I didn’t read this book straight through but rather used it as a tool. I thought it had a lot of great practical information in it and it helped me a lot to mentally prepare for PA school interviews. It has a ton of example questions which are so important! As an aside, I also found the mock interview I did through the PA platform (started by the author of the book) invaluable.
I took off one star because the section on MMI format is quite short. I think future additions need to focus on that much more heavily given that schools are moving towards that format. Personally, two of the three interviews I was offered were in MMI format.
I did get into PA school though so it must have helped!
Chile, my knees are quivering and my stomach is performing acrobats just thinking of my inevitable canon event. You would not want to see how many neurotic highlights I colored on this handbook... T-minus one week *crosses fingers*.
My rating will change with how my interview goes. For the moment, I found the book helpful in detailing several main questions that will be asked by the admissions committee. The study guide and master key questions at the end of the book were vast and invaluable.
EDIT: 😔 (rejected from my only interview invite in my 2nd cycle)
EDIT 2: Three interviews?! I’ve got this!!! 💪 (third cycle)
EDIT 3: As of 11/20/2025, I got accepted into PA school! My tips? Focus on the main questions (Why PA? Why our school? Tell me about yourself.) Learn to feel confident and do mock interviews with people you’re not familiar with. Try to draw in familiar experiences that will showcase your skills and personality. Be comfortable discussing and defending your viewpoints in writing prompts or group discussions.
I used this book to help prep for med school interviews, specifically the MMI and ethical questions because it was much more informative than most med school oriented guides. Thanks Jenn <3 now I have to reread
I am a first time applicant and received an interview last week. I immediately ordered this book and am glad that I did. It gave insight into the types of questions to expect and how to prepare, along with additional resources to ensure you are your interview.
I really thought this was helpful! There are chapters for each type of interview question and so many extra questions in the back. I marked questions that I wanted to go back to or ones that I felt were a little more challenging so I could review them later. I definitely recommend!
This book was very informative and I feel like it helped me prepare for every type of interview style I encountered. The mock interview and practice sheets within the book were helpful as well. I recommend this to anyone with questions or has little knowledge about the interview process.
Lol I didn't realize books I read on my kindle automatically show up on Goodreads, but this was a book, and I read it, so it gets to stay. I did find this book informative and easy to read, so fingers-crossed it actually helps me get into PA school!! Sincerely, a scared PA school applicant
OOP 👀 this book absolutely slayed. So helpful and insightful. Allowed me to think through so many potential interview questions. I feel much better prepared for the interview process after reading!
