More depth and heart than many quick reads
This is a beautiful quick read about two people, at different points in life, who are both grieving, yet have been thrust together by circumstances, and the mutual love of her parents.
Rand is a classic Hollywood 'good guy' / guy next door, who steals your heart when you aren't looking.
Maddie and Rand both seem to strengthen and grow, through their friendship among other things, over the course of this story, leading to a beautiful conclusion.

I struggled to connect with the characters almost from the 1st page. The H's name is....Roger, Randy or Rand? Who could respect or connect with an H who couldn't even get his name alpha enough to suit his huge ego? The h was very young, so they waited a year, but not really because he played a mental game with her even though he knew she was too young. To me, it wasn't very steamy, I just didn't buy their relationship, it was just step 1, step 2 and so on. I might be too harsh - again?

She wants to have him because she is 19 and is an adult, but she has the boys for him. They turn it into a game. If they are both obstinate for a year, he will take her virginity, and in the meantime he gives her a spanking to get her hot and bothered. In one year she will get what she wants, but there are secrets to be revealed by Rand.

A short, fast, easy read. Just the right size for the carpool line. I would have liked to have seen more interaction between characters but over all I thought it was a good story. This is the first Q. Zayne book I have read I am curious about some of her other books. I will be reading more of her books.

It was a good book, however the author could have input a little more details about how when the couple knew one another when her Dad and Mom was alive. But that is just my opinion. More details, the better in my opinion.
Otherwise it was a good short story and it would be good to find out how their future played out.

Hot little story
This book has everything you want in a short erotic read. Loved the characters and their interaction and liked the idea of the game. This book was capable of being longer examining the year they had together but this was a really good short read.
