Her latest release is Trust Me (2/8/22), a romantic suspense novel set in San Antonio's historic art district. It explores broken trust and whether trust can ever be restored. The Midwife's Dream is a totally sweet romance. Heartbreaking with the teenagers' decisions, and heart-rending for Iris, exhausted, trying to care for a newborn, and take care of other new mothers. It was nice that Mahon was so willing to help Iris and it was nice watching love grow. It was also great revisiting Jamesport, Missouri again, home of real Amish and fictional Amish stories penned by Kelly Irving, Charlotte Hubbard, Mary Ellis, and Laura V. Hilton and maybe others. It was like going home in a story.

Loved this story. Certainly a lesson in not taking a shortcut to God's plan for your life, it's often NOT what you think it might be!

Below is my review of the entire collection:

I loved this tender quartet of stories that each center around a cherished family belonging. These novellas are always the perfect way to ease away from the real world for just a bit of time. Being short doesn't mean they are lacking for any element that you want to find in a good book. And actually it's a very good way to meet new authors and see if you enjoy their writing style!

Iris is an Amish midwife, delivering the babies of her friends, with no a boyfriend in sight for herself. Will her dream ever come true? Mason has loved Iris for years and is waiting for her to get over a broken heart; will she ever see him as more than a friend? Into the mix is are two teens who land in the middle of their commmunity with the girl in labor...how will it all turn out? A nice read.

Just wasn't quite my cup of tea. The whole set up just didn't work for me - unmarried at 23 is an issue? Maybe I'm just not in the right community to appreciate this, but I didn't find the characters particularly compelling. Some of the interpersonal issues were a bit confusing to me, probably because a novella doesn't give space to delve into everything.

This book has a different angle on Amish stories. Some diverse thoughts are expressed by characters in this book. I liked reading about people wrestling with decisions, when opportunities outside usual Amish jobs came up.

The Midwife's Dream is an amazing story written by Kelly Irvin. This story tells us that things don't always turn out the way we thought they would. The characters are very likeable and realistic and i enjoyed watching them evolve throughout especially Iris, the Midwife.

Iris is young but wise above her years. She delivers babies for her community, she makes baby quilts to give to the babies that are born, and she loves her faith beyond belief. Iris knows God has a plan for her but struggles to wait for it to play out. Sbe longs for a family of her own.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this amazing book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable review at anytime. I have rated this book with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that i can highly recommend to all those who love the Amish genre.

CONGRATULATIONS to Kelly Irvin for once again writing another fantastic book for her readers to enjoy. I will be watching for more great stories by this author in the future.
