So sweaty!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love reading a Carmen Falcone book. I know that when I pick one of her stories up, it is going to be hot and sweaty along with an engaging story and interesting characters.
This book started off hot and did not let up. I am not saying this book was all about sex. It wasn't, but the hotness level peaks every time Marco comes in the room. MMmm
A bit of family drama and some tender feelings tend to get in the way, but this story is a spicy read with the right about of heat balanced throughout. Another great one by Ms. Falcone.
This was definitely a scorching hot erotica with a bit of romance and intrigue thrown in the mix to keep things lively.
Marco's 89 year old grandmother is not long for this world and he thinks that faking an engagement will ease her passing. When he meets Lily there's no denying the explosive chemistry between them and it seems she would be perfect for the role of his temporary fiance. That spontaneous rump in the supply closet pretty much seals the deal.
Lily is desperately trying to cling to her mother's struggling hair salon. Marco offers her a deal she can't refuse. One month of playing the loving fiance for his family and all the amazing sex she could possibly want and in exchange, Marco will pay off her mounting debt and wont turn her salon into an upscale parking garage. It's a win-win.
But two weeks of close proximity, surrounded by family and friends and suddenly their little charade isn't as simple and easy as they predicted. Emotions start mugging the waters and Marco's past rears its ugly head.
I liked parts of this - I thought Marco and Lily in the bedroom were amazing :) It was naughty and sexy as hell and still managed to be sweet and romantic. It was a complicated combination but well executed. It was the second half of the story that dragged a bit for me. It felt like Marco compared Lily one too many times to his ex Angelica. He appeared so hung up on this sweet and gentle OW and second guessed how he handled their relationship. Which to me felt a bit like undermining the fact that if things had changed, what he had with Lily would never have happened. This kind of inner struggle that revolves around OW/OM is a huge pet peeve so I had to make an effort to cut Marco some slack.
Memorable Moments:
I loved Lily's parting shot to Marco, call me vindictive but he so deserved it!
"I was always okay with you being broken, but I'm not okay with you being a coward."
I literally wanted to give her a standing ovation for this moment. I related to her in the moment. She was hurt and vulnerable and heartbroken but she was still strong enough to speak her mind and in a way make a last ditch effort to make him see what he was throwing away by being stuck in the past. I'm a sucker for a broken/damaged hero but all too often heroines let their Heroes get away with too much. The fact that Lily calls him out and doesn't give in silently was awesome!
Memorable Moments:
The Gotham/Batman role playing between them was silly but showed a more easy going Average Joe side to Marco. He let down his walls with Lily enough to have a sweet playful side to him. The fact that he remembers Lily's love of all things Batman was adorable.
Favorite Line:
"If I have a devil dick, you have a heavenly pussy."
Cheesy but it somehow worked for this two, Lol!
Would I recommend?
This was definitely on the hotter/naughty side of erotica and would definitely recommend for those that don't mind instant sexual gratification before deeper emotions develop and if you like your smexy times with a little raunchy kink, this one might be right up your alley.
Marco wants to buy a small, rundown strip mall, and all the owners have agreed to sell, except a beauty saloon owner, Lily.
When Marco goes to meet Lily and convince her to sell, she mistakes him as a customer. From the minute they lay eyes on each other, their chemistry is palpable. After spending a memorable time in the supply closet, Marco proposes a month long affair to Lily and in exchange he will not buy her saloon and pay off her debts. She also has to pretend to be his fiancée for his grandmothers birthday celebration. The chemistry between them is so strong that Lily agrees. What will happen after the month is over ?
Good girl gone bad is a HOT and sexy read. It has a sexy brooding tortured hero, a sweet and sexy heroine, a fake engagement, emotions and sizzling hot bedroom action. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more from the author.
Marco Giordano needs to convince the hair salon owner to sell, he needs the location to build a garage. Trying to find himself a fiancée to please his ailing grandmother was complicated enough without having to deal with this Lily Jenkins person’s stubbornness. A client entering her salon put a stop to Lily’s musings, and when she looks at him, he takes her breath away. Everyone is welcome, she needs the business, but was she expecting him? When she mistakes him for a client, Marco goes along with it, but the sparks that fly leave them both stunned and aching, and Lily throws caution to the wind, and they end up having a quickie in the supply room. She doubted that he usually patronizes her type of salon, and when she asks him, Marco knows his answer will not go down well with the lovely hair dresser.
Carmen Falcone knows how to make things hotter than hot, and GOOD GIRL GONE BAD has to be her hottest ever! Yet, it is a marvellously sweet story that will give you little shivers of happiness at how lovely Marco and Lily act towards each other, regardless of the scorching sex. Lily and Marco fall in unstoppable lust nearly at first sight, and I had no problem with this as the romance took a while to fully develop. I loved Lily and Marco’s conversations, as well as the banter between Lily and her mother; such brilliant yet simple dialogues. Marco had a heartbreaking backstory, which justified his reluctance to commit. Carmen Falcone knows precisely just how far to push the boundaries, she made me care, she made me all hot and bothered, and the glorious ending to GOOD GIRL GONE BAD made this super hot story all the more satisfying. We all need this man who will bring us lilies …
"Good Girl Gone Bad" by Carmen Falcone was so good that I couldn't to put it down. It was steamy HOT and definitely not for a teen reader. Lily Jenkins works in a hair salon and when billionaire Marco Giordana walks into the Salon to talk about his company taking over the business she didn't realize he wasn't there for a wash and cut. As soon as she touched him they were both lost in their feelings. If you enjoy romance books you'll really like this book. If you enjoy reading erotica you're going to love this book.
Lily doesn't hold back she doesn't mind lashing out at Marco if the man deserves it, "...I came here to act as your fiancée, not to be treated like a Christmas ornament you only look at when you have to use." Marco was closed off at times, but then there were other times when the man surprised his woman by being honest, “I want to get inside you, on top of you, under you, but never, ever, over you.” I liked thia book, it was kinky.
A delicious sexy contemporary from the author Carmen Falcone .
Good Girl Gone Bad is about a preacher's daughter on the verge of bankruptcy and losing her family-legacy salon and a billionaire italiano hotness propositioning her to a month of uber sexy and steamy times.
Although the premise shocked us with a bout of sexy scene in the backroom of the salon with the heroine being said to be a "good girl", this has been an absolute delight to read for me.
The sex scenes were not overly done, just a good amount of hotness to be still considered as a contemporary and not erotica.
Also has enough amount of drama to create a solid story without over-plotting.
With all of that, this is a great read.
Just don't connect the title with the heroine because I never thought, not even for a second reading this book that she's a "GOOD GIRL". Probably because she was a preacher's daughter? But that's just about it.
Actually, "She's as bad as they cum come." *Snorts*
Smoking hot and I do mean smoking! Lily is the last hold out in a strip mall that's been bought up by two brothers, Lily refuses to sell. The tiny shop was her mother's beauty shop. Her Mom now is a retirement living home, her father passed away, Lily needs to hand onto that one last piece of her Mother's past. She's deep in debt, she knows it's only a matter of time. Still she refuses.
Marco decides to pay Lily a visit. When he arrives, Lily mistakes him for a customer at first, a laughable bit of confusion. Marco is all that and more. Dark, handsome and powerful and oh so sexy.
So after he an Lily hit the storage closet at the shop and then he hits her with his business deal, she tells him to take a hike.
Marco is all about contracts and paper. Sign here and I'm not emotionally involved and you know what you're getting into. When he and his brother Nico get news that their Nonna who will be 90 soon and might be her last birthday because of her failing health, nothing would make his Nonna happier than to know that he's found someone to be happy with. Marco had a tough childhood for reasons you need to read in the book. Not what you think either. So Marco comes back to Lily with a new offer, be his fake fiancé for a month, go to Italy and make Nonna happy and I'll do xyz for you and you can keep the shop. Meanwhile these two literally torch not just the sheets but about every surface you can imagine. I did find myself skimming a few of those scenes because I wanted the story.
It's a good story, loaded with family issues, men who are still little boys and one woman with a hell of a backbone.
This book is from the authors new series, Dirty Debts, and is sooo good that once I started I didn't put it down till the last period. The story has great characters, both are serious, funny, sexy and filled with guilt. The heroine is trying to keep her families business afloat while keeping problems from her mother. The hero has tragic secrets from his past and has grown into a man who wants no emotional ties; so dedicated to this that he has no romantic or business dealings without a signed contract. He needs her property for his new venture, and she's not willing to part with a business her mother built up from scratch. He offers a solution that is hard to pass up, but she must sign a contract and any break of that contract will mean losing her business. She's a preachers daughter and has no intention of hurting her mother, but can she do what the contract entails? I do my best not to give spoilers so I've tried here to give the overall view of the story. But there is SO MUCH MORE in between the lines. This is one hot read and is for OVER 18 ONLY READERS; but for us lucky ones over the age, the book is filled with snarky humor, emotional sensual feelings so volatile that it hits the both of them right from the start. So if you like sexy reads filled with emotions and humor, don't pass this one up.
Holy hotness!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this book! I had so many laughs with Lily and Marco that were unexpected. I loved that the author gave Marco more of a backstory so there was more to the story than just the contract. My heart broke for Marco's story but I loved the relationship between him and his grandmother because of what happened.
My only criticism is that I think the story needed an epilogue...something to see where they were in the future.
Goodness gracious, did Good Girl Gone Bad sizzle or what? Get ready for a hot, hot, hot ride in this enemies to lovers, fake engagement story that is certain to set your Kindle on fire.
Let's start with the fact that this book has a lot of sex in it. Lots and lots of sex. In fact, Marco and Lily have sex the moment they meet. In Chapter One. And it's one sizzling sex scene after another following that. If lots of sex is not what you're after, then you might want to give it a miss, but I knew what I was getting into and I enjoyed the hotness. I hear a lot of people complain about sex scenes and not liking to read about sex. That they skim them and they are boring. Nuh uh, not me. I like reading about when the couples get all jiggy jiggy with each other. It's the best part of the story. And to me, in a lot of romances, a physical manifestation of their love and attraction, so this girl is not going to complain about the sex.
The long and the short of it is Lily's business is failing and a big property tycoon wants to buy her shop to put in a parking garage. She refuses to sell. Enter Marco, determined to convince her to sell only to be swept away by Lily's gorgeousness (of course!). So they strike a bargain. Sex for a month, a fake engagement on top of that, and she gets to keep her shop. Not a smart business decision on Marco's part but he's thinking with his other head. :-p
I liked Marco. Marco has demons haunting him. Demons that keep him from engaging in anything deep or meaningful, hiding behind his contracts and structured life. He keeps everyone at arm's length in order for him to not feel, not become engaged and emotionally entangled. Protecting himself from pain as an adult because of the pain he suffered as a child. And he uses sex as a balm to soothe it all.
"“That’s why we have a confidential agreement.” “Exactly. You don’t trust me,” she said, her voice breaking. An emotion he didn’t understand flickered in her huge green eyes, making him feel smaller than a grain of dirt. “I should go home. This doesn’t feel real to me, even as fake as it is. You don’t need me—you have your huge ego and secrets to keep you company.”"
"“Happiness for me isn’t the same it is for most people. I…haven’t been given lilies, so I don’t know where to start. I like to know what to expect from people. I like to be in control, even if I miss out on other things. That’s how I operate.”"
Only Marco doesn't count on Lily. Sure he has a contract and a confidentiality agreement with her. They are supposed to end their affair in a month, but Lily is different. She's sweet, caring, and genuine. She gives freely of herself and she pushes Marco to confront the pain that has been eating away at him his entire life. Lily isn't in it for the money (okay, initially she was to save her shop) but because she truly did develop strong feelings for Marco. She wants the best for him. For him to feel love and happiness.
"...That’s why I’m focusing on what’s bringing me joy right now…and that’s you,” he said hoarsely. A warm expression washed over his face, the heat of his gaze burning her flesh. “You’re vibrant, real, honest.”"
I loved how being with Lily changed Marco's perspective on love and people. He, of course, still has a long way to go, but he at least decides to stop hiding and protecting his heart and fights for what he wants. He learned that all from Lily because Lily is brave. When it came to facing off a property developer hellbent on buying her shop, she fought for it. When it came to facing strangers determined to undermine her, she fought for her dignity and her place. When it came to the man she loved, she fought for him too.
This is my first romance by Ms Falcone and it won't be my last. I hope Marco's brother Nico gets a story because I'd love to see him fall for a woman since he's so jaded about women.
Lily should have known the stranger she had sex with in her salon's supply room was too good to be true, especially when he's looking to take her business away from her. However, when he comes to her with an offer, she knows she shouldn't refuse when it means she can save her business and have a month's worth of her handsome stranger's time in and out of the bedroom. Will Lily be able to convince Marco to give happy ever after a shot or will they both walk away when the terms of their agreement have been met?
I always enjoy this author's stories and I've got to say that Good Girl Gone Bad was a very entertaining read that was sexy and addictive because of Marco, the deliciously hot Alpha hero. Really, the way this story started had me reading quickly, determined to discover what Lily's reaction would be once she learns the hero's identity. Yet, it was from the moment the hero's proposition is made where things really get interesting, as he has quite the offer for her. Will she benefit just as much from the offer as he will?
Both the main characters were fantastic and I liked every moment they converse, as the heroine isn't afraid to challenge the hero to get him to open up. Will Lily be able to help the hero heal from his past? Will Lily be able to help the hero heal the strained relationship he has with his father? Can Lily and Marco convince everyone that their relationship is real when they both know it's fake? Moreover, both the main characters back stories were intriguing and I couldn't help but feel sorry for the hero, as he's filled with guilt over what happened to his mother. While the heroine, she's grown up the good girl in being a preacher's daughter and someone that would never accept such a daring proposition as to what Marco has proposed. Yet, there's something about Marco that drives her to be bold and daring and do something outside of her comfort zone, which makes her resilient and courageous.
Overall, Ms. Falcone has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was heady and convincing; the romance was steamy because the hero loves control; and the ending had me loving the hero's determination to make things right with the heroine, especially once he realizes how much the heroine means to him. I would recommend Good Girl Gone Bad by Carmen Falcone, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope, the fake relationship trope, or books by authors Naima Simone, Amy Andrews, Tessa Bailey and Samanthe Beck.
Lily has always been the good girl, wanting to live up to her preacher father's expectations for her. One man, a customer at her deceased mother's hair salon, changes her way of thinking instantly, years of being the "perfect daughter" falling at his feet...as do their clothes when they become intimately acquainted in the supply room.
But, when she learns his identity, she can't help but wonder if she's being punished for straying from the path set for her just this one time. The man is not only a billionaire, a sexy alpha male to boot, but he wants her business gone so his can take it's place.
She should hate him, right? Only want to touch him to either push him away or slap him? Yeah, the first may be true, but the second...not so much. Certain parts of her crave him and when he comes up with a proposition, a delightfully naughty one, her inner bad girl yearns to accept.
Marco's beloved grandmother is dying and wants to ease her passing as much as possible. All the money in the world, and he has a lot of it, can't accomplish that, but he feels an engagement would. The problem? He's not even dating anyone. When he meets Lily, and they share an intense chemistry, as evidenced by their scorching encounter, he realizes she's perfect for the part...of a fake fiancee. If she agrees, and is convincing in her role, Marco will not only stop trying to take her location, he'll also pay off her debt and save her mother's salon.
What happens when Marco and Lily's arrangement starts feeling all too real? Can Marco let go of his emotional baggage and embrace when he and Lily could have together? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as two people have their own individuals problems that can be solved by working with one another. Now, on a purely personal note, while there was no ow drama per se, Marco compared Lily to his ex too often for my liking. It seemed as if he still not only has feelings for that woman but also wonders if he could have done anything differently, which would mean they'd still be together, and he and Lily would not. That was not enjoyable in the least as we're supposed to be invested in THIS couple, not Marco and his ex. Lily came off seeming like second best and that is not a romance to me. If it hadn't been for that, I would've liked the story more as the premise was interesting.
Lily is in debt, losing clients to a competitor across the street from her and also being hounded to sell out, so a developer can build a parking garage for the new establishments they're creating. Most of the neighboring business have agreed so she's the final hold-out. She can't bring herself to sell, it was her mother's shop and she has far too many memories to give it up. Although she may not have a choice if she doesn't get some clients.
Marco and his brother Nicola are the developers but they've had an agent handling the details of the purchases. With Lily trying to dissuade others from selling out, Marco decides to pay her a visit.
That visit doesn't go quite as expected and is one of the hottest scenes in the book. It also goes rapidly downhill when Lily realizes he's not the person she was expecting.
On top of all the corporate stuff, Marco has a another problem, his grandmother is going to be ninety years old, she's ill with signs pointing to her not seeing another year. The perfect gift for her, in his mind, is for him to be engaged. However without a girlfriend he was going to have to go about it in a strictly business way, complete with a contract.
With the mutually strong attraction between the two of them, Marco decides that he can design a contract that is beneficial to both him and Lily. One month in his bed and he will pay off her debts, pay above market value for her space and set her salon up in a prime location. She has to respond to the offer in 24 hours or it disappears.
Lily determined to keep her salon comes up with a counteroffer. As he pretty much drools over her, he comes up with the perfect solution to his dilemma. She keeps the salon but she has to be his fiancé for his Nonna's birthday party in Italy.
This was a quick, fun read, with some family drama, a sweet and feisty grandmother, lots of sizzling sex and a few surprises.
Lily is just trying to make ends meet. After her father dies and her mother's health deteriorates, she is financially responsible for her family's debt ... but she will not sell the family hair salon to the big rich developer. Lily looses her head to a handsome guy who walks into her salon, letting him take her in the storage room in the back of her salon, only to find out that he's the one who wants to buy her salon. Marco was just going to ask the salon owner face to face to sell her property to him, seeing how nothing else has worked. But when he sees her, he has to have her and then he can't get enough of her. So he asks her to pretend to be his fiancee for a month to ease his dying grandmother that he is settling down ... and in return, he will pay off all her debt and she can keep her salon.
This book is definitely steamy! I could feel the chemistry between Marco and Lily through the pages of the book. Lily is just a good girl who can't seem to get it together, but I loved the fact that she didn't let Marco intimidate her with his good looks and wealth. Even though Marco had this big tough exterior, he was just a softee on the inside when it came to Lily. If you are looking for a quick steamy romance ... then this is the book for you!
