I felt like this could have been edited down a lot. It was a great story but I kept speed reading to get to the point.

The first chapter was great and I love the implication of the trajectory of Ed and Roy's relationship for later on, and I love that this starts off with Ed figuring out that his feelings for Roy are returned and he fully plans to act on that when he sees him again after getting back home safely after surviving a war largely on his own. So this started off really great. But then chapter 2 and the majority of 3 were so damn slow that by the time Ed finally makes it to safety across the boarder and is guaranteed to get all the way back home safely- I just don't care anymore.
