A rainbow-coloured Stroogle emerges with a pop from a purple egg thrown away by the farmer. The gnomes are a bit frightened that the Stroogle will want to eat them, but the Stroogle is more interested in what's on the farmer's table. A struggle with a cherry lands the Stroogle in a breakfast bowl. The farmer locks the Stroogle in a cage but a bit of bar-bending means it is soon free. Escaping outside, the Stroogle is befriended by a mouse and saves the gnomes from a marauding fox.
Strong, vibrant colours, a lively rhyme and a light-hearted approach bring this entertaining story to life.
