Life should be good for Aisling Grimlock. She’s engaged to a great guy, she’s getting the hang of being a reaper, and her rich father spoils her rotten on a regular basis. All that changes when a series of storms hit and the Michigan populace starts turning downright dangerous.

The streets are running with blood as people turn on one another for no good reason and the hospital is filling up with the sick and injured. That’s on top of the ones who are dying in terrible fashion… and leaving nothing but angst in their wake.
Right from the beginning, Aisling is convinced the storms are magical in origin. Of course, because she’s prone to theatrical fits, no one believes her… until the storms hit a little too close to home and Aisling herself is in danger from the one person she trusts above all others.

As a cop, Griffin Davenport is used to putting his life on the line. What he’s not comfortable with is being a threat to the people he’s supposed to be helping. The storms, you see, don’t affect reapers but those they love are in a heap of danger.
Aisling is determined to find the source of the storms, even if it leads to someone in her own family. She’s willing to claw, scratch and fight until the danger is eliminated. She’s also willing to whine, cajole and beg if it means she gets her way.
A big fight is coming, and it will be under a cloudy sky. Will the Grimlocks live to reap another day or have they finally found an enemy that’s big enough to take them out?

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.

4.5 Stars... A storm is brewing and Aisling is in it's sights... When a breakout of extreme violence occurs in connection with the arrival of severe storms, the Grimlock family must ban together to protect their own and battle black magic... The mystery surrounding Lily Grimlock comes to a boiling point bringing the Grimlock family to a potential war within itself... Of course, all of that pales in comparison to someone reigning in Jerry the Wedding Planner! Truths must be told and secrets revealed in order for the Grimlock family to face all that is to come... Everyone would certainly save themselves time if they would recognize the brilliance of Aisling and know that she is always right! Another crazy, fast paced, exhilarating, an hilarious adventure with the Grimlocks!

Craziness at Its Best!

I am addicted to this series! It’s highly entertaining with its quirky characters. Aisling is one snarky character, her mouth is her best weapon. She can talk you to distraction or or make you surrender with her singing. She loves her fiancé Griffin beyond infinity & her father & brothers are right up there too. And while she continues to get into both verbal & physical altercations with her evil nemesis Angelina, she still shows empathy for the woman who is losing her mother & will then be all alone in the world. Although as her father says, “Even when you’re maturing you always manage to slide back into your comfort zone....”

This time the Grimlocks & Griffin have to battle an evil storm that is causing people to become uncontrollably aggressive. How Aisling responds to all the different people affective is quite surprising. As the family desperately races to find the creator of the storms & stop the madness, Aisling must also deal with her wedding plans & her mother. My only regret of this entire phenomenal book is not enough Aisling & Jerry time.

Wow! This one just may be my favorite yet! The plot was original and interesting, and I thought the dangerous storms were a great twist. It really brought Griffin and Aisling's relationship to a new level. The prologue did seem a little random, but really that's a minor complaint. I can't believe this series is almost over, but I am so excited for the next installment to see what happens!

The latest addition to the Aisling Grimlock Mystery series was twisty, funny, mysterious and entertaining.

The leading lady, Aisling, is as snarky and quick-witted as ever. She pretty quickly realises the storms raging over her town are magically conjured with the intent to harm. The mystery is who has conjured them and why? There are several pieces of this puzzle laid across the book. We're given some of the whos and bit of the why... but it all finally comes together in the end.

An interesting theme comes up, especially for a Cozy Mystery, domestic violence. We see the main characters examine their viewpoints on this issue. The storms bring out the violence in people, men and women alike. The characters discuss how they feel about men and women being on the receiving end of violence and if the gender of the victim changes their opinion.

Does this instalment work as a stand alone? I'm not sure it is plotted as a stand alone, to be honest. The list of suspects is vague as the focus is on collecting information about the storms rather than on people. When individuals are named, their motives aren't clear. I think this particular story relies more on the characters and their development to appeal to the series reader.

This series is all about relationships and interactions, as much as it is about the mysteries.

Aisling and Angelina are fighting as usual. However, we see a slightly different side to them both as Angelina deals with her terminally ill mother. I like how the series has shown different aspects of this conflicted relationship. Perhaps at some point we may even see Aisling and Angelina working together? Perhaps not...

Aisling and Griffin are wedding planning and continue to find new ways to support each other. I like that Aisling has tried to become more responsible in her sleuthing. Griffin hasn't asked her to change who she is, but he has asked that she think about how he'd be affected if something were to happen to her. She still runs headlong into danger if she feels a deep motivation to do so. However, it's nice to see a protagonist who doesn't stupidly find herself in danger in an effort to prove that her significant other 'can't tell her what to do'. She's also the one who saves Griffin in this case.

Aisling and her family: The Grimlock clan once again bring laughs and moments of 'awws' with their arguing, teasing and loyalty. It's an interesting dynamic to watch how the lines are drawn over the issue of their mother's mysterious return. It's also funny at times to see a group of grown men (and a woman) revert to childhood antics when cooped up together for too long.

The bigger series mystery about Aisling's mother continues. I do wish each story would push that aspect further some more. We're at book 8 already and still don't know exactly how Lily is surviving and why she's back. At some points she seems to be up to no good yet, at others, there's a sense that she is genuinely trying to protect her family.

Overall, another comical and intriguing instalment in the Aisling Grimlock series.

Aisling has figured out that the storms are causing weird things to happen among the people in her town. But, no one really believes her, until they see it happen. Now, the whole family will do everything they can to put a stop to it before someone ends up dead.

This book was pretty good. I enjoyed Aisling and Griffin together, and I loved the other characters as well. The only thing I didn't like was Aisling's mom. I really can't wait for something to finally happen with her and she be out of the picture. She's frustrating, and I don't like her.

Other than that, I thought this one was really good, and I'm excited for more now as well.

Emotional Storms and Wedding Plans

Amanda Lee continues the story of the Grimlock family, immediate and extended, in a humorous yet emotional way. Another book that I could not put down. I love the continuing story of Aisling and Griffin, and can't wait for the next book, or the book after when I anticipate their wedding. The characters are growing and maturing with each book and the way it is written had me laughing out loud, and tearing up at times. The only part of the book I didn't like was the end, not the ending, just the end of the book. Now I have to wait for the next book. Hurry please, I hope everyone who is looking for a book that will take you away and allow you to engulf yourself in another world gives Amanda Lee's books a chance. I have not been disappointed by any of her stories and I don't expect to be.

I really LOVE this series! It cracks me up every single time I read one of the books in this series. It is funny, quirky and unusual with a hilarious family dynamic. Aisling is a one of a kind character who makes me smile every time she explains a situation with her own brand of logic. What else do you expect from a Grim Reaper who is the baby of her family of Grim Reapers with a mother who has returned from the dead and is eating people to stay alive? And to top it off, her mom doesn't like her boyfriend - but of course, we LOVE Griffin and we do not trust her mother (by we, I mean me!). And the relationship with her dad is beyond hilarious. He cannot stand any talk of sexy times between Aisling and Griffin and she loves to do it just to irritate him. It makes me laugh out loud....really loudly. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this series!!!!!

This is one of the best series i have read so far barring the freaky series by the same author. I love her writing and Aisling grimlock series is no different. Aisling is something to put up with , she's got a smart mouth, is full of herself, smart, Swamy, selfish but caring , loving and funny all at the same time. Other that that she's a reaper!
And there are things happing in and around town that are not making since. Streets are running with blood as people turn on each other for no good reason and the hospital is filling up with the sick and injured. Thats on top of the ones who are dying in a terrible fashion .. and leaving nothing but angst in their wake.
Right in the beginning Aisling believes the storms have something to do with it but convincing everyone else is a hard sell.

To see if she does and what else happens you will have to read the book...

Excellent, as always!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SERIES! I’m a big fan of Amanda M. Lee and have enjoyed all of her books that I’ve read. I love the snarky, sassy characters. The dialog between the characters is hilarious. I laugh out loud frequently when reading her books. In this series I especially love Aisling’s wit and snarky personality. I also love the relationships she has with each member of her family, as well as her BFF, Jerry and her fiancée, Griffin. The author does a good job of having Aisling mature a bit more with each book but not so much that it takes away from her baseline personality. It’s a very natural progression, in terms of her growth as a person. These books are fun, fast and funny reads. Guaranteed to make you laugh and feel good.

Once more Aisling's instincts are leading the way, and her family once more have to admit to her being right. The storms taking over Detroit really are magical in nature and seem to be causing problems for all sorts of people, including those that Aisling cares about the most. She's hot on the trail and once more she is at the centre of things. An interesting meeting with a shaman points to bigger things afoot and it just seems to tickle at the edges of Aisling's consciousness. Are we really going to find out at some point the secret surrounding her mother. In the meantime Aisling has made some enemies (again!) and needs to be alert as they come from differing directions. All this wrapped up in the usual humour and warmth of the Grimlock family.

You will not be disappointed

Once again Aisling Grimlock, her fiancee Griffin, her best friend, her 4 brothers, her dad (and surprisingly enough) her mom are all fighting off evil. You will be surprised what the evil thing is! I enjoy reading this series. It never gets dull, lots of quick witted humor, the relationships are tight and the characters are well developed. I especially enjoy the banter back and forth between the Grimlock family. I sometimes laugh till I cry. If you haven't read any of the Aisling Grimlock series I would suggest starting at the beginning, if you have read the others then you have to read this one. The series continues to get better with time.

Something about Lily

There is something bugging me about Lily... The way she works and manipulates Cormack and their children just really rubs the wrong way... Part of me wants what she is doing to be to keep her family safe, but the antagonistic way her character is written just won't let me figure it out. I just know that whenever we get to the "aha" moment, the series will be well worth it. Another good read by Amanda M. Lee!! And with that I believe in am caught up in the Grimlocks, so I will anxiously waiting for the next to arrive.

It's all about you

Actually it is. You get the best of both worlds. A funny sarcastic look at reapers and their problems and a look at a really good writer whose wit will help you enjoy it. Ms Lee's books are a great way to see paranormal activity in an unexpected journey. Her story's are fun reading and her characters are always as familiar as your own family crazies. What more could you ask for.

LOVED IT!!!

I love Amanda M. Lee books, my favorite series are The Grimlocks, The Winchester witches, Mystic caravan and now the new series taking place at the lighthouse. My only problem is that I read them faster than she can possibly write, now I’m waiting! I love your characters and the family dynamics and all the relationships! You Rock Amanda, keep them coming!

I really enjoy the Grimlock stories

I look forward to each new Grimlock story. They are a family of grim reapers in the modern world. If that isn't odd enough Aisling Grimlock the youngest is snarky with attitude to spare. Plus she has a childhood bestfriend and a childhood mortal enemy. The situations they get into are laugh out loud funny, with a little paranormal mayhem and mystery too!

Grim Tempest.

.Don't let the word Grim fool you. This book, just like the rest is anything but Grim. There is a story line. It's romance, comedy, and even some mystery thrown in for good measure. This whole series of books have laugh out loud humor, sexual innuendo, and warm family love. I have loved every one of these books. Instead of getting old, they are getting better. Thank you, Amanda M. Lee. Your talent, humor, and snark are great reading.

Another one to love

Aisling has grown so much in this book. I love it but still love the small peeks of her being childish. "I stole his car because he locked me in the house because I have a vagina." Can't help but love her lol. Wished I'd seen more of Jerry but the small parts he got was still funny, well somewhat. Won't spoil it for you. Just read it. You won't regret it.

Entertainment at its best this series rocks

This series rocks. Great cast of characters and stories. A family of grim reaper‘s. Follow the father for older brothers and the youngest sister as they reap souls and get into trouble and tribulations and then work their self out of them.
Definitely a fun and snarky series. This offer rocks in all her series. Check them out

I am on the fence about this story, The idea was good but the delivery was lacking. Not sure what the prologue had to do with the actual story, I didn't see how it fit into the story of magical storms causing people to become violent. It was sort of a round about way about telling the tale of a witch's curse. Leaving the reader to wonder which side Lily is actually on.

Amazing

Another Grimlock story, just when I think that will be it, I remember Mama, is still in it and we still need answers to bring it to a close, maybe the next book. Seriously, storms that bring out the worst in people? What an amazing idea to bring to the table, Ms. Lee, I love how you have such great ideas to keep me coming back for more, thank you for sharing with us.

Love the Grimlocks!

Knowing Aisling's story is soon coming to an end is devastating! I am happy that a spin off will soon begin.

I can't decide how I feel about Lily Grimlock. I do feel she is sketchy, but sense she will sacrifice herself in the last book.

When will the men is Aisling's life learn not to doubt her instincts? That is annoying.

More to come (I hope)

I realise it's not always easy for an author to keep writing in a series. But the Grimlock series has grown and expanded as has the Grimlock family, especially Aisling. I find myself wondering what other trouble she can get into as each plot is different. Hopefully the stories won't end soon. Looking forward to more mayhem & magic.

If you are #8 into the books you know how they are going to go. The mother is still an issue and there is a wedding coming up. I did not mention the storms because I think that was an after thought not the main story. I feel that there needs to be a new character or bring someone more towards the center

Magical storms that turn people violent hit town.

What I enjoyed:
* Family interactions
* I would say I was annoyed no one believed Aisling's theory after the zombie thing, but in reality a couple brothers pulled through
* Still unsure whose side Lily is ultimately on

What could be better:
* Why hasn't Maya been around for a few books?
* More Jerry time

Evil Storms

This time round Aisling is convinced all of the storms they’re having are evil. Cillian soon agrees and as the Reapers are immune it’s a race to find out how to stop them as the hospital’s flood with the injured.

Just what is their Mum up to? She’s being extra shady too.

as good as always!

This is one of my favorite authors. I can’t even pick a favorite series, they’re all so good. What can I say? Creepy Officer Green gets even worse in this book. And all our darling lovebirds suffer though tribulations, whilst getting even stronger. I could never be Aisling, but she is so much fun to read about.

As entertaining as always

Nice to see some quieter minutes between Aisling and her sworn enemy. Great book all around though. Aisling had a few grown up moments and I liked that but it doesn't take from the overall fun and crazy.
