't offend you then this is a book I'm happy to recommend.
ps just had to share this quote from Fran because that woman rocks
"And never let anyone make you feel less than you are because they have a stick rammed so far up there ass the damn thing scrambles their brain when they walk."
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
Words cannot express the smile I have on my face and the feeling that washes over me when I open a book by Chelle Bliss that takes me back into the loving tattooed arms of the bad ass Gallos. While I love all of her books, when they contain members of the Gallo family, my heart palpitates, I am sure that my eyes dilate and I am ready for anything with this snarky, rowdy bunch that I love so hard. I couldn't wait to jump back in and get another close look at the ever so kinky Ret from Top Bottom Switch and watch him add another women to the bedroom. Boy, I thought him and Alese kept things spicy hot and cheeks flushed and red but when you add another more lust, and another heart and sinful body into the mix, temperatures rise faster than ever before!
Ret North is one of my favorite heroes that Chelle Bliss has created, do I love him more than James? No, but that is a story for a different time. What I adore most about him is not his dominating kinky side, although he does leave me in a puddle of goo from those searing eyes and commands, but his need to protect and cherish the women that he loves and never let their spirit be broken. I absolutely cherished every minute I got to spend with this hero that sends reader's hearts in a tail spin and our libido to earth shattering levels!
My heart completely and totally went out to Nya Halstead. I couldn't imagine going through the personal hell of captivity by not one but ALL the people that were important in her life. I so wanted her to find peace, happiness, and love and I cheered for her on every step of her journey. At first, she comes across as a meek woman but you soon find out that she has the back bone and spirit of a survivor and flourishes under the love of both Ret and Alese.
This book is written from the points of view of both Ret and Nya, but it was so awesome to be around Alese again! She has the feistiness of all the Gallo women and is just all around big hearted, full to the brim with sassiness and I couldn't help but keep thinking that she is my spirit animal throughout her story. I can see why Ret and Nya are both so besotted with her in every way imaginable.
Chelle Bliss delivers another addition to her ALFA PI series that is her spiciest, most decadent story yet! I highly recommend for a romance with the triple the love and hotness and of course another glimpse at our hot Gallo men...what more could a Chelle Bliss fan want? Guilty Sin hit my heart full speed ahead in so many different ways that I am still trying to recover from Nya, Ret, and Alese. Yet I am ready to go back to the beginning and experience every pant, moan, and command all over again. Chelle Bliss never fails to wreck me in the best of ways and keep me begging for more.
Chelle Bliss has a new release i'm there, i adored the Gallo family series of standalone reads. And with this spin off series off the back of it, ALFA Investigations has added more love from me to Chelle Bliss. I couldn't wait to jump back into this series with all it's Alpha men!! If you have read the previous books you know we have met Ret briefly before as he is the son to Bear. But don't worry if you haven't as these books are written as standalones. But i have a feeling that once you read you'll want to read them all.
Ret is definitely an Alpha male just like his dad and fits in with these characters of Alpha Investigations so well. I love that we continue to have that Bliss banter that I adore so much in all of her books.
Ret and Alese have great chemistry and relationship. But after rescuing Nya from a brutal Dom. And seeing that her just returning home is going to be a major problem. Ret takes pity on her and offers their house as a sanctuary whilst Nya recovers from her ordeal. Both Ret and Alese both care deeply for Nya's well being and a surprise relationship blossoms between them all.
I enjoyed all the characters within this book and it's story. But at the end we find out that Chelle was originally going to take this story in a different direction?? and that really got me thinking as to which way i would have gone. I think for me if she had stuck to her original story line it would have been more emotional. As for me the ending felt a little rushed. Does that mean i didn't enjoy... well that would be a hell no! i always enjoy Chelle Bliss's writing i'm just a sucker for angst and emotion.
This is book four in the ALFA Investigations. I do recommend you read them all in order.
This is my favourite of the series. We now get to read Rets story, Bears son. Nyla Halstead has gone missing so her parents hire ALFA Investigations to find her. Ret is given the job to find her and gets more than he bargained for.
Ret is in a Dom/sub relationship with Alese. They open their hearts to Nya and take her into their home.
This is a really well told FMF story with some really hot scenes. Absolutely loved this story. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Ummm I do believe this is Chelle's HAWTEST book she has ever written!!! And she has written some really...REALLY HAWT books!....But...Goodnesssss...I need to take a moment before I write my review cuz I am still smolderen...hahaha
I wish I knew how to do those cute little GIF's ladies put in their reviews..bahahaha So let me just tell you which ones I would pick to describe how HAWT this book is..haha *GIF* The one with the cat laying out on the table and the fan is blowing on her!! *GIF* The one with the girl taking off her panties...cuz you will not need them while reading this book..bahaha OK...so you get my descriptions...right??? lol
Soo this is Ret's book.
Ohhh and there is a warning at the beginning of the book, so make sure you read it before moving on and of course WARNING'S just make me want to read the book even more!!lol Nope..no stopping me, Gimmie...Gimmie!!! : )
Back to Ret..Ohh he is sooo yummy!!! He has spent his life tracking down assholes for the military and as a bounty hunter he currently works for ALFA Investigations. They were contacted after a father is trying to locate his daughter that has gone missing. We find out that she ends up getting herself into a Hell of a mess with whom she thought was going to be her boyfriend, but ohh was she wrong. So now Ret has to find her and get her out of the Hell she has been living in but only to find that he will end up being her protector and much, MUCH more!!!!
I gave Guilty Sin 5 "Dayumm this book was sooo Hawt" iScream Cones!!!! Make sure you go one click on release day and find out what happens in this "Wild and Dirty as fuck" rollercoaster of a ride!!!
5 star Review Guilty Sin (ALFA Investigations #4) by Chelle Bliss
Having read the novella, Top Bottom Switch which was about Ret and Alese, I was so excited to hear that they were going to be in another book. Guilty Sin is a menage with Nya Halstead added into the mix and I just knew we were in for a book that was HOT HOT HOT!!!
Ret and Alese are perfectly matched, their chemistry scorching and my only concern with this book was the introduction of Nya, however I shouldn’t have worried.
After rescuing Nya, Ret takes pity on her and offers their house as a sanctuary whilst Nya recovers from her ordeal.
The relationship that develops between Ret, Alese and Nya is special, it is emotional and intense; their love is beautiful to read about.
The storyline was believable and extremely well written; Ret, Alese and Nya were characters that I could easily relate to and I thoroughly enjoyed their story. The heat and emotions are intense and don’t be surprised if you get burnt as you read.
There was danger, romance, amazing chemistry, spine tingling hot sex and humour that had me in tears on occasion. This is a sexy, extremely hot and downright dirty book that I could not put down and I cannot wait for the next release from Ms. Bliss.
It was also great to see some very familiar faces making an appearance and of course Bear who is Ret’s father made me laugh.
After finishing the book and reading Ms. Bliss’s letter and the deleted scenes I have to say I am so glad she didn’t go with her original story line.
Guilty Sin is a fantastic addition to one of my favourite series. One click now, you won’t be disappointed.
This is the four book in the ALFA series and can be read as a stand-alone. But I do think it would be of benefit to read the novella that features Ret and Alese (Top Bottom Switch). Ret is a member of the ALFA team and he is about to jump into another mission when he is asked to find a daughter of wealthy and religious family. Nya is a submissive who has been in the clutches of an evil Dom. Being saved from her prison but not wanting to go back to her old life has her staying with Ret and Alese.
The relationship that develops between the three of them is easy and quickly Alese and Nya form a bond. The story seemed to move quickly from there and took a turn that this author has never taken before. It was smoking hot and intriguing. I did feel like some things between these three were a little forced but I do not know how I would have felt if it went the way the author intended originally. I'm all about a sexy menage and it was interesting where the relationship starts to develop but there were some parts of it that didn't feel genuine. I did certainly enjoy the continuation of what started in the novella. I also love the interactions with other characters. They all have effortless interactions with each other that make me smile and excited for what is to come for them.
The ALPHA team has captured my attention. This time it Ret North. In the being of this book he has gone rogue to capture a fugitive and his team and his woman aren't happy but it puts him in the right place at the right time to rescue Nye from a Dom who has become abusive. Ret finds her in a cage under a bed. Her parents had contracted APHA to find her but when they are reunited, her parents want to commit her since her fetish is against their religion. The men at ALPHA won't let that happen. She's an adult and can make her own decisions. Ret offers to let her stay with him and Alese. What happens next in their private life shocks and surprises them all. The relationship that happens is not for those looking for vanilla. This is a FMF story but is written so beautifully. It is filled with passion, compassion, love and lust. I was on the edge of my seat at times and swooning at others. I am in awe everytime is start a new book by Chelle Bliss.
Well...*fans self*... I can confirm that this is the HOTTEST book Chelle Bliss has written. And in all the different romance tropes out there, she was the one to pop my cherry with a threesome story line involving two females. :-D. I’ve been all about the two guy fantasy, but she did a great job keeping me in their steamy moments.
Ret, Alese and Nya formed a wonderful friendship that quickly evolved into a much deeper bond. Both women were strong in their own right, with Ret being their overall protector.
This was book quite sexy, a bit funny at times and had a dash of suspense sprinkled on top.
Chelle Bliss wrote the hell out of this story that simply put has so much damn heart it’s hard to know how it could possibly all fit in to one book. It really and truly at its core is just an amazing love story that it doesn’t remotely matter that it is between 3 people. Ret, Alyse and Nya will have you falling in love and swooning with everything about each of them individually and collectively. I also loved being able to get some time with some of my fave ALFA men and women, always good for laughs and sexiness! The chemistry and passion that Ret & Alyse already had so seamlessly and gorgeously enveloped Nya that you can’t help but feeling this is how it was supposed to be for them. They make it work. They are love. They are passion. They are beautiful together.
First of all, don't get me wrong, I love Chelle's books but this book is not that for me. The story is good and I like it. But I'm not a fan of FMF. I'm not that a fan of Alese, sorry. But Nya, I like her than Alese. Ret, he's ok. But comparing to Bear, I like Bear more. There is something about this book that I find unattached, I think it's due to my not fond of FMF :'( . Tho, but if you like FMF, you might like this book.
Love me some ALFA crew and I'm so glad they are back!!
I'm going to admit that this is the very first time I've struggled with a book by this author but unfortunately that's what happened here. I love me some Chelle Bliss...don't get it twisted and sometimes I think it's a more me not you kind of thing and with this book, that's exactly what happened.
Guilty Sin, the next standalone in this series, was a steamy, intense, suspenseful, twisted, emotional, completely unexpected romance that caught me by surprise at moments and got my heart pumping yet left me a little....unsettled at times (again it was a me thing).
I really loved Ret and Aleyse's story when we met them in Top Bottom Switch (highly recommend this sexy morsel) and now they're back with more, including a new someone else thrown into the mix...Nya. A menage like I've never read, pushing my boundaries, and forcing me out of my bubble a bit... these three took me on quite the journey.
How do I review this book without giving anything away? I will just say that I love Ret and Alese! Love them! I seriously didn't think their story could get any hotter/better. I was so wrong. This was the perfect addition to their story! Ret is his sexy alpha self and Alese is her sassy sexy self. But their addition to the story blows everything out of the water!
Guilty Sin will leave you on the edge of your seat and your panties combusting! This is a definite MUST READ!!! Easily 5 stars!
Having read Top Bottom Switch, which quickly became a favorite of mine from Chelle Bliss, I was thrilled we'd get more from Ret and Alese. This time around in Guilty Sin, with Ret and his ALFA crew invested in saving girls from trafficking, Ret finds that one particular rescue might just add a bit more spice to his and Alese's relationship.
I always love a good M/F/M book. Especially with a couple so in tune with their feelings and their sexual appetites, adding Nya to Ret and Alese's Dom/sub relationship seemed like a natural progression. And the scenes, both early on when Nya was still a bit skittish but very turned on, and then when she wanted to be a full-fledged participant were very sexy. She seemed to fit in with their lifestyle quite easily. But that's where I had a bit of an issue. She became close to Alese almost too quickly and although I love that Alese is so comfortable in her own skin and knows her love with Ret is unbreakable, the chemistry just wasn't there for me. Nya was almost too mousy and I get that her past with her parents and the despicable Diego made her a bit hesitant, but to me she simply wasn't needed. Ret and Alese are an explosive duo enough on their own and I don't think they are the couple who needed a 3rd.
In addition, the author very kindly added deleted scenes in which she had wanted the story to go in a completely different direction. Upon reading those scenes, I realized I would have wanted that new direction and how Ret's and Alese's and Nya's lives would have been vastly different. I think the author should have taken the chance despite advice from one of her beta readers that her fans would have gone ballistic. I personally love when an author 'bucks' the system so to speak and writes something that causes us to want to throw our e-reader! I think the story would have been leagues more powerful instead of just an ok menage with the usual HEA.
A good read for the most part, if you like menage, then give this one a go. I do enjoy this author's work and will continue to give her books a chance.
I loved jumping back in with the ALFA crew. It had been a while for me and I was eager to see what the gang had been up to.
I loved getting to know Bears son, Ret. He is a chip off the old block and the ALFA boys continue to have that Bliss banter that I adore so much in all of her books.
This story did have an alternate ending in the book that the author explained. I am glad she did, but bummed out that she went the way she did for the final product. I think her original thought would have played out in a more gripping and emotional way for the rest of the characters. I appreciate what was done, but this one felt a little disconnected. I will continue on this journey as long as they are released as Chelle knows how to mix her steam and action that always making for an entertaining read.
I have read many books from this author and have enjoyed them all. I have also loved the previous books in this series. I am sorry to say this book has disappointed me. I love ménage books, but this one just didn’t have “it” for me. It wasn’t as hot as it should have been and was lacking real emotion. I never felt a real connection between Ret and Anya....no spark or real development between these characters. That was very sad to me. It felt forced. I didn’t see where he ever told her he loved her, she felt like a bit of an outsider in the relationship. I am sorry, but I can sadly only give this one 2 stars.
I wasn't sure what we were gonna get in this book going in and i was pleasantly surprised.
Ret is on his way to another case when James gets in touch asking him to try and rescue a girl who has been missing for months. He goes in and gets the girl who he found caged up. Feeling immediately protective of her he takes her to his home he shares with his long time girl Alese.
Nya feels embarrassed. She thought she had a relationship with her rich dominant captor but it turns out he just wanted a slave. Having been rescued by Ret she now feels a little lost. She knows her strict religious parents want her home but that's the last thing she wants. She knows they would never accept her lifestyle and even after being kidnapped she knows that. that is the only way she can live.
Ret offers for her to stay with him until she knows what she wants to do. Alese instantly takes to Nya. It's like they've been best friends forever. Nya finally feels comfortable somewhere but she's not sure where she fits in. She sees the love between Ret and Alese and desperately wants that for herself but she also loves them both and doesn't want to leave.
Ok, to start i'll say this book is HOT HOT HOT. I'm not really a dom/sub lover but i loved this. I liked that Ret was dominant but he wasn't over the top. Alese certainly challenged him even when they were in role. I've seen a lot say ohhh i don't like the two girls aspect and won't read it. I just want to reassure you that there is no girl on girl action they're just there together it's FMF. I wouldn't have minded if it were the two girls to be honest it would have been equally as hot.
The relationship dynamic was great. I loved that Alese and Nya became friends before Ret even got in the picture. But once he was i loved that it wasn't unequal and that was mostly due to Alese being so wonderful and not jealous. She was the instigator and i loved that!!
The storyline was good. It kept me interested and hooked me in.
As always it was great to see the other guys Bear especially and of course any Gallo is always a bonus!
The note at the end and the deleted scenes shocked me!! I may be the only one but i kind of wished Chelle had gone with her original idea... I think it would have given the book that extra bit of kick. As much as i loved how it is... i think it may have been a tiny bit better the original way and would have changed the whole thing. But that's just my opinion. Yes it would have gone a whole other route and i may have been heartbroken but i think it would have been good.
I believe that this is the end of this series and it was a great way to end it. I've really enjoyed each one and i'm looking forward to the spin off's i guess the rest of the characters we haven't seen their stories yet will be in.
Highly recommend!! Great reads, thrills n mysteries and a whole lotta hotness on top!!
Guilty Sin is Ret’s story, Bear’s son, and while it stays true to what readers have come to expect from Chelle Bliss’ ALFA Investigations series, the suspense, mystery, and drama, the main focus of the storyline seems to be the interesting dynamic that Bliss brings into Ret’s Dom/sub relationship with Alese - one that, in my opinion, readers will either accept or find a bit disconcerting.
There was never a doubt that Chelle Bliss would bring the heat and with an extra person in the mix, Bliss definitely wrote some sinfully decadent scenes - ones that showcase this new arrangement and how the threesome learns to connect both physically and emotionally.
I’ll admit that through a lot of the story, I really didn’t know how to feel about Nyla’s role in Ret and Alese’s relationship. It’s not that Chelle Bliss doesn’t offer a series of explanations and several insights into how the sexual attraction amongst the threesome developed into so much more than just a physical connection. It might be because I haven’t read many romances with this kind of menage, but I think what it comes down to is the fact that Ret and Alese’s commitment was already established, so adding someone else into the mix with the ease in which it seemed to occur took me some time to understand and accept.
I’ve been a reader of Chelle Bliss since her first book released, and throughout this time, I’ve witnessed her growth as a writer and the way she crafts each story with its own unique grit, wit, and steam. Izzy Gallo is by far one of my absolute favorite heroines. Some parts of Guilty Sin’s storyline reminded me of what went down with Izzy, which isn’t necessarily an issue but Izzy in a class all on her own, so I didn’t want another one of Bliss’ characters to take on that role.
Overall, I enjoyed Guilty Sin. I found it interesting to read Bliss’ remarks about how the direction of the story drastically changed due to one of her Beta readers. Through the author’s honesty, I understood why she crafted the plot line the way she did, but I do have to say that I would have liked to have read the path the story didn’t take…I feel like it would have added even more of an emotional aspect to the plot and it quite possibly would have allowed the ending to not seem so rushed.
3.5 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)
3 ½ Stars … I love Chelle Blisss’ books, she writes her men ALPHA but soft on the insides to the woman they love, her females are full of Sass and know how to “man handle” their guys. Her sex scenes are as steamy as they come.
I couldn’t wait to dive into this book and learn more about Bear’s son Ret. He lives what his sister Janice calls “an alternate life style”, he is a Dom and Alyse is his Sub. They have an amazing love that is so unconditional and filled with so much respect for each other. Ret will be the 1st to mumble to himself that he maybe the Dom but Alyse is the one in control, she even knows how to make him do what she wants in the bedroom making it seem like he’s punishing her.
Nya went missing about 2 months ago, and her parents hire ALFA Investigations to find her.
Ret gets assigned to the case mainly because Nya also lives the BDSM lifestyle. After rescuing her from a sadistic Dom, she moves into he & Alyse’s spare bedroom.
Over time they become a threesome. Nya is skittish at first based on her previous experience, but both Ret & Alyse shower her with love and affection, always asking what she wants.
There’s a few things that I wished the author did differently.
I think them becoming a threesome, was a bit too rushed. Ret & Alyse had the perfect relationship, they didn’t feel like they were missing anything, so adding a 3rd person the mix seemed unnecessary. I think if there was more of the buildup to her joining them it would’ve fit their relationship better.
The author chose to go down a different path with the storyline, then she had intended based on feedback she got from a Beta reader. 99% of the time I want a HEA, but in this situation, I think the story would’ve been much more emotional had the author stayed with her original storyline. And I think she that would’ve also made Nya and Ret being together seem to fit more. I’m glad she gave us the deleted chapters at the end of the book.
I will start with saying that I have loved all of Chelle's books and that is the main reason I wanted to read this one. Even though I knew going it what the book consisted of, I guess I was secretly hoping it would end up being different. There is a warning that this book does contain a menage. That is honestly not the type of book I read. So that definitely played a part in my rating. Chelle's writing is fabulous as always. If this type of book is for you, then you will more than likely love the book.
There was a different ending that was originally planned but she went a different route. I personally think the original would have been better. I have read other reviews that say the relationship between Ret, Alese, and Nya was seemless and just perfect but it didn't feel that way to me at all. It kinda felt like this is just how it is going to be and these 3 will live happily ever after. I know Nya was suppose to be scarred and everything from what she went through but I never got that feel from her. To me she never seemed to have any issues from what she went through with her previous Dom. She just immediately inserted herself into Ret and Alese's lives. I also don't feel that Ret really gave the choice to Alese about Nya staying with them. He told Nya she could before he ever talked with Alese and then just showed up at their home with her in the car.
I honestly think they would have been able to help Nya out without her becoming a part of their relationship. Nya could have joined them at the club and even watched them scene together. They could have helped her find the perfect Dom for her. To me, it wasn't necessary to have her be included into their intimate lives in the manner in which they did.
This subject matter just isn't for me and as long as Chelle's next books don't contain this type of material, I will continue reading her books.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
This book #4 in the series. It's helpful to have read the other books in the series, but not totally necessary. The characters are all explained so you know who is who and what is going on for the most part.
In this story, we have Ret, who is one of ALPHA's detectives / bounty hunter. ALPHA was contacted by some parents whose daughter, Nya, has been missing for a few months. The last time they saw her was 2 months ago right after her college graduation. Ret has been tasked to find Nya. Ret goes up to Atlanta, the last known location of her 'boyfriend' to see if there is any evidence of her being in his house. At first Ret can't find anything belonging to the young woman, Nya. Luckily he finds her though.
Nya is taken from the man's house and taken back to Tampa, FL, where Alpha's headquarters are, and where Ret & Alese live. Nya's parents show up to get her and take her home, when a Doctor is with them also, to drug her and take her to a institution where she can get better. Ret refuses to let them take her. Ret knows there is nothing wrong with Nya, other than having parents who don't approve of the BDSM lifestyle Nya is involved with, and he knows there is no cure for that.
Nya goes home with Ret, to Alese. They start by just being a roommate type situation. But, as Ret and Alese find out, Nya isn't broken from being held captive for 2 months. She is fine. She's more than fine to join them in the bedroom.
With three in a relationship hold up? Will Alese be jealous of Nya & her relationship with Ret? Will Nya be jealous of Ret & Alese's love and devotion to each other? Will their friends be ok with the new threesome romance if they find out?
Guilty Sin is the fourth book in the ALFA Investigations series which I have loved to date but this one, for me, just didn’t work. It hurts me to say that as I was so looking forward to Ret’s story and if he was as delish as his Dad. I didn’t realise Ret was in another book and met Alese in that book, so their romance story was out of this series which I found strange to include Ret and Alese as a main couple in ALFA. I was intrigued as to how this would fit into the ALFA world.
I could see as soon as Nya was introduced how this was going to go and it was not something I was wanting to read. I don’t mind ménage at all, especially if it’s three men (hubba hubba) or even two men and a woman, but two women and one man is just not my bag but even so I have read before with no problem. However Ret, Alese and Nya just did not gel and it was like Nya was just stuck on with no connection to the Ret and Alese bubble. Sigh.
I loved catching up with the other characters in the series who are as hilarious in their banter as normal but the romance was lacking. After having read the whole book and then seeing the explanation as to why this book had a turnaround I could see why this wasn’t a usual Bliss book I have come to love. I so wish the author had continued with her own plot and not listened to her beta reader. It would have been a much better fit to the series and one I would have loved.
Overall I still loved the ALFA parts so it is for these I give my three stars.
I’m going to start off by saying that a ‘menege’ book is usually a trigger for me ever since I read a book by someone else that caused me to be so so angry that I couldn’t even leave a review. But this one? It’s so freakin Hot. I mean, you’ll need an AC present and on while you read this beauty of a book!!!
Now, Chelle Bliss always fights Hot, erotic, romances but this one steps up from the three previous ALFA books. The story wasn’t intense but was emotional and loving. It was an incredible read with amazing non-complex characters and steamy scenes that will leave you wanting more.
To be honest, I preferred the deleted chapters at the end to what really happened. I have no idea why, but those chapters would have made the story more intense and would have given it more of a storyline than there was. Though I’m in no way saying the storyline was crap, because it wasn’t, but you know what I mean.
I loved Ret, and Alese, they have such big hearts that it will instantly transfer to yours. And Nya was such a sweet little thing who acted super innocent when really she’s just as filthy and kinky as Ret and Alese.
Another amazing book from this author who I have loved since I joined this crazy book world, when she was still writing the Men of Inked series.
Love love love this book! Well written and brilliantly portrayed, will most certainly get your blood pumping. I urge readers to one-click this (when available) AWESOME!
