Mallory McDonald might have bitten off more than she could chew when she moved to Nashville. That could be because the temporary rental she's in is a dump, or it might be that the police just kicked in the door of said rental and came in with their weapons drawn.
Officer John Wright is stunned to realize the girl standing in front of him with her hands up is the former neighbor he's pined over for years. Now that he's finally got her within his sights, he plans never to let her go.
USA Today Bestselling Author Ella Fox has learned a bunch of stuff along the way but the most important of all those things is that anything is possible when you try. In 2012 she took a big leap of faith and published her first book, Broken Hart. Once that happened, her entire life changed.
Ella's favorite things are music, movies, traveling, and, of course, reading. This isn't a surprise considering the fact that her mom is USA Today Bestselling Author Suzanne Halliday.

What an incredibly cute story! I loved this couple. This is my third book in the Until Kindle World Series and they have all been fantastic. Aurora Rose Reynolds picked some really awesome authors to enter her writing world.
I've not read Ella Fox before but after this book I really need to check out all her books. I loved how cute Mallory and John were. It's not always easy to create such an innocent and naive character like Mallory and make it believable. Ella did a great job of not only achieving this goal but making Mallory adorable. She wasn't over the top which can come off as cheesy sometimes.
I loved John for Mallory. He's been pining for her for 3 years and normally I want my Hero's to go after their heroines but I actually really like the reason he waited for her. He was so protective and took such great care of Mallory. You are going to fall so fast and far for him!
Really cute story and I loved it! ARC provided by author.
Another sweet story. Nico and Leo are also in the book.
The story is about John and Mallory.
He's a cop and they were neighbors in Chattanooga for two years.. Her grandmother was so strict and they never had the chance to spend time together. After her grandmother passed away, she went to Nashville to find him. He moved there six months ago but he never forgot her.
Something happened and they met again. This time, he'll never leave her again.
Even though Until Mallory is short, it's mostly fully fleshed out. John and Mallory are amazing characters and so perfect for each other. I like that they're both realistic characters. Just two interesting, likable leads with a strong emotional and physical bond. A romance with no drama and just the juicy bits! This story features cameo appearances by Nico Mayson from Aurora Rose Reynolds Until series.
Mallory has come to Tennessee on a mission, but things aren't going at all like planned, that is until the exact man she's been looking, John Wright, for comes barreling through her door. Talk about Fate having its ways, for three years now, John has been obsessed, since first laying eyes on her, with his then neighbor. He immediately knew she was the one, but after two years of being stopped of getting what he wanted, he decided to move, but not once he forgot his little sweet Mallory, and now, destiny, or should we say, the BOOM was throwing in a big neon sign saying it was time to get what he wanted!
“The boom, man. When it hits, it hits. Have fun, brother.”
And get he did! FULL STEAM AHEAD! Yep, that's what three years of craving resulted in. A lot of sweet, a lot of sizzle and a whole lot of LOVE! Nico's, John's partner on the force along with Leo and the Mayson connection to the story, - yay, there is never too much Nico, aka MY Mayson, in our lives! - teasing about the Boom, was no teasing really when it was plain for everyone to see that John has been dreaming of this woman for three years. Mallory wanted John as much as she wanted him, so even though it may have seem fast, the extended built up in their hearts and minds, had to result in this insta combustion of sweetness and love! Until Mallory was such a perfect fitting story to ARR's Happily Ever Alpha World! Pure sweetness and pure Alpha, the perfect romance combo! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
“To me, coming across you today is proof that what’s meant to happen will find a way.”
"You’re mine, Mallory—and I’m damn sure yours.”

This is a great addition to the series both characters were so likeable and loved the cameo from Nico Mayson.
Mallory has moved to Nashville to find the man she fell in love with three years ago, but six months ago he upped and left. Now her over bearing grandmother has gone she’s ready to find her place in the big bad world, but things don’t go to plan when she arrives at her new apartment, things go from bad to worse when her door is broken down by armed police, and there stands the man she came to find.
John loved Mallory from the moment he saw her but her grandmother kept them apart. Unable to watch the girl he loves but can’t have he made the move to Nashville, but now she’s here there is no way she’s getting away for a second time.
The Until series is one of my faves so this for me was a great read. This author writes so convincingly even in her short stories that you don’t notice how quick of a read it is. Highly recommended safe read.
Super sugary sweet. But I don't love young, naïve, totally innocent heroines. And I need my heroes a bit more determined (like finding a way around the grandma) But I still really enjoyed the story.
Very short, cute, sugary sweet and romantic. The charming police officer H is besotted with the heroine and stayed celibate during the months they were apart. A nice little novella that takes only about one hour to read.
Until Mallory by Ella Fox is the story of John Wright and Mallory McDonald. This book is part of the Happily Ever Alpha Series. This can be a standalone book but the previous characters from the other books due make an appearance. Mallory and John where neighbors, but Mallory lived with her very protective Grandmother who had strict rules and thoughts. John attempted to get Mallory's grandmother to give him permission to date her but she wouldn't, so he moved away to try to get past his feelings. But now 6 moths later he finds Mallory has come to his town where he learns she alone now as her grandmother has past. John quickly moves in to take her home and make her his.
Another short story set in ARR's Kindle Worlds Until series. This is a second chance at love where Mallory makes a move from Chattanooga to Nashville after her strict grandmother passed away in the hopes of seeing Officer John Wright again. John was neighbors with Mallory and her grandmother for two years and knew she was the one for him. He repeatedly asked her grandmother if he could date Mallory, but she continuously refused. Unable to live so close to Mallory, John transferred to Nashville six months ago. They meet up again after a police said invades the home where Mallory is renting the dump of basement apartment.
Great story. One of my favorites. Short and to the point. I love when they are together most of the story. No drama, just a 2 year separation, they were never together before the separation. No one else after they meet. Great read.
Here is another novella book with ARR Kindle World Happily Ever Alpha ---- Until Mallory by Ella Fox. This is most definitely a swoon worthy addition to Happily Ever Alpha with the insta-love that happened 2 years previously but nothing happened until 2 years later when Mallory moved to find John after he moved away- after he moved, Mallory missed him so much and felt they had this chemistry so she upped and moved to where he now lived to see if she could find him again and see if they could have a chance at a relationship. By then it was friends to lovers/ sort-of-second-chance romance by this time. John and Mallory make the perfect ARR couple. Mallory was really sweet, very kind while John is very alpha, possessive in the best way and strong. John keeps Mallory down to earth since she is comes off as naïve so he keeps things real and makes sure she isn’t taken advantage of. Their story was short and sweet with tons of heat. The best kind of romance read. I love Ms. Fox’s writing style and was very excited to hear she would have a novella in the ARR Happily Ever Alpha series. It is very good and one of those that should be read and savored.
My Rating: 4.7 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
This was quick, sweet and wonderful. You can even say it's second chance romance. If it meant to happen it will. I liked John and his fast ways. Lol. That guy don't waste time, when opportunity lands in his lap. I loved that.
"I'm closer to the girl I've pined for than I've ever been, and I know without a doubt there's no way I'll be able to walk away again."
I really enjoyed this short story! It was a sweet, sort-of-second-chance romance!! It was great as a novella, but I really wish we could have had the back story to the characters in a full-length novel. I would have loved to see how their almost-romance began!
Mallory McDonald has had a crush on her neighbor since he moved in next door. But, she never got the chance to act on it, being under the watchful eye of her grandmother. He up and moved to Nashville to join their police department six months ago. Now free, she's heading to Nashville to find him. However, she never thought she'd run in to him as he was busting down her basement apartment door on a bust. Not exactly how she planned her first day in Nashville. Swooping in to save the day, could it be that he actually feels the same for her after all this time? Could her fantasies actually be turning in to reality??
John Wright tried endlessly to take Mallory on a date when she lived next door, each time being turned away by Mallory's grandmother. Needing a fresh start, and any way to get her out of his mind, he joins the police department in Nashville. On a drug raid, he expects to find the low-life they've been looking for. What he didn't expect to find was her. Living in this scum's basement. No way is he letting this happen. He's going to protect her. He's going to keep her and never let her go this time. He finally has the girl of his dreams and he wants forever. And it seems like she's on board with the plan.
How can anyone not love the Mayson's and the insta-love, BOOM they give us? In this one, it's not any of the Mayson's, but instead, friend of NIco's from the force, John and the girl he moved away from six months before. KNowing he loved her, and not being able to have her due to her strict grandmother, he had to get away before it killed him. Little did he know, that after her grandma passed a month after he left, she was fighting to get to him. Now, I'll admit, it's a little far fetched.. but, who cares... that's what makes these reads so amazing. It gives you the "destiny" or the "Fate" that you want to believe in
After moving into a crap apartment, sight unseen, Mallory could've probably guessed that her shady landlord was....well, shady. After only an hour in her new, dumpy apartment in Nashville, where John moved to.... her new place gets raided and it puts her face to face with the man she moved to find. Not taking any chances, he loads her up in his cruiser and takes her home....where she belongs....
Like I said, a little far-fetched, but it's so cute.... we go from the first date, to the first month, to the first year, so quickly... but I loved reading these two and wouldn't mind reading more from them! Loving this Happily Ever Alpha! On to the next!
My first Happily Ever Alpha World but also first Ella's book that I have read. It was OK, and OK word is difficult as it could mean many things, in this case it means 'I wish it was slightly more exciting but I still half liked it'. For some I might not make sense but read this and you'll see what I mean.
I found Mallory a little clueless. She was like a little lamb that's lost and has no idea about the world. Completely innocent and left defenseless until John literally kicked the door down and took her under his wing. It wasn't her fault but the way she was raised, with sticked rules and discipline, but at some moments I just wished she showed that she has that backbone or sassy tongue. I guess not all the books will have heroines I will like...
If it comes to the writing, I like novellas and style of the author suits me well. Similar to Alexa Riley and everyone knows how much I like that duet! Will definitely check out other books!
One more note about the story: I really really wished the love scene was from Mallory's perspective and not John's. It was her feeling for the first time and I believe it would bring that special something to the read.
Characters- What did the characters do? H a cop John 4 stars, he was sweet and he wasn't afraid to show his love. h will be working at an organic bath and candle shop. Mallory 4 stars, even though she was innocent she wasn't scared of love either, and I really liked that.
Favorite part- *The cat *The ending was perfect.
Least favorite part- I cant put my finger on it, but there was just something missing.
Tooth-achingly sweet and innocent girl meets up with a tough cop. Cute little novella to spend an hour or so with.
This moment, right before their first kiss - so so swoony: I want to take care of you, honey. I always have. This is a privilege for me-not some burden I don't want to take on.
Kinda reminds me of an Alexa Riley book with the sweet virgin being the obsession of an older man - with almost daddy-kink feels because she was SO innocent (but it still worked for me).
Ooohh Officer John Wright, the things I’d let him do to me with a pair of cuffs would be down right illegal 😉 anyway back to the story, John’s out on the job when he finds himself face to face with Mallory again his old neighbour who he’d be lusting after for a long time and now he gets his chance to make her his and that he does.
I loved this book my only criticism if you could call it that is that it was to short but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a 5 star read.
This one was interesting. Insta-love, virgin, alpha male—all things I can definitely like in a story. The male character has an aversion to using “l”—when he talks it’s like he just forgets to say I and goes straight to the rest of the sentence (obviously this was a personal problem, it may not bug you at all). He also cannot talk to the female character without using a term of endearment. Overall, it had potential, but it just didn’t pan out for me.
Short and sweet!! Love it. Mallory has such a strict upbringing by her Grandmother and John tried to date her but Grandma was against it. 2 years later Mallory went to Tennessee to look for John and didn’t expect to meet him the way they did. This story was sweet. John got his BOOM and a cameo of Nico..awesome!!
Mallory just moved in a shitty rented apartment for a day when cops broke down her door. It was John, the neighbor she has crush on. John used to ask her grandmother to date Mallory but got rejected each and every time because her grandma wanna keep her pure and sin free. John immediately brought her to his place. Later he took her v-card and got married with a baby on the way.
