After an accident leaves Alan in a coma, he wakes up inside his mind with no memory of whom or where he is. Through subtle clues and reliving memories, he soon realizes the stakes at hand as he battles the demons within. Faced with an impossible decision, he must decide between the ultimate sacrifice or saving himself. Time is of the essence in this fantasy driven mystery.
This story intrigued me and kept me reading to the end. The English used was a bit quirky and I wonderd if this novel was a translation, since sentences were disjointed and words weren't used in the right context. I found myself having to retranslate to understand the narrative. However, the plot held me and I wanted to know what happened to Alan, and if he would get home. Some parts were quite poignant, especially at the end. I must admit I had a tear in my eye. Despite the strange English, I have bought the second book in the series. And I'm hoping that the author found someone to thoroughly edit and proofread it. If this had been done with October, then I believe I would have given five stars.
