Tony “Minnow” Baitcaster loves nothing more than being a Delta Force Operative. He goes on a camping trip trying to battle PTSD. An unfortunate accident while camping leads Tony back to the only woman he’s ever loved. Alexia Monroe isn’t happy to see Tony in her ER. She can’t forgive the way he ended this between them. Now that Tony sees her again old feelings flare up. Will they give their love a second chance or will Tony push her away again?
3 stars because the editing is so bad. Mis-used words, grammatical errors , incomplete sentences and more. Liked the story of Tony and Lexi. But the best parts were the writing around his dealing with his PTSD. These romances tend to always make the hero glamorous but Tony's story put some realism to the life of our military personnel.
4.5 Stars I always love getting my hands on one of Jen's Delta Force stories. This story is no different. I loved the tough subject matter of PTSD that Jen broaches with her character Tony. This is a military romance, but it doesn't have the military drama that is typical, this is more of an on-leave story. Plus Lexi and Tony once were lovers, but because of their lives and their goals, they need to go about their separate ways. So I love this second chance at love with a military twist.
I feel really crap about this... but this was a DNF for me. Read up until the beginning of Chapter 9... where we finally met Alexia.
Didn't get this, couldn't empathise with any of the characters... it probably would've been better to have bridged it from book 1 ( which I liked ) rather than introducing a weird trio. Sadly, the 3 men came across as incredibly immature... which, considering their chosen professions, was a little shocking.
The language was a little stilted and formal... not what one would expect within a friend ensemble. Sighs.
