Utopia or Dystopia? Shangri-La or purgatory? Paradise or perdition? What future truly awaits mankind on the other side of widespread human enhancement? With breakthrough advances in transhumanistic science and technology at an all-time high, it appears that people of all ages, backgrounds, and world cultures are lining up to embrace the alteration and augmentation of the human race. Remaining as the mere Homo sapiens that God designed is no longer satisfactory as we race toward the human-animal chimeric and human-machine hybrid era a point of no return. For many, these transhuman concepts paint bright and glorious tomorrows filled with higher efficiency, ease, and convenience for our world. For others, the notion of irreversibly changing what it is to be human and the potential spiritual and biological repercussions that holds for the earth s dominant species is, understandably, terrifying. In The Welcome to the Transhuman Resistance, you will *The purpose and importance of the resistance group known as the Milieu *Why it s important for the Church to be involved in the discussion about transhumanism *The glaring, spiritual symbolism of the transhuman worldview, and how the Promethean Faith (a.k.a., Religion of Man) is far more a religion than its disciples openly acknowledge *What is driving the Christian Transhuman movement *What methods are currently being used to gradually indoctrinate Church and society with utopian transhuman concepts *Why going from flawed man to enhanced beast doesn t solve humanity s dilemmas and only serves to reveal deeply-rooted philosophical challenges *The link between artificial intelligence and the image of the Beast from Revelation *Why a pro-transhuman Milieu group is forming at the Vatican right now, and what plans they have in mind for humanity s future *How nanotechnology existing at this moment will soon allow for human-robot offspring and why that might be the very technology that ushers in the Antichrist. *PLUS! Two chapters from Thomas and Nita Horn s Forbidden Gates discussing the coming Hell Scenario and the spiritual warfare ramifications of merging man with beast or machine.

This book is mind-blowing. I took me a long time to read as I had to re-read sentence after sentence twice. I couldn't believe what I was reading. There's no such thing as science fiction anymore.
A COLLECTION OF ESSAYS CRITICIZING TRANSHUMANIST IDEAS
Thomas Horn wrote in the opening essay of this 2018 book, “Recently, ‘Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science’ featured a piece written by Professor S. Jonathan O’Donnell in the Department of Religion and Philosophies at the University of London titled, ‘Secularizing Demons: Fundamentalist Navigations in Religion and Secularity.’ O’Donnell’s aim? … to explore … the ‘anti-transhumanist apocalypticisms’ of our day, the central voice behind which was identified as yours truly---‘evangelical conspiracist Thomas Horn [and his] milieu …’ Throughout the academic paper, O’Donnell simply refers to me and my co-obstructionists as ‘Horn’s Milieu.’ In other words, the … professor has determined that I and those who work with me at SkyWatch TV and Defender Publishing are the ‘leaders of the transhuman resistance’ the members of that community had better pay attention to… A title such as this place upon me and the associates … is, I assure you, not as offensive as it may seem. Quite the contrary, I am encouraged that my line of work in the media has captured the attention of renowned spokespersons of the scientific world… [which] proves that my work is WORTH addressing… O’Donnell does not appear to … desire to paint me as a half-witted lunatic like some others have done throughout recent history. For that, I openly offer my gratitude.” (Pg. 1-2)
He continues, “I have attempted to raise awareness of irreversible dangers transhumanism poses to the human race that God designed, and because I have watched as… many have ignored the warnings I believe God has entrusted me to put out there. How… flattering … that my warnings have been heeded by a man in O’Donnell’s position who finds it necessary to concentrate upon and attend to the research I’ve compiled regarding the relationship between today’s ‘Promethean faith’…and the clear-cut commands of God against some of those practices as addressed in the Word.” (Pg. 5-6)
Carl Teichrib asks, “Will we shun technologies that are medically beneficial or otherwise valuable because of associations with transhumanism? I hope not. Augmentation itself is not wrong… We daily use technologies linked to transhuman visions. Discernment is required to know the difference between the techno-faith that seeks to fundamentally transform mankind into an unknown quality and the helpful uses of innovation for present-day humanity. Will we use innovation and technology in ways that are good and advantageous? We have in the past and I trust we will continue doing so… Transhumanism is far more than a zeal for science and technology… it is a social pressure cooker ... heated by the intellectual forces of modernity.” (Pg. 47)
Later, he adds, “Some contemporary transhumanists might see themselves as the transitional generation… For others, hope and trust is centered on finding a technological solution to death before their passing. From either perspective, however, to be truly posthuman requires mastery over morality---to enter the realm of divinity, TO BE AS GOD.” (Pg. 82)
Paul McGuire states, “I noticed that transhumanism, left to its own devices, always seemed to devolve from idealist and utopian ideas into ugly, cruel, barbaric, dehumanizing, and totalitarian states. I would venture to say that most humanists and transhumanists are ethical and compassionate people, but that their idealism blinds them to man’s fallen nature. This is the denial of empirical scientific evidence about the history of mankind and an escape into a non-scientific Romanticism.” (Pg. 97)
Later, he adds, “on a personal level, humanists and transhumanists are often the most ethical, loving, caring, and compassionate people I have encountered. My mother is a strong humanist---and many of her humanistic friends have more integrity and put love into action far more than many evangelical and fundamentalists I’ve met… on a foundational level, humanism and transhumanism are built on the foundation of Darwin’s theory of evolution, in which ‘might makes right’ and only the fittest survive. This implies that things like power, intelligence, science, technology, and genetic superiority create an inevitable class system… In distinct contrast, Christianity is based on the reality of an infinite, personal, Living God of the Universe who sent mankind a Savior who is Jesus Christ.” (Pg. 106-107)
Derek Gilbert notes, “Assuming that science somehow … rolls out the miracle of immortality to everyone on earth, does that really look like heaven?... Imagine a world where most of the people … are immortal, and therefore no longer restrained from doing things that might have gotten them killed previously… a world in which Adolf Hitler, Josef Stain, and Charles Manson could never die---and where others… no longer have that check on their behavior… that sounds more like hell than heaven to me.” (Pg. 134-135)
Josh Peck observes, “[in] the current model of natural evolution… one species is not made extinct to create another, more advanced species… The pursuit of transhumanism is not natural evolution; rather, it is unnatural interference. The eradication of Homo Sapiens is not natural selection; rather, it would be more comparable to the unnatural wiping out of an animal species due to unnecessary human intervention… This is why defining transhumanism as moral or even as a step in the pursuit of morality is irrational.” (Pg. 164-165)
Sharon Gilbert asks, “Do you use social media?... not only is the data streak you and I create mined for secrets by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Government Communications Headquarters (GCH)… it is also used to teach artificial intelligence. Every post you make, every photo you upload… every ‘like,’ every smiley emoticon is used to teach artificial intelligences algorithms about humans. These code entities can predict what you will say at any given moment of the day, based on your constant dream of data… We are being herded by code, and the information bubble that surrounds each of online perpetuates our own view of the world, insulating us from reality…” (Pg 230)
This book will interest those (particularly Christians) seeking critiques of transhumanist ideas.
"I believe God is the ultimate scientist, the First Scientist actually (as the Creator of the universe would naturally be), and therefore, I also believe that all scientific discovery is merely a reflection and a testimony of what "religion" (translation: God the Creator) initiated in the first placrace To dabble with the First Scientist's beautiful and artistic human DNA design to the point that His original race no longer resembles itself - with the idea that we are "improving" what was already there - is no less offensive than a would-be painter attempting to "improve" a Picasso masterpiece."
I liked the fact that the Milieu itself (and of course the book) is comprised of an all-star team of Christian thinkers and researchers. There were slow points and fast points, and some portions were easier to read than others. Some parts had me on the edge of my seat, and some parts I struggled a little to get through. This read of the book depended on the author of the chapter.
The book was well edited and put together. There was a synergy between the authors, which was nice.
Ultimately, the weight of the issues this book addresses is what makes the book so strong. These are heavy subjects of which 99% of our world doesn’t appreciate what’s coming our way in the future.
This book is essential reading, but only a small fraction of people will give its warnings proper consideration. Indeed the majority will dismiss the book as alarmist, fear-mongering, paranoia. Time however will ultimately prove out the content.
I think this should have been shorter with highlites of quoting others. It sometimes seems a little fanatical but then it sites actual examples. I think belief in Jesus is the answer and protection so I’m not going to over worry about the scenarios in this book.ill keep book on hand for reference.
Excellent book on Transhumanism. Several different authors contribute to the book to help the reader think about the biological ethical and spiritual considerations of Transhumanism.
