It seemed like this author felt they needed to convince the reader the value of training your dog. And, that not just one chapter, but several, would suffice. In other words, it took a long time to get to the point. Maybe that’s just me. However, when I finally reached the tricks themselves, it was gratifying to realize that our little golden doodle, Pippi, has mastered several of these tricks already, we just didn’t have the name for them. She loves to dance, to bow, to shake and to catch. Retrieving slippers or the newspaper is another level altogether—her mouth just isn’t that big. Overall, I found this book helpful despite the long intro.

I didn't agree with everything (like not letting your dog sleep in your bed) but it's a really good book.

I read this book quite a while ago, but I still think it has lots of good information in it. I actually think I like it better now than I did when I first purchased it.
