Rate this book
When Keri Sackville began dating again after a long marriage, she made every mistake known to woman kind. She wiped right on scammers and fakers, spent weeks fruitlessly texting, agreed to long dates with the wrong men, and got involved with hot messes and commitment phobes.

She also met amazing men and went on sensational first dates, and learned how to navigate the minefield that is dating in midlife.

Now, in this comprehensive survival guide, Kerri shares her wisdom. Peppered with hilarious anecdotes from her five years on the scene, Out There covers everything from ghosting to negging, from Friends with Benefits to players, from the perils of chemistry to the pain of breakups. She will show you what to expect when you join a dating site, which men to avoid, which men are worth a shot and, most importantly, how to protect yourself along the way.

I am a mother, wife, friend and writer living life from one crisis to the next.

I live with my husband The Architect, 12 year old Little Man, 10 year old Pinkela, 3 year old Boo, Spunky the unfriendly rabbit, and a ridiculously white couch.

My book, 'When My Husband Does The Dishes', was released in May 2011 with Random House Australia, and is available in all good bookstores, or online here.

In my spare time I enjoy eating Nutella, fantasizing about Simon Baker, drinking caffeine and alcohol with friends, and lying very still on the couch.

Entertaining book about online dating as an adult over 40. I’ll be 40 in a few weeks do I figured I’d give it a go. Really funny to listen to and definitely had some good advice though I’m not sure I’m ready to jump into the online scene quite yet. I like my independent life! Definitely a book all older single will enjoy reading! 4 stars.

While not currently part of the target market for this book, I love Kerri’s writing and social media, so couldn’t resist! A quick fun read which I would certainly recommend to anyone navigating the modern world of dating - and it has some hilarious anecdotes and generally life-affirming advice for everyone else too!

This book was like talking to a friend about how f**king hard it is to date in this climate. The advice is practical and actually helpful. Essentially girls have fun, find single friends, and manage expectations.

It was a repititve and heteronomative but I would still recommend. ❤❤❤❤

Very relevant for mid-life daters - it resonated with me when I had tried this a few years ago with little success. She sums up the fears and delusions we all have (male and female!) at this time in life.

This was a fun and humorous read about online dating. It has some great advice how to get back into the dating scene if you've been out for a while. There is both practical advice on which sites to use and setting up your online profile the right way, and emotional advice on how to push through fears and insecurities that may be holding you back from putting yourself out there.

There is some great gems of information here. "It is possible that your friends and family assume you are lonely when you are not. It is also possible that they feel uncomfortable with your single status because of their own prejudices about relationships. Either way, their attitudes are not your problem, and your personal life is not their business".
I think this is great life advice everybody needs to understand and accept. "Your life and your choices are entirely your own, and you certainly don't need a partner to be whole".

There is also some great advice on rejection and how to deal with it.

This book has great down-to-earth advice on the online dating game, with some humour and personal stories thrown in to keep it light and fun.

Advanced reading copy provided by NetGalley for an honest review.
