...ध्येयाचा शोध घेताना अनेक ब्रेक लागायचे, ठेचा लागायच्या. अनेकदा दोरी तुटलेल्या पतंगासारखी स्थिती व्हायची. माझ्या डोळयात भोळीभाबडी स्वप्नं होती. त्यांना प्रयत्नांची, कष्टांची जोड दिली. जेवढा मोठा संघर्ष, तेवढं मोठं यश ! काळ बदलतो, वेळ बदलते, पात्रं बदलतात आणि भूमिकाही ! बस् ! मनगटात, स्वप्नांना जिवंत करण्याची, पंखांत बळ निर्माण करण्याची, लाथ मारीन तिथं पाणी काढण्याची जिद्द आणि अविरत संघर्ष करण्याची तयारी ठेवावी लागते. माझ्यासारख्या तळागाळातल्या, कष्टकऱ्यांच्या, कामगारांच्या घरातल्या अपुऱ्या साधन-सामुग्रीनं आणि पराकोटीच्या ध्येयनिष्ठेनं कुठल्यातरी कोपऱ्यात ज्ञानसाधना करणाऱ्या अनेक \\\'एकलव्यां\\\'ना दिशा दाखवण्यासाठी मी हा पुस्तक-प्रपंच केला आहे.

repetitive book. same old rant in a book format. over the years what he has been saying it in youtube videos almost similar content is in the book with some tweaks. this one is highly over rated book. work done by famous person becomes famous, is only thought I get after reading this book.

हे पुस्तक वाचायच्या अगोदर काही रिव्ह्यू आणि मित्रांची मत ऐकली, वाचली काहींचं ठाम मत होत कि जर UPSC / MPSC आणि इतर स्पर्धापरीक्ष्यांची तयारी करत असशील तरच वाच …. तेव्हा वाटलं कि यात जास्त या स्पर्धापरीक्ष्याबद्दल टेक्निकल रूपात माहिती दिलेली असेल पण म्हटलं परिक्षा देत नाही पण वाचायला काय हरकत आहे आणि वाचायला घेतलं, पुस्तक सरता सरता हे सर्व पूर्वग्रह गळून पडले इतर लोकांची पुस्तक वाचता ( आणि कधी कधी न वाचताही) दिलेली मत प्रत्येक वेळी १००% घ्यायचीच असं काही लिखित नियम नाही; त्यांच ऐका पण स्वतः अनुभवा आणि मगच पुस्तकाबद्दल व्यक्त व्हा.

हे पुस्तक म्हणजे एक खेड्यातून आलेल्या कधी हुशार तर कधी टवाळ अश्या मुलाचा गाव ते पोलीस विभागात सर्वोच पदापर्यंत पोहोचण्याचा प्रेरणादायक संघर्ष आहे. UPSC / MPSC च माहीत नाही पण तुम्ही आयुष्यात कोणत्याही क्षेत्रात असाल आणि स्वप्न उराशी घेऊन जगत असाल तर हे पुस्तक नक्की वाचा, अतिशय साधी मांडणी आणि मैत्रीपूर्ण शब्दांचं लिखाण हे लेखक काहीतरी सांगू पाहतोय यापेक्षा एखादा मित्रच त्याच्या आयुष्याबद्द्ल सांगतोय असा अनुभव मात्र नक्की येईल.

खेड्यातून सुरु झालेला हा भावड्या (विश्वास पाटील यांना गावी भावड्या म्हणत म्हणून भावड्या) चा हा प्रवास बऱ्याच खाचखळग्यांचा कधी सुंदर आठवणी तर कधी कटू सत्य असा आहे, त्यांच्या या प्रवासात त्यांना प्रोत्साहन देणारी अनेक चांगली माणसं तर काही फोल ठरलेली नातीही तुम्हाला भेटतील, कोणताही संघर्ष हा फक्त बाहेरच्या जगाची नसतो तर तो स्वतःचा स्वतःशी, भावनिक आणि मानसिक अश्याही स्वरूपाचा असतो अश्या अनेक खाचखळग्यातून जो आपला मार्ग बनवतो, जिद्द आणि अपयश पचवत जो यशाकडे वाटचाल करतो त्याला यश सुद्धा स्वतःपर्यंत पोहोचायला थांबवू शकत नाही.

प्रत्येक व्यक्तीने विशेषतः विद्यार्थ्यांनी हे पुस्तक नक्की वाचावं, खूप प्रेरणादायी आणि आयुष्याला दिशा देणाऱ्या अनुभवांतून तुम्हाला शिकताही येईल आणि कधी प्रसंग आला तर त्याला समोर जाण्याच बळ सुद्धा नक्कीच मिळेल. स्पर्धापरीक्ष्यांना मला अनुभव नाही पण आयुष्याच्या स्पर्धेमध्ये धावायचं बळ या पुस्तकात आहे.

Sir himself is so optimistic in his life and very dedicated, genuine human being. When you read the book, you actually read the author. Very well written (poorly edited), inspiring and motivational book. Every young Indian boy in his early 20s should read. It has awful details of the UPSC MPSC exams at times, but other than that, gives a beautiful ride of 70s rural Maharashtra, a cool insight to a brave cop's mind and a story that inspires you to learn to pick yourselves up after every failure (we can never have enough of those). Good read overall.

मन में है विश्वास हे पुस्तक वाचण्याआधी विश्वास नांगरे-पाटील यांची जुजबी ओळख एक कर्तव्यदक्ष पोलीस अधिकारी म्हणून होती. जरी त्यांचे अनेक व्हिडिओस यूट्यूब वर उपलब्ध असले तरी ते काही पहिले नव्हते. केवळ एका सुप्रसिद्ध पोलीस अधिकाऱ्याविषयी असलेल्या कुतूहलापोटी हे पुस्तक वाचावयास घेतले आणि या पुस्तकानेही निराश केले नाही.

बहुतांश पुस्तक हे त्यांचे बालपण ते IAS अधिकारी या प्रवासाबद्दल आहे. त्यांच्याच भाषेत सांगायचे झाले, तर ही गोष्ट आहे वारणेच्या काठावर उमललेल्या एका रानफुलांने परिस्थितीशी दोन हात करून UPSC चे तख्त भेदले त्याची. एका लहानश्या खेडेगावात गेलेले बालपण, तरुणपणी शिक्षणांनिमित्त कोल्हापूर-मुंबई सारख्या शहरात केलेला संघर्ष, ते देशातील अतिशय खडतर अशा परीक्षेत संपादन केलेले यश, असा त्यांचा प्रवास नक्कीच प्रेरणादायी आहे. ग्रामीण भागातून आल्यामुळे इंग्रजी सुधारण्यासाठी करावे लागलेले प्रयत्न, शहरात, विशेषत: मुंबईत, राहण्यासाठी केलेली खटपट, UPSC व MPSC ची तयारी, आणि त्यासाठी घेतलेले परिश्रम यांचे विस्तृत वर्णन या पुस्तकात आहे. प्रसंगी बोलणी खाऊन, अपमान झेलून, खचून ना जाता आलेल्या परिस्थितीशी सामना करून पुढे कसे यायचे ह्याचीही बरीच उदाहरणे या पुस्तकात मिळतात.

पोलीस दलात त्यांनी आतापर्यंत अनेक मोहिमांचे नेतृत्व केले असले तरी त्यातील सर्वात महत्त्वाची, ज्यासाठी त्यांना राष्ट्रपती शौर्य पदक मिळाले, अशी कामगिरी म्हणजे २६/���१ च्या हल्यात दहशतवाद्यांशी केलेला सामना. ताजमधील त्यांच्या कारवाईचे थोडक्यात वर्णन या पुस्तकात वाचावयास मिळते. पोलीस सेवेत समाजातील विविध घटकांशी आलेला संबंध व त्यावरून हल्लीची सामाजिक परिस्थिती, तरुणाईची जीवनशैली अशा विविध विषयांवर त्यांनी केलेले भाष्य विचार करण्यास प्रवृत्त करते.

संपूर्ण पुस्तक गंभीर आहे असे नाही. आपल्या या प्रवासातील हॉस्टेलवरच्या आणि मित्रांसोबतच्या गंमतीजंमतींचे अनेक किस्से त्यांनी मांडले आहेत. त्यातील सामंथाचा किस्सा तर बराच मजेदार आणि त्यांच्या चातुर्याची पावती देणारा आहे. किशोरवयातील प्रलोभनांपासून ते अलिप्त होते असेही नाही. कधी कधी चुकीचा मार्ग पकडला गेला याची प्रांजळ कबुलीही दिली आहे. पण त्यांच्या सुदैवानं वेळोवेळी कानउघाडणी करणारी माणसे भेटली आणि गाडी रुळावर राहिली.

सुरुवातीला पुस्तक थोडं आत्मकेंद्रित वाटलं. बऱ्याच ठिकाणी "motivational quotes" चा सढळ वापर केला आहे तेही थोडं खटकलं. पण जसजसं त्यांचं आयुष्य उलगडत जात तसतसं ह्या सर्वांचा विसर पडतो, आणि आठवणीत राहते ती फक्त घेतलेली मेहनत आणि दाखवलेली जिद्द. जर तुम्हाला आत्मचरित्रे वाचायची आवड असेल तर हे पुस्तक तुम्हाऱाल नक्की आवडेल. UPSC किंवा MPSC ची तयारी करत असाल तर जरूर वाचा.

मराठी पुस्तके वाचायला पाहिजेत याची प्रकर्षाने जाणीव करून दिली विश्वास सरांच्या या आत्मकथनरूपी संवादाने. साधी सरळ भाषा, जसं काही एखाद्या मित्राबरोबर आपल्या कॉलेजच्या आयुष्याचे केलेले सिंहावलोकन. आम्ही सम वयस्क, त्यात मी ही ग्रामीण भागातून मुंबईला दहावीनंतर शिकायला गेलेली, त्यामुळे सरांनी वर्णन केलेला त्यांचा दहावी ते १२ वी चा प्रवास अगदी अलगद पणे डोळ्यांसमोर उभा राहिला.

विश्वास सरांचे पुस्तक अभ्यास करणाऱ्या हर एक विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी प्रेरणादायी आहे. एखाद्या स्वप्नाने कसे झपाटून जायचे आणि ते स्वप्न साकार करण्यासाठी SMART प्रयत्न कसे करायचे, अपयशाने खचून न जाता परत कसे उठायचे, याचे मूर्तिमंत उदाहरण म्हणजे विश्वास नांगरे पाटील सर. आपण आपल्या जीवनाचे शिल्पकार का आणि कसे बनू शकतो हे सरांच्या UPSC प्रवासाने अगदी स्पष्ट करून दाखवले आहे. आपल्याला ठरवायचे असते, आपल्याला कुठे जायचे आहे- देव तर नेहमीच options देतो. आपण कोणता मार्ग अवलंबतो त्यावर पुढील आयुष्य उभे राहतं . या पुस्तकातून सरानी अभ्यास - चांगला , यश देणारा अभ्यास कसा करायचा याचा एकदम सूत्रबद्ध साचा दिला आहे. कष्टाना मात्र पर्याय नाही.

भाषा ओघवती आहे. UPSC साठी खूप काही वाचले आहे आणि तोंडपाठ पण केले आहे याची जाणीव अगदी सुरुवातीपासून होते. विचार एकदम कडक आणि स्पष्ट आहेत. खरोखर प्रत्यक्षात असेच असतील का? की इतरांप्रमाणे भ्रष्टाचाराच्या किडेने यांनाही पोखरले असेल? सगळेच UPSC वाले यांच्या सारखे विचार करणारे असायला हवेत. देशप्रेमाने भरलेले हवेत. असे असतानाही का भ्रष्टाचार दिसतो- तालुका आणि जिल्हा पातळीवर? का सर्व सामान्यांना SP ऑफिस मध्ये जाणे कठीण जाते? का चुकीचे आदेश सहज खाली पैसे चारून निघू शकतात? या प्रश्नांना उत्तरे नाहीत, आणि अपेक्षा ही नाही उत्तरे मिळण्याची.

पण, कुठेतरी वाटले, करायला हवी होती UPSC साठी मेहनत. एकदा वाटले होते , पण सोडून दिले. सुहास ने दिली धडक, जर पास झाला असता मुलाखतीत तर... तर आज IPS असता. पण त्याचे स्वप्न तसेच राहिले. होते ते बऱ्यासाठी , खरंच?

Listening to his story of overcoming the obstacles in the form of society, personal inhibitions, financial conditions and what not, to become a civil servant, will make you feel that I should try harder to achieve my goals.  Whatever we believe we can do, we will do it no matter what!

His recollection of the fight with the 26/11 terrorists will give you goosebumps. It is the sheer determination and the view that there is no option than to succeed of the entire team in the mission helped them achieve zero casualty.

I have put the outline of the book in a nutshell but his every experience is worth reading. The language used in the book gives a touch of the place of his upbringing which makes the book all the more refreshing.

I would recommend everyone to read this book at least once. It will surely motivate you and give you the necessary boost.

I stared listening to this book just to refresh some of the memories about Mr Vishwas Nangre Patil. I remember listening to him in my school. He was SP in Latur and my school has invited him to guide students. A handsome young Superintendent of Police was definitely an inspiration. Later on I have heard so many stories and heroic moments about him and the bar got raised n number of times.

Regarding this book, it’s definitely a must read for students willing to architect their future and career. He has mentioned all the realistic struggles faced by any small town or village kid.

If you have listened his speeches, I don’t think there is anything new here in the book but yes people will definitely get a perspective from Marathi literature and writing.

HIGHLY MOTIVATIONAL

It makes one ponder that if a person from not so fortunate background can accomplish so much, then why people who have much more things at their disposal cannot.

The relatively simple answer that can be gleaned from the efforts and rewards of Shri Vishwas Patil is that it is not haves or have-nots, but rather it is the vision and dedication towards the accomplishment of vision which counts.

Sky is the height or rather is not only the height for those who have vision like Neil Armstrong. Sky can seen from visual eyes, dave to have a vision beyound.

नाव, जन्मापासून विलक्षण मनोगत सांगतानाच विश्वास सर नातलग, गुरुजन, मित्र, आदर्श आणि परिस्थिती ह्या सर्वांचे त्यांच्या जडणघडणीत किती योगदान आहेत ते सुरसपणे व्यक्त करतात. दहावीत ८८% आणि PCM ला ९१% घेऊनही Engineering ना आवडल्याने त्यांनी BA करण्याचा निर्णय केवळ धाडसी नसून त्यांच्या सामाजिक जाणिवेला आणि कर्तुत्वाला न्याय देणारा होता. तरुण वर्गाला व्यसन, ऎश्वर्य, नैराश्य,राजकारण यासारख्या गोष्टींपासून दूर राहून ध्येय कसे गाठावे याबद्दल योग्य उदाहरणे देतात. UPSC च्या interview ला विचारला गेलेला शिवरायांवरचा प्रश्न, त्याच उत्तर आणि २६/११ ला त्यांनी स्वतः दाखवलेलं शौर्य हे त्यांच्याच आवाजात ऐकणं रोमहर्षक आहे. तरुण पिढीने आवर्जून त्यांना वाचलं/ ऐकलं पाहिजे.

I really admire Vishwas Sir and hence I started this book! I loved the way he portrayed his journey from childhood to becoming IPS. At some points, the elaboration of the events/places felt unnecessary. But overall a great book if someone is appearing for competitive exams and wants some motivation on how to get rid of the adversities in the path and to accept failure and keep trying. The book's end is special 💛 I loved the poem he quoted at his interview and some beautiful lines he has mentioned in between. Students should surely read this at least once!

The book is a rollercoaster ride of a person from rural background on the ladders of civil services exam and his success in it. He has his share of struggle though not that rigorous as shown in movie 12th Fail but surely inspiring for people who has everything at their feet but still do not even try. Vishwas portrays his childhood day with endearment and those are quite entertaining. Felt his honesty and realness in those childhood tales. His description of his final interview on UPSC exam is the highest point in the entire book. Overall can be read one time.

Nicely written. It helps to understand the process and struggle through which civil service aspirants have to go. Along with Vishwas Nangre Patil's journey through his early years, he points out and expresses his opinions on burning social issues. He has written his honest point of view on different issues. It is really inspiring for civil services aspirants who struggle and have middle class, rural background. The language is lucid and enriching. Nice read!

पुस्तकाची सुरुवात थोडीशी हळुवार आहे. त्यामुळे वाचकाला बांधून ठेवण्यात अपयशी राहत, पण एकदा ते काही २०-२५ पानं वाचून झाली तर आंगवर कटे येण्यासारखे अनुभव या पुस्तकात आहे. आणि सर्वात महत्त्वाचे म्हणजे हे पुस्तक वाचून झाल्यावर अंगात प्रोत्साहनाची आग लावून जाते . प्रत्येक विद्यार्थ्याने हे पुस्तक नक्कीच वाचले पाहिजे.
