A beautiful lie is better than living with an awful truth…

Evelyn Whitmore, nearly seventeen-year-old, always knew that her extraordinary abilities of creating life from her skin and much more, will also be her undoing.

But still, she lived the illusion of an ordinary life in Cleaven Hill, England, where she could love her family, enjoy her powers in the confined space of her attic, stop her best friend April from getting into trouble and be secretly in love with the beautiful Connor Bright for the rest of her life.

Until a deadly curse had decided otherwise. Unknowingly, Evelyn is the last of a long lineage of female Whitmores who mysteriously die on their seventeenth birthdays.

When death comes knocking for her, she miraculously survives her fate and breaks the curse, but she also discovers that cheating Death comes with a terrible price…

This book wasn't really for me. I found that the characters rubbed me the wrong way. I guess that is the sign of a good author to make you feel something. I just couldn't get past this to really enjoy the story

Fun, dark fantasy with a sweet romance sub-plot.

SUPER slow start, 66% of the book is setup, but great concept and story theme. Skim/fast read the first 66%, ignore the cliche rich kid at school party, and find the gold of the book beyond.

But despite that, it IS a series, and because the author already did all of her flushing out in the first book, I expect great things from the rest of the books in this series.

This book had the potential to be a 4 star book, but the beginning was not sharp enough which slowed down the story and would probably deter most people from getting to the good parts.

I found the beginning of the book interesting. But as the book went on the more confused I got. It was a slow reading book. Everything seemed like pieces that never added up completely. I didn't really like any of the characters. They were whinny or rude or just plain cruel and mean.
The story itself was definitely original. It wasn't a retelling of a fairy tale, but it needs a serious edit and a universal direction that each piece of the puzzle eventually will fit into.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

I have really enjoyed ageless and been unable to put my kindle down until I finished the book. The story is a nice mixture of fantasy, a teenager's point of view and a description of feelings, on how easily they unravel and how difficult to control they might be... some parts need a bit of a more thorough development and better explanation, but that honestly didn't stop my from wanting to keep reading or enjoy the story so much...
Worth reading every page of it!!!

They say it's hard to walk in someone's shoes. Well, I was definitely walking in Evelyn's shoes in Ageless. Intense emotions, drama, and amazing fantasy. My pulse raced throughout the story as Evelyn tried very hard to figure out who, or what, she is and uncover secrets, lies and the terrible curse placed upon her family. This was one of the BEST stories I have read in a long time!

How could you hide who you are for 17 years with the knowledge your life is going to be cut short?

Evelyn has grown up in a small town in England hiding her abilities ever since that fateful day at school that marked her and Kiera Davenport forever. While I am honored to read this book and give my thoughts I am going to be honest throughout this review.

I was hooked on finding out what events would happen next and how it affected Evelyn. The story started out strong however towards the end it was very disengaging. After Evelyn’s accident with the car, the story had taken a completely different turn. I was confused on parts and kept having to go back and re-read to see what I missed which ended up being nothing.

It seemed like the author had a lot of different ideas and needed to cram them all into one chapter or another such as what Evelyn truly is. The part where her long lost aunt explained everything was fast and very confusing because i didn’t know what an Elixer was or the tree of life; the book never really go into any details on those and skimmed them over.

The ending was very disappointing because it was cut short and not leaving me with the desire to continue the series. I am still slightly confused on what I had read and the actions of Evelyn towards Kiera. Ageless leaves a lot of loose ends that needed to come together, writing errors and it just felt like the author had rushed to get the book over with.

I hope when the second book comes out it will focus more on Evelyn and her origins as well as what she truly is.

I received a free ebook from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book and wanted to give it around 3 stars. I couldn't give it 2.5 stars, so I settled on 2.

I found that I had difficulty picking it up again to finish it, after I had put it down for a while, because the author took a while to really build up the plot. I didn't find any of the characters likeable, except Comet (the main character Evelyn's dog). I also found that there were a couple of contradictions in the book. Those contradictions seemed to be dismissed in favour of prolonging the plot. I was pretty confused by the second half of the book and don't know whether or not it was better or worse than the first half. To me, it kind of felt like the first half and second half of the book were written by completely different authors.

This novel was just okay. I really enjoyed the beginning of Eve's story. The middle and ending did not appeal to me as much, since every turn was a new "creature" or "magical entity" being discovered and used. There was a lot going on and very little description. The novel was fast-paced, though.

This was an ok read, starts off slow and then picks up a little in the middle, but then turns into a cliche, maybe it’s more suitable for a lower age than myself, I can see a teenage me enjoying it.

Very slow and “heavy” start for me. I couldn’t get into the story or it’s characters. Sorry, but I couldn’t finish this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.

Ageless by S ghali gives me a-lot of “Lost Girl” vibes minus the insane amount of sex that that show use to have. Meaning the main character is probably a succubus that has no real knowledge of the real world she belongs in and she has the help of a dashing young man to help her find her way. I think fans of adventure quest style stories or lost girl would really enjoy this book. I wont lie it does takes alittle while before anything really exciting or interesting happens. If you can hold out until then it is worth the read and a good way to start a series.
