Corporate Affairs #3

Daniel's Surrender

Rate this book
Daniel Ellis is a sophisticated, gorgeous force of nature. He doesn’t do relationships and he sure doesn’t fall in love. His bitter childhood taught him all he needed to know where love was concerned. One evening, an encounter with Matthew Worthington—his best friend’s brother—shook him to the core. Six months later the temptation of Matthew is further complicated by Shannon Whitney.

When Shannon meets Matthew she knows she’s found someone special. Walking in on Matt and Daniel in an intimate moment she realizes that she wants both men, equally.

Matthew and Shannon represent everything Daniel was ever afraid of wanting. The passion they ignite in him is soul searing, their complete acceptance of all that Daniel encompasses is over whelming. Can Matthew and Shannon teach him that true love does exist? Will the three of them be able to form a real family? Will Shannon and Matthew wait for Daniel’s Surrender?

Another "Holy shit!" review for currently off-the-grid author Violet Summers. This one was outrageously smoking hot! I loved every mouth-watering word. I sure wish Ms. Summers would come back and write some M/M romance for us!

This is a must read for fans of M/M/F manège and D/s. Absolutely delicious.

Hot, hot and yes, very hot! Love the entire Worthington Group series and Daniel & Marcus's stories touched me on many levels. Where on earth can I find guys like these?? The relationship between Daniel & Matt scorched the pages and then to add their ray of sunshine, Shannon just completed it. Have already read this story 3 times and each time, I allow the words to be absorbed internally. Ms. Summers' Worthington & the Velvet Ice series is becoming one of my favorite erotic reads....gotta go and fan myself.

Loved, loved , loved all three of the Worthington Group books. Although this was my least favorite, still a very good end to a series.

I look forward to reading more by this author.

This was a very good book, I liked the way the lead came around to face his fears and issues. Not a fan of the whole dom and the total control thing.

Wow! The perfect ending for this series.
All three books were good, but the authors were smart enough to raise the tension to the finale.

Cover- I really liked the cover, I love when we cannot see the face and I can picture them as I want.

hero- There is two as different as night in day and as cliche as it is, in all menages, they complement each other and make the perfect "man".
Mathew is young, flirty, happy, but at the same time he know what he wants and fights to get it.
Daniel is dark and shallow, avoids commitment at all costs. His baggage is heavy, but the book gives the reader a perfect journey through his growth.

heroine - For someone that has never experimented into kinky before, Shannon's acceptance of her feelings and of a total lifestyle was a bit too fast and unbelievable. But she was such a deary character with her fun and willingness that it masked the craziness of it all.

plot- The authors once again take their readers into a journey of the kinky world. It is a greatly crafted book, in which the readers can feel the emotions of the characters.

Impressions and opinion

This was one of the best threesome-book I've read. Mostly because their relationship started as a flirt and it grew in tension and feelings within the book.

I would recommend this book for anyone that likes threesome and BDSM.

I will look into other books from this authors. :)

Editing : I forgot to say, this was so so so hot that I needed lots of cold showers in between.

It was a nice read. I enjoyed it and the story wasn't too out there as to be just erotic nonsense. I liked reading each characters point of views but Daniel's definitely took center stage (which isn't surprising since it's titled Daniel's Surrender). Matt and Shannon had their roles but other than what they were designated to do (ie love Daniel no matter what), they didn't have much else going for them. Their motives and emotions were pretty straight forward and I didn't connect all that well too them. You saw more into Daniel's emotions and the reason's why he did things more than the other two and the glimpses into his relationship with his father really hit ya emotionally.

The sex scenes were kind of confusing at times though. There wasn't any clear describing of actions and at times I had to re-read a passage to try and figure out what had happened. Like "she looked at Daniel as she winked at Matt" i... i don't understand how that's possible unless she's cross-eyed. It was sentences like this that let me baffled.

Had the author spent a bit more time on Shannon's and Matt's emotions and their motives (as well as fix the poor descriptions), it would have been alonger and more complete story for me. But then it wouldn't be an erotica now would it? So overall, it was a very solid, enjoyable read.

Aww, Daniel. I wasn't expecting as much m/m as was in this one, or maybe I wasn't expecting it so early. I figured Daniel joined Matthew and Shannon, but that's not what happened. It seemed to happen much more organically than that. I really enjoyed how Matthew poked the bear. He wasn't afraid of Daniel and he wasn't afraid of his feelings for Daniel. I liked how he just accepted those feelings, even though he'd only been mildly interested in a man or two in his past. But he also immediately recognized his attraction to Shannon. And when Shannon realized Daniel and Matthew were attracted to each other, she really liked that idea. While I half understand Daniel's reticence to make things more permanent, I wanted to smack him much of the time. The three of them seemed to have the perfect chemistry, and Daniel knew it, but was so sure he would screw it up. So it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. At least it wasn't unfixable. I really enjoyed the ending. I thought it was really sweet. I wonder if there will be more in this series since at Marcus and Carrie's wedding, Dorian seemed interested in Carrie's sister. I wouldn't mind reading more about this family.

I'll admit I really enjoy reading menàge based erotica. Especially m/m/f based ones with bisexual tendencies. What can I say, it flips my kink switch. But this one didn't satisfy my curiosity.

The scenes between Daniel and Matthew were what I would expect between a free spirit and a stoic Dom. But when Shannon was added to the mix it felt messy. It moved too fast and I wasn't given an opportunity to explore her character. Even Matthew Worthington came across stunted.

Throughout the series references were made about the youngest Worthington so I kind of expected a play boy, millionaire philanthropist. Or at the very least a wild child who can quote obscure philosophy. But I was given a tanned beauty with a penchant for all things beautiful and kinky.

5 fu*king-AMAZING-stars!!

I LOVED this book ... and I know for a fact that I'm going to reread this so many times, I'm going to memorize every word!!

This is a fantastic emotional, romantic ride! And I never wanted it to end!

I love menage books and if you look at my shelves you'd know that , but this trio now holds a special place in my heart .. they were amazing and so very real that I felt like if I looked out my window I'd see them strolling down the street!!

I couldn't put this book down!! Not even when my eyes were dropping from exhaustion!

3.5 - One of the better Menage M/M/F books, there's actually a story to this love triangle. Unlike many menage books out there this one actually had enough development to characters that I actually care what happen to them. This book had likable characters and enough emotional tug to make this one of the better M/M/F books I've read in a long time.

I started this one, but it quickly became clear that it was headed toward PWP territory.

Now, I appreciate sex scenes as much as the next person -- but, believe it or not, I read mmf stories as much for the interpersonal dynamics of the relationships as for the sex.

Maybe I'll come back to this one later -- maybe not!

4.5 stars - My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/new-r...

Daniel Ellis only does casual sex. The playboy Dom learned at a young age that love makes you weak, and he’s vowed to never open himself up to heartbreak. At thirty-six, Daniel is still successfully keeping his promise to himself until he gets involved with his best friend’s younger brother. Matthew Worthington tempts Daniel like no one has before, and when lovely teacher Shannon Whitney is added to the mix, Daniel’s a goner. Still, Daniel is determined to keep their relationship all about sex. But even the strongest walls can’t keep love out, and Matthew and Shannon are fast making Daniel want to surrender his heart.

Daniel’s Surrender is my absolute favorite Corporate Affairs book! Like the first two Corporate Affairs stories, Daniel’s Surrender is blisteringly erotic, but it’s the characters themselves that made me fall in love with the book. Daniel, Matthew, and Shannon captivated me from the first. Shannon’s openness and sunshiny attitude made me smile and Matthew’s warm heart and energetic nature made me swoon. Is there any amount of bribery that can get Sierra and VJ Summers to deliver Matthew to my doorstep? Daniel, in turn, is the most damaged of the three. Because of the scars he carries from the past, he hurts Shannon and Matthew (especially Matthew). But don’t fret, dear readers — it wouldn’t be a satisfying romance if Mses. Summers didn’t redeem Daniel. I finished Daniel’s Surrender wholly delighted with the love story and eager to re-read the book again. Brava, Mses. Summers — Daniel’s Surrender is too fabulous to resist!

Thrust in to a position of responsibility when his older brother goes missing in action, Marcus becomes quite close to his brother’s best friend, Daniel, and gets drawn in to his BDSM games. Reticent at first, Daniel eventually agrees to take on Marcus and Shannon, his new girlfriend, as his subs. Many a hot night ensues.

It was quite refreshing to read a story where, although there were plenty of copious sex scenes, the focus was more on the relationship developing between the main characters. Our little triad here seems to balance each other out quite well. Shannon is the bright and sunny caretaker. Marcus’ constant smile and happy demeanor brightens up the room. And Daniel’s more austere, commanding presence shows the reader, even from the very beginning of the story that these three are meant to be together. That is, if they ever get their act together.

They love each other, I get it, and really I do. But Daniel’s constant “I want to be with you… I need to be with you… but I refuse to feel a connection so I’ll hold both of you at an emotional distance” really got annoying after a while. I mean seriously? So you had a crappy childhood… get over it. You don’t want to hurt these two wonderful people? Then stop withholding yourself from them. I wondered more than once why Marcus and Shannon didn’t just walk away rather than continue to bash their heads against the wall that is Daniel. In the end though their persistence and sunny outlook on the ability of their relationship being a real long lasting one pays off, much to the absolute delight of this reader and hopefully yours as well.

: I had a really hard time getting into this book whereas the first book in the series I enjoyed immensely. I’m not sure why. The writing was fantastic and to the point, the way I like it. The characters were well thought out and the male characters manly and hot. A few chapters in the book became exactly how I wanted it to be. Full of drama and angst with a lot of hot sex.

Matthew has always felt somewhat inferior to his brother and sister. He knows he is a hard worker and is good looking but often lacked the self-confidence of his siblings. He did not realize that he enjoyed giving pleasure to other men till he was giving pleasure to Daniel. Matthew surrenders himself as well to Daniel in many ways.

Daniel is Matthew’s brother’s best friend. He is more serious and not as open with himself as Matthew or Shannon. Shannon is the apex of their triad. She keeps them all grounded and makes their relationship work. None of them were looking for a relationship but found one in the most unexpected places.

Once I got into the storyline it became more believable and interesting. The main focus of the storyline was on the relationship development but as well as the sex. The sex scenes were sizzling and were super hot. It read in a way that made you actually feel like you were an outsider looking in at their relationship.

I will definitely continue to follow these two authors in the future. I enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series. Their writing is clean and very vivid. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a lot of drama with their sex.

Finally Daniel pulls his head out of his ass! Matthew and Shannon are smoking hot and Daniel is one lucky man. Now that all of the "Corporate affairs" seem to be over, I love how all of three of the romances were happening at approximately the same time. All of the dominos fell, one right after the other.

Matthew and Shannon were the highlight of this book. Both were loving, kind, and exactly what Daniel needed them to be whenever or wherever. They managed to do this and not risks changing who they were at the core. The sex was smokin' and the building of their relationship was sweet and naughty.

Issues with Daniel. I was surprised how childish Daniel was acting in the end and how ruthless he was being to Matthew and Shannon to get his way. He was not being very Dom like at all. It was almost a little too much. The internal dialogue with Daniel chastising himself with his fathers rants were over the top and the reason I couldn't give it a 5 star rating. Whenever I started reading passages where he started going on about his past with his father, I skimmed forward. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah....wounded and all that other stuff...next please.

omg, THIS BOOK IS F*CKING AWESOME!

Let me just say that I'm a m-m-f slut and this is now one of my favorite stories. It's very straightforward with no unnecessary scenes and sub-plots, the main characters are likeable.... the funny thing is, I'm a Matt Bomer fan and all throughout the book, I feel that he was one of the main characters, appropriately named Matthew and his pet-name is Matty, the same as Matt Bomer's! Perhaps that the main reason why I love this book, aside from the steamy scenes and exceptional writing.

Hahaha.... why do I have this feeling that the writers (yes, Violet Summers is a team of two writers) are Matt Bomer/"White Collar" fans? Daniel's mother is a namesake of Matt Bomer's ex-girlfriend in White Collar :)

The female lead character's name is Shannon, which sounds like "Simon", Matt Bomer's real-life partner. teeheee....

This story was my favorite of the Worthington series. I really enjoyed the interaction between Daniel and Matthew, and seeing Daniel's barriers get broken down. The relationship between Matthew and Shannon is very sweet, and all Daniel needed was to open himself up to what they had to offer.

They all had something to share within the relationship, and I thought each of the scenes were written very well. You get kind of a touch of the 'Dom' that Daniel can be with the first m/m scene right after an m/f scene. It was a very enlightening intro to me to the idea of m/m, and that I might like this type of story. Do yourself a favor, and read the series :)

Loved it

Realisitc characters I really enjoyed. There was an actually story that took time to develop as the relationship did. The characters had issues to face and overcome. Loved the scenes and would have enjoyed more of the three of them but there was a nice balance with the story. M/M, M/F and M/F/M. All very good.

Didn't think I'd object to this, but really there was just too much sex. Got to the point where I was just skimming the sex scenes, and as there wasn't much that wasn't sex, the last half of the book didn't do a whole lot for me.

Finished this in one sitting. As someone who is an avid reader and had been slowly losing interest in this genre, that is certainly something! Passionate, sexy characters who will take your breath away.

The last book to engage me to this degree was beyond Eden by Kele Moon.
