I am usually not a big fan of written stories where present is inserted with longer flashbacks (here it was 50:50), but this time I really enjoyed to read how Damon and Bonnie fell in love and how we could see their journey from both of their point of views, starting from realizing their good points of each other, being aware of finding comfort in the presence of each other, having emotional conversations (hell yeah!!!) and ending in caring about each other and falling in love.

They fit better than they wanted to admit.

He felt appreciated in Bonnie's arms, like she thought he was something worthy or precious instead of the other way around.

I was glad that the first one who realized his feelings was Damon and that Damon finally found someone who appreciated him for who he was. It was such nice change to see that Bonnie was finally a person who could find his happiness, not the one who is always underappreciated. It really felt like her worth was highlighted and finally she found someone who was willing to die for her.

My heart focused especially on the moments when Damon demonstrated his kind side (I love it when the author can write kind Damon) and on the romantic moments such as when they held engaged in skinship, when Damon told her what she meant for him, when they were caring to each other. It felt refreshing that Damon felt carefree around Bonnie. It was interesting to see how his past relationships were put from straight, clearúrational point of view.

"Sometimes the emotion you feel for someone isn't the true emotion it's just heat of the moment. And anyway you know things change, people change."

Again I enjoyed humor which was presented through Damon´s remarks. I really appreciate when the author can pull off this character trait. :)

I adore it when Damon is protective over Bonnie and when his eyes turn soft, when he is looking at her.

And it was cool to see how Damon´s mentality and priorities changed, what worried started to occupy his mind.
He didn't think he could watch them both grow old and die however. He didn't think he could be caught up in that cycle of grandchildren and great grandchild doing the same thing; his whole extended family leaving him behind to always be the last man standing. Sure he would still have Stefan but it would be different and feel different.

I also liked that the author mentiond Damon as the protector of Bennett witches and that he could spot one a mile away.

This line got me:
...but Bonnie was his choice. He chose to continue playing guardian.

It was hilarious how the guys fought over the position of the godfather for the child.
I had to laugh when I saw how amazing uncle Stefan was. XD
(Stefan)Who used vampire speed to run him around the house and make him feel like he was flying or who let him sit on his lap and drive his precious vintage car.

I know that it must have been hard, but i didnt expect that Elena and Jeremy would react so badly when Bonnie and Damon returned from the other side. This aspect didnt sit so well with me. It helped that Elena decided to forget her time with Damon, but it felt like the easy way how to get over the emotional turmoil. :/
