I am lowkey just flabbergasted what even was MTMTE #36 man 😭😭😭😭 that is some fanfiction-y ass plot if I’ve ever seen it like wdym Megs talked to Past Orion like that and the whole Brainstorm time jumping stuff to see his ex-microscope man what are we doingggg 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏 (I’m not mad)
Anyway it was really good EXCEPT I am disappointed in Drift: EOS. There was so much potential… but I gotta be honest I think it was far too fast paced and I didn’t dig the art style at all lmao. Drifts character development seemed very stale and happened so suddenly. All these problems could be fixed if it was just longer, or they put more emphasis on showing and not telling. MTMTE does such a good job at portraying emotions and internal conflict I’m not sure how the quality dropped this much 😭. Ratchet should have had a bigger role as well. The last MTMTE issue made it seem like finding Drift was such a huge deal and everyone on the Lost Light was gonna be impacted. But by the time he finally finds Drift there’s like one conversation and boom the audience already knows he’s coming back now AND! With no mention of anyone else who is important to him at all like he’s literally haunting Rodimus’ character and they ain’t even gonna mention him at ALL. Instead we got all these randos (sorry if you like them) that had no character progression (gigatron is so dumb I’m sorry) and simply there to bulk up the bland story. Justice for Drift everyone ✊✊✊

As usual, these IDW Transformers comics are great! They are so much deeper than the older Transformers comics could ever be and I never know where the story is going.
The 8th volume features a lot of great stories involving the cast of More than Meets the Eye. The secret of Brainstorm's briefcase is revealed and it leads to a totally new storyline. From there, the book contains an amazing story of life on cybertron before ending with the second Drift Mini-series. HIghly recommended.
