Someone should tell my enemies that flattery will get them nowhere Mysterious strangers, warnings at sword point, threats of bodily harm. This effort to make me leave Egypt has made me more determined than ever to find the legendary Isis Cup and keep it out of the wrong hands. After all, I'm Maggi Sanger, full–time college professor, sometime grail hunter, and all–round stubborn woman who won't be pushed around.
And things are getting even more complicated. The local women want my help, my exasperated ex wants me to marry him, and the bad guys want me dead.
It's a shame this "series" was hidden within a larger line of romances. This could be such an excellent urban fantasy series! It's a bit different - goddesses instead of vampires or werewolves, but the characters and the magic are so interesting! I think there are only a few more by this author which fit into the same "world," and I wish she would begin writing books along this line again.
I can remember reading a small series by her when I was in either high school or college. There were only 4 books and each book was about a different member of a 4 person coven. I loved those books! That was way before I had ever heard of urban fantasy. I may have to reread them now.
Maggi and Lex are trying so hard. They finally achieve the balance the Goddess requires. It was so much fun watching a man as powerful as Lex cope with compromise. The romance is amazing!!! A keeper!
I adored this story about the Goddess Isis and her Thousand Names. Just like the way we are introduced to Isis, so we are introduced to her multiplicity of cups at the very end of the story. I loved seeing Maggie starting to understand that she is the Champion of the Goddess, that she is meant to be with Lex and do what has to be done to bring balance. I loved how Lex is made the King via the Great Rite that they perform together. I love that it becomes obvious that Phil cheated and that Lex won because he was worthy. I just enjoyed Cairo and Alexandria, the concepts and issues that face women that we must stand up for, all of it. A great feminist romance.
Wow. What a huge change from the first book! The second installment in the Grail Keepers series was so much better! And no doubt it was all because the main character decided to ditch her male-bashing ways (okay, so that didn't happen until about 2/3 through the book, but hey, better late than never). It also didn't hurt that the entire book was set in Egypt, which enthralled me, as always. A great addition to the Bombshell line. (A-)

I love this book as much as the first one. I was so happy to see that the author continued the story. I love Maggi's strong character and wish that the author would add more books to the series. I really enjoyed the Goddess storyline.
